Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source.

Please do not remove talk page and forum comments, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! —SFH 02:56, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Quote of the Day[edit source]

The quote you just nominated is already on the Quote of the Day page. I nominated it several days ago. To vote for this quote, please list your name here, rather than starting a new quote for it. Thanks, Jonjedigrandmaster (Jedi Beacon) 17:02, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

More Quote of the Day[edit source]

As of right now, you currently have 17 edits on actual Wookieepedia articles, what we call "main" space. There is a requirement of 50 edits before a user is allowed to vote in the QOTD section. On the other hand, anyone, regardless of edits, can submit a quote, and in that case (and that case only) their nominating vote counts. You may have noticed your votes for other people's nominations have been crossed out. This isn't a mistake or persecution, just enforcing the rule. (The rule was voted on and be read here.) Enochf 18:43, September 26, 2009 (UTC)

  • According to the current Edit Count, you're at 48 edits, and the 50-edit requirement still stands. Please hurry up and get the last 2 edits. You can keep track of your edits here. By the end of today, if the vote threshold still hasn't been reached, I'll have to strike the votes again. Enochf 18:30, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
    • There y'go. Welcome to the club! Enochf 20:43, February 10, 2010 (UTC)

Image[edit source]

Please provide a license and a source to the image you uploaded, or it'll be deleted. Thank you. --Xd1358 Talk 19:11, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

Preview[edit source]

Hey Darth Praxus. In future, can you use the "Preview" button located next to the "edit" button. When you make lots of small edits, you clog up the recent changes, making it hard for patrollers and admins to catch vandals. Thank you --Xd1358 Talk 19:01, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Removing pictures[edit source]

Please stop removing canon picture of characters from articles like you did here. Thank you.--Jedi Marty 18:22, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Well, next time before removing, you should check source of the picture and see where it comes from. And although it looks like she does have a green lightsaber (sort of), I thing it's because of wash out colors from source. But it's still canon source. So, if there isn't any canon better picture of her, current picture should stay. Btw see Power of the Jedi Sourcebook (if you have it) for yourself to see what I'm talking about.--Jedi Marty 19:50, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

Weird Al[edit source]

Just a salute to you for nominating more Weird Al song lyrics. Lyrics from his songs have yet to make it to the Quote of the Day queue, and I have nominated some before with no luck, so hopefully yours and mine fair better this time. OLIOSTER (talk) 20px 21:57, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

Re: DOTF[edit source]

I'm not saying the music is bad, it just doesn't really work as a quote in my opinion. NayayenTALK 20:43, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

Too Many Quote of the Day Nominations in Too Short a Time[edit source]

First off, I appreciate that you are being active in nominating Quote of the Days. They definitely make Wookieepedia a more interesting place. However, I noticed that as of today, you have nominated about a third of the "Other" quotes currently being considered. I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, but they're all mostly from Irregular Webcomic and Darths and Droids. The problem is that many users (me included) are kind of glossing over most of them (oh, another Darths and Droids quote?). Plus, I'm sure that most users aren't voting for very many because they don't want to have two weeks straight of quotes from those sources on the main page.

I would suggest trying to space out your quotes by not nominating them all at once. Maybe keep a list of quotes you'd like to nominate on your hard drive, then every month or so, throw one of those quotes on the nomination page. I'm doing that right now with Star Wars Robot Chicken because I want them all to be voted on and I don't want them competing against each other or causing voters to gloss over them.

At any rate, I think it might work out better for you and your quotes, but feel free to take my advice worth a grain of salt if you want. Again, thanks for diligently nominating some truly great quotes. -Thunderforge 03:33, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

Referencing URLs[edit source]

Use the template Quoteurl, and in the source tab, type "url=" followed by the complete URL (http included). Pretty simple. Otherwise, it works just like the normal Quote template. Enochf 21:09, April 13, 2010 (UTC)

Sourcing and Attribution[edit source]

You've made hundreds of edits to Three in the Afternoon, but you're missing an important part of the WP:MOS: Sourcing. You should be adding ref tags after individual factoids, so that your claims can be considered "proven". Just having a list of sources at the end is not enough for a "Quality" article, although it is enough to prevent serious complaints. Ref tagging gets harder to do the deeper you get into an article, so it may be wise to start now, if you intend to verify individual claims. I can do a quick tutorial if you want one. SinisterSamurai 21:56, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

sure.--Darth Praxus- Stover Lover 22:23, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

You need to use <ref> tags. Here's an example:

Alec Guinness thought ''Star Wars'' sucked.<ref>[http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/10/star-wars-flash.html ''Star Wars'' Flashback: Alec Guinness]</ref>

That'll look like this:

Alec Guinness thought Star Wars sucked.[1]

You you reference something more than once, you can use a different ref tag. Like this one:

Alec Guinness thought ''Star Wars'' sucked.<ref name="WhateverYouWantToPutHere">[http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/10/star-wars-flash.html ''Star Wars'' Flashback: Alec Guinness]</ref> Something Unrelated. He apparently killed Obi-Wan on purpose to get out of acting the part.<ref name="WhateverYouWantToPutHere" />

That looks like this:

Alec Guinness thought Star Wars sucked.[2] Something Unrelated. He apparently killed Obi-Wan on purpose to get out of acting the part.[2]

At the end of the article, though, you need to stick a {{Reflist}} template. Like this:

===Notes and refrences===

And that way, everything gets sorted out nice and neat, like this:

Notes and references[edit source]

Double-check on vote[edit source]

Was that recent vote for Jaina Solo and Prowl in the Invasion comic meant to be For or Against? You updated the count to +10, but then listed your vote in the Against list. Enochf 16:52, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

SinisterSamurai 23:34, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

Whoops. I meant it to be a "For". Sorry about that. --Darth Praxus- Stover Lover 16:58, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Issues[edit source]

You might want to talk to Culator about the Star Wars Kid. The "soft redirect" was his edit. Maybe you could stop by IRC (#wookieepedia) and talk to the users online about the G-canon issue. Our WP:IRC page has a link where you can use a web browser instead of chat software. There was a kerfluffle about the "Conan Antonio" Motti thing, and this seems like a bigger issue. Enochf 20:11, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

FAN[edit source]

Hey Praxus—in order to nominate in article for FA status, please add the Fanom template to the nominated article (by adding {{FAnom}} to the article) and then follow the instructions on the template. Thank you. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 19:58, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Signature[edit source]

Hey, it seems that your current orange signature does not link to your user page, which is required per our signature policy. Cheers. 1358 (Talk) 15:59, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Also, I notice in your signature you are marking the TOR Sith emblem with a "20px" marker. Be aware that makes the image 20px wide and the signature policy state that an image in the signature can be no more than 20px high. To make sure the image is conforming to the policy, set the width designator to no more than "17px" and that will make it 20px high, or less. - JMAS 20px Hey, it's me! 18:49, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Wilhelm OGG file[edit source]

  • When uploading, in the description field, you can just copy and paste the quote template you are using on the QOTD page. For source, simply put whichever movie or what not that specific example comes from. Use the "sound sample" license from the drop down list. As for category, simply match it up with its source (for example Category:Audio files from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope). OLIOSTER (talk) 21:24, November 18, 2010 (UTC)
