Havac/Archive1, welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall or ask me on my talk page. Force Commander update discussionEdit

It seems you have a very complete understanding of force ocmmander. Can i suggest you update Tyr Taskeen as well? thank you.

  • Yep, it's on the way. Expect an update on him in a week or so. Havac 15:02, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

good job! i look forward to seeing expansions on Brashin and beri tulon.

good job on Beri tulon. is brashin next?

  • Yes, at some point he will be updated as well. Depending on my mood, I might do a smaller FoCom article first. Havac 02:39, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Need any help with your FoCom update crusade? I was planning on doing it a while ago but I got side-tracked. Am willing to collaborate with you if you could use a hand with a couple articles --beeurd 17:13, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Wookieepedia:Votes for deletion/YahezEdit

Hello! Thanks for your contribution on Wookieepedia:Votes for deletion/Yahez! I'm kinda new, but possess a considerable amount of knowledge on the normal English Wikipedia. How do you put 'em up for speedy AfD here?

Also, could you please vote what you think on Wookieepedia:Votes for deletion/Yahez? That would be appreciated!

Mandalorian CategoriesEdit

  • Just a minor point: Usually when a character is in a "subcategory", there's no need for the more expansive category. i.e. If Boba is in a "Mandalore" category, he doesn't need a "Mandalorian" category, since Mandalore is a subcategory of Mandalorian (as all Mandalores are Mandalorian), likewise with Mandalorian Protector and Mandalorian, etc... QuentinGeorge 03:59, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
  • I know. There's an anon who's editing too -- he's the one leaving the Mandalorian categories in. I'm removing them as I get to them (although with someone with a ton of cats, like Fett, I might miss one). Havac 04:01, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Ah, ok, looking again, it was more the anon I should've pointed this out to. Apologies. QuentinGeorge 04:19, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
      • No need. Havac 04:20, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Good effortEdit

Just wanted to say congrats on your great effort last month, you climbed 205 places! --Eyrezer 04:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I never even knew those stats were available. Wow. Havac 04:37, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Force Commander ArticlesEdit

You know, with an expanded lead, and a "Personality and Traits" section, each of those Force Commander articles you put up for GA would be FA worthy. .... 06:22, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

I started the Battle Of Ruul Article you added on it.#

Hey, I noticed you cited prose issues as a reason against Chik Apla. I just caught this now, and I read over the article once more and still thought it read reasonably well. Could you point me in the right direction? Cull Tremayne 08:55, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

  • It's amazing what you can notice if you don't just skim the article. I made a couple more edits trying to reduce redundant usage of words, etc. Still, if there are any other glaring prose corrections I can make, can you give me the heads up? Cull Tremayne 09:16, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
    • The things you can do with a fresh perspective. Thanks for the help. One vote at a time :P.Cull Tremayne 04:21, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
      • Yep, just some tweaks. Havac 06:24, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Wreckin' Shop Edit

Wow, I was just looking around the recent changes on Sunday night. Man, this boy is going _off_! keep up the good work. Serendipitousus 08:30, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Haha, yeah, I'm doing a little recatting. Havac 08:33, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Unblock request? Edit

As I said on User talk:, if that IP is yours, it doesn't appear to be blocked. I'm not sure what the deal is. Try to edit again while logged in: if not, put {{unblock}} here. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:17, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

  • It seems that IP was caught in a range block Darth Culator applied ( BlockUnblockList blocksBlock history): but now the IP ranges have shifted, so the person we were trying to catch with that range block probably isn't using those IPs anymore. I've unblocked the range. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:28, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Havac 02:32, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

This seems to be related to the above. Havac, your edits (or some of them) show IP address in the history the last couple of days. But your signature shows Havac. Strange?? -Fnlayson 06:52, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

  • That's me. Something to do with my home internet -- I can't stay logged in. I can log in and stay in for a page or so, but if I click I get logged out and have a heck of a time getting back in. I've pretty much given up on it, so I'm editing as an anon, and when I feel it's important to associate myself with my Senate/CT edits, I manually type in my sig. I seem to be logged in at the moment, so we'll see if that will hold after I click to save. Havac 06:17, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
    • It held! Then I clicked edit to say that it held an I got logged out. Ugh. 06:18, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

