Darthtyler, welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Rakata dateEdit

  • I believe you left this at 34,000 BBY: "The Rakata civilization falls as a galactic power." That isn't right is it, especially since the Rakata reached their peak in 30,000 BBY? Jaywin 21:39, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks for your response. Seems kind of strange though, eh? I guess it could be interpreted that the Rakata went on the decline, and then about four thousand years later made a comeback. But then again, how valid is that source? The secondary source that was sited was the KOTOR website. Was that date stated, or was it just conjecture? I'll check it out.Jaywin 03:07, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
    • OK here's a direct source: The Official Site of KOTOR. Click the second character down from the top left side, and you'll get a description of the Rakata. The chronology for the Rakata there doesn't seem to jive to well with the chronology for various Wookiepedia articles here. See for yourself. I'll see if they've got something about the Rakata at KOTOR II. Jaywin 03:52, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
      • Nope, nothing at KOTOR II on the Rakata. Jaywin 04:02, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I left a message at both the Rakata page and the Pre-Republic page on the Rakata dates and got two different responses. Thought you might like to check them out. Jaywin 03:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Wookieepedia:Votes for deletion/Clone advisor Edit

You said, "If it comes from a canon source, its canon." Unfortunately, that is not the case. CT-01/425 is canon, but the authors of this article took him and conjectured that he held a position. That position is not confirmed by any canon source. Please consider this in your vote. — SparqMan Talk 17:41, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm not changing my vote.--Darth Tyler(talk) 22:16, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Duel on Death Star IIEdit

Right, three people have changed it, not one. The reason is because Luke didn't become a Jedi Master until a few years later. By the way, if you keep reverting it, you're likely to get blocked for violating the Three-revert rule. Green Tentacle (Talk) 20:48, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Edit

  • Yo Tyler, thanks for helping with the gallery.Could you help add more pics—Troyb 21:36, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey, people on SWF have been trying to make all these games using game maker and stuff. Well, I've made games before, but using Flash 4 instead of their game maker thing. Anyway, I can't do Battlefront obviously, but I can do some ok games, so if you have any ideas for one, it'd be appreciated. Here's an example of one I made. The graphics aren't great but the concept is decent, so anyway, just saying. PinkyTalk

        • yeah, my computer is really slow so its not so hard, but I played it on a newer computer, and wow! its near impossible. I'll have to fix that too. PinkyTalk
          • Oh! Gotcha! Thanks. I don't like that one that much honestly. look at this one! lol, I tried to make it as bad as possible, and I think I did a pretty good job! PinkyTalk

    • "Black Sun" I like that name! Sounds a little familiar though! lol, League of Hunters, I suppose that'll do. PinkyTalk
      • I'll mention it in the bts
  • Though I don't understand what the "hunter" thing is. PinkyTalk
    • Oh. Hey, I have another idea for a name, how about "White Moon"? PinkyTalk
      • Or maybe White Sun, since all moons are white.
        • Well it was actually just a joke at first, but now that I've thought about it a bit more, I might actually go w/ it. The founders of the White Sun would have actually named it that on purpose, basically stating that their the opposite of the black sun. PinkyTalk
          • Yeah. Did you beat that game yet?

        • I see. I understand your confusion and I accept your apology. I believe that my user page clarifies why I am calling myself "The Administrator"'s really just in-line with the concept of having a "School" and has nothing to do with this site. I wasn't, in any way or form, attempting to treat you as if you were some form of "newbie" in regards to the user template. I was simply pointing you in the direction of a forum that linked to the reasoning behind the deletion of that particular template. If I miscommunicated in any way, whatsoever, I apologize. --School of Thrawn 101 06:30, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

No, I'm not against you. I don't even contribute to Wookieepedia, I just occasionally check whats going on around here. Anyway, the note about bots being able to create articles was, admittingly, unnecessary, however I was just bringing it up. I wasn't using it "against" you or anything. T-visor Edit

The schematic to which you are referring does show a breath filter. And it is part of the helmet of clone trooper armor. Just as the T-visor is part of the helmet. The T-visor itself does not have a breath filter because a visor, something you see out of has nothing to do with breathing. Please don't put it back in the article. - JMAS 01:16, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

My Userpage Edit

In the future, I highly suggest you don't edit others' userpages without prior permission, and if you do edit them, put the reason—and the fact that you have permission—in the edit summary. It's frowned upon as a form of vandalism, and considered to be a warnable, then bannable offense.

As far as the "correction" goes, I chose my quotation mark placement carefully. The first line was spoken by supergeeky1, while the second and last lines were both mine. If I had put in the second endquote, it would appear that instead of a two-sentence response to sg1's question, it would be a back-and-forth conversation, which it was not. And furthermore, it would appear that sg1 supplied the punchline to the joke, which was simply not the case. Finally, I will point out that I treat separate chat messages as separate paragraphs, and in English literature, when dialogue begins in one paragraph and is continued in the next, an end quote is not placed on the first paragraph, so as not to give the impression that there is more than one speaker.

—Graestan Jedi Order (This party's over) 05:02, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Don't try to deny that you edited my userpage without permission. I was the one who caught and corrected it by reverting your edits. Look. [1] I'd appreciate if you didn't do anything like that again on anyone else's userpage. It's licentious, and it's rude.—Graestan(This party's over) 04:26, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
    • If you'll kindly look at the first message I posted for you, you'll see that I re-corrected your "corrections" because you were, in fact, mistaken. I think that if you look closely at my contributions to Wookieepedia, you'll find that I am frequently requested for copy-editing of articles. This is because I have a rather well-developed grasp of the English language. Spelling and grammatical errors rarely slip by me. In the case of my lead quote on my userpage, I made no mistake, and thus you had no room to "correct" me. Furthermore, if you were to poll a sizable portion of this wiki's community, you would find that a vast majority of them take issue with other users manipulating their userpages. In my opinion this issue is closed; consider yourself warned about editing others' userpages.—Graestan(This party's over) 21:35, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
  • As an administrator here, I don't care if you think it was completely appropriate for you to edit someone else's userpage. I don't care in the least if they have glaring grammatical errors that annoy you—it is their userpage, and they can add what they want and spell whatever they want how they see fit. If you edit Graestan's userpage, or anyone else's userpage, without first gaining their permission, you'll be blocked temporarily by me. Greyman(Paratus) 15:34, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

According to Darth Culator you were banned on October 19th at 23:37 EST for spamming; he said the most intelligible think you said was "uiygff." Anyway, you're unblocked now. -- AdmirableAckbar [Talk] 22:39, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Duel redirectsEdit

I noticed you are redirecting some "Duel" articles into other Battle articles. So far, none of the ones I've seen you redirects are an issue. But I just to give you a warning not to do that for Duel on Death Star II. That duel is major enough to warrant its own article, So please don't redirect it to the Battle of Endor article or I'll have to revert it. Thanks. :) - JMAS 04:36, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Princess Kneesaa's articleEdit

Hi, Darthtyler. I'm working on several Wookieepedia's articles, specially on Kneesaa's article. I composed my own writings, combining with other Wookieepedia texts (including Ozzel's writings about Wicket), and never copying texts from out of Wookieepedia. Now I'm seeing a Kneesaa's article with a high level I never could imagine. It have a long text, many images and only 3 red links at moment.

It's time to think about GA status for Kneesaa's article. I need your help to insert Notes and references and reference tags on it, and I don't know how to do it. And I need Wookieepedia's help to review the Imperial-Ewok War text, that I included today. The article must be ready to loose the clean up advice.

Unfortunately, I don't have an idea to make more than 1000 words for introduction and "Behind the scenes" sessions. So, we can not think about FA status for the article, now. Do you have an idea?

Kneesaa and Wicket's articles have many points in common. It's not a surprise. The two characters enjoyed several adventures together. Kneesaa's article will always be smaller than Wicket's one, because the princess never had confirmed appearances in the movies, and the animated television series and print issues's productors chose Wicket to be the main character. But we must consider Kneesaa's high importance on Ewoks' plot (she was considered a strong leader, and may be considered an elder by the other ones, despite her young age). And Wicket W. Warrick could not be alive in the movies or could not be a warrior, if Kneesaa had done nothing for him. See Just My Luck, Night of the Stranger and other stories. - Delmarnori 08:50, 25 November 2007

  • Hey Tyler. I noticed you just left SWfanon. While I'd prefer it if you had not done so, I suppose there's nothing that can be done now. I just wanted to ask you if I could edit your articles for you now that you're gone, to give myself something to do. Also, will you still take image requests--for Darthipedia? Thanks, and MTFBWY. Thanks. I am currently in progress of reading Rule of Two which is why I am updating Wookieepedia as I go. That way, I get to enjoy the book and add a vast amount of information to the best encyclopedia on the net. Victor (talk) 20:25, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, of course, Wikipedia takes the cake for me, but when it comes to Star Wars, Wookieepedia definitely does it. Victor (talk) 20:32, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but I can't pull the nomination now. It's already in the voting process and it should have been removed back during the nomination process. Again, sorry. Although only one nomination, "Darth Tyler" by Darthtyler, would have been possible to pull, because the others were all collaborations (Second Battle of Providence, best collaborative w/ Unit 8311, etc.) Victor (talk) 19:19, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Striking objections on the GAN page Edit

Please do not strike objections to your nomination after you have dealt with them, as you did with mine to Spelunker probe droid. Only the person who placed the objections is allowed to strike them, after they feel that you have dealt with them to their satisfaction. In some cases, users may feel that you have not addressed their objections to their satisfaction, and may require further clarification on something. While it may seem a little silly—since I'll probably readd them when I've looked over the changes—I've removed the strikes for now. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 09:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Spelunker Probe droidEdit

Hey there Darth Tyler. I was just wondering whether you were planning on renominating the Spelunker probe droid article for GA again. If not, I would like to try my luck with it. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is a lie) 06:46, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Welcome Edit

yea, you should nominate disco Kaminoans to be a GA i'll vote for it!! --Ve-Sioux Ordo JaingHead (Mando'a) 18:57, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Hungry Ghost Intro Edit

Sorry for the late response. Basically, one sentence will suffice for the wreckage of the Death Star and why the Hungry Ghost was there, and another sentence can cover the Falcon's arrival and the red TIEs' attack, and so on and so forth. When considering if something should be included, think about whether it's directly relevant to the battle itself, not so much as the setup. You don't have to mention all the details; the intro of an article is meant to be a brief summary of the article, not a complete one. In this case, I think it can be cut down to two shorter paragraphs, if not cut down more. If you need further help, just let me know. Also, I'll get to reviewing my objections soon. CC7567 (talk) 06:14, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Disco Kaminoans Edit

Hey Darthtyler. I undid your removal of the Disco Kaminoans on the GAN page since we have a particular procedure for removing nominations that the AC needs to follow. If you want to remove the nomination, please let me know or you can let any other AC member know as well. Thanks. Cylka-talk- 15:34, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

TCW Check-in Edit

So that our project doesn't end up like that cruiser.
Hey Darthtyler! This is your monthly check-in from your project head of WookieeProject The Clone Wars. Our Featured Articles haven't seen any additions as of yet, but our Good Articles are steadily growing. I'd like to remind you to check the current projects listing when you have the chance. If you still have the intent on working on any projects (specifically within the next two or three weeks) that you've reserved there, then it's fine. If you no longer have the intent to work on your project(s), please update it so that others have the chance to work on items there. Thanks again! Your project head, CC7567 (talk) 00:39, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

WP:TCW again Edit

Hey Darthtyler. As project head for WP:TCW, I'm trying to get a better idea of who's still interested in participating in our project. If you're still interested in participating, please leave a note on my talk page or contact me in IRC. If you do not respond within a week, I will assume that you are no longer interested in participating. That doesn't mean that your name will be removed from the "Participants" list, but it means that any of your current projects will be removed from the project page so that others have a chance to work on them. Likewise, if you currently have any projects under your belt, I highly encourage you to review them, and if you don't plan on working on them within the next two or three weeks, I recommend reconsidering them. Thanks. Your project head, CC7567 (talk) 05:50, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello everyone, this is CC7567 from WookieeProject The Clone Wars. It is currently six months after the project was started, and the number of individual projects is steadily growing. While I am happy that so many of you are writing for the WookieeProject, the majority of articles there have been sitting there for months. Several users even have ten projects or more at the moment, and I am frankly just disappointed at the level of inactivity that is befalling our articles. I understand that many of you have other obligations, and while I respect that, the responsibility falls to you to judge whether or not you're still capable of writing all of these articles, whether in time or in energy. For this reason, I once again urge you to reconsider your current projects. The criteria should be that you have the unrelenting intent to finish all of your projects within the next month. I myself have had to reconsider my own projects on account of real-life time constraints. I do not want to have to set a limit to the number of projects per user, but if it comes down to that, I will, because I do not want to see the project deteriorate and hope that you do not want to either. Thank you. CC7567 (talk) 19:21, October 31, 2009 (UTC)

Year article sourcingEdit

  • Per the new Sourcing Project for Years, it seems you added information to year articles that need citations or appearances, or they are under threat of deletion. Take 25,180 BBY for example and the colonization of the Roche asteroid field by the Verpine. What is the source for this? Any other year articles you may have worked on are also under threat of deletion. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:45, November 22, 2010 (UTC)