CT-01/425 Edit

In what specific mission does he refer to himself as "01/425"? --Imp 20:00, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Prosecutor. I can't remember the exact title of the sub-mission, but I'm pretty sure it's right after the Lucrehulk shows up. I'm going to replay it over break and get more specifics to you in a week and a half or so. Havac

Shola Ruins Edit

Do you have Empire at War? If so, do you know anything about the Shola Ruins? Your page says you are a Star Wars gamer so you seem like a good bet. Thanks. Chack Jadson 21:33, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Nope, sorry. No EAW for me. Havac 03:31, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Z-95 HeadhunterEdit

You objected to this article being a Good Article, saying that it could be expanded even to the extent of being a FA. Subsequently. a number of other people have voted for it, and it now has over 5 votes for. I wanted to ask if you still objected, keeping in mind the lower requirements for GA than FA? --Eyrezer 22:26, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

  • I stand by my objection. GA is, as far as I understand it, for articles of FA quality but without the multiplicity of sources and information on the topic required to make a good FA. The Headhunter article doesn't have all the information I think it should. If it were to get that information and be written well enough for GA, I would think that there would be enough content for FA. Go ahead and promote it if you want, but I don't feel right striking my objection. 07:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
    • Hmm. The process for GAs is not very clear. The page states that only 5 votes are needed, but clearly your objection has is still valid and the article is unchanged. There seems to be two types of GAs to me, the type you describe—articles that are essentially finished, but not long enough for FA—and those articles that are capable of FA status but only part way there. I'll sit with it for a while longer. --Eyrezer 08:50, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Inquisitorius Edit

On the IRC, a few of our illustrious admins are putting together an FA Review council. It comprises of Cull Tremayne, Atarumaster88, StarNeptune, Darth Culator (I think), and myself. I'm there because they need a few regular users on the panel too, and your name also popped up as another panel member. If you're interested, just join in the IRC chat. Mystery Jedi Edit

In the Unused Images thread you mentioned File:Mystery Jedi.JPG. In the UTC files they're just named "Jedi", although other info in the files suggests that they're Council members.

If I have this right: The one on our left has an appearance called "Jedi_Council_Member_Female" and a tag suggesting the same thing; she always looks like that. The other two have tags with "jedicoun" in them, but their appearance seems to be randomized (though one is always male and the other female). Hope that helps. - Lord Hydronium 04:13, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Alright, cool, thanks. Havac 08:25, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

SOTE wiki Edit

I see down at the bottom of your page you say that you have created most of the Shadows of the Empire page. that vader pic Edit

Why do you insist that this disputed pic is not a Battlefield Holographic Control Interface? The Force Commander first level tells us that the investigation for the droids was commanded via one. MoffRebus 23:08, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

  • If I may just butt in for a second...that's the Death Star Conference room he's in. Which is not a BHCI. .... 23:22, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Exactly. Brenn was at the only known BHCI at the time. Vader is at something which clearly doesn't resemble the BHCI seen in the other pic. Identifying Vader's holotable as a BHCI is simply fanon. Havac 05:34, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

  • It works. Havac 23:22, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Re: Edit

  • I don't see it as redundant tagging. Each of those tags addresses a separate issue that exists within the article. An example of original research/speculation is "here seems, in contrast, to be little direct evidence for bottle-fed infant formula or wet-nursing, making it hard to assess the extent to which these alternative techniques were used" etc. The original research is the made up stuff or speculated content. An example of disputed factual accuracy is "Similarly, the physique that T'ra Saa, who was a Neti—essentially a sentient tree—assumed in her pseudo-human form can be regarded as consciously chosen, as she was in fact a shape-shifter", etc.- parts of which are true and canon but parts of which aren't. I see that as extending the canon to fill in the gaps- creating a factual discrepancy about what is canon and what isn't. And an example of NPOV is the entire cultural significance section, which basically takes a pro-mainstream Galactic society slant. Instead of just stating the different significances, whatever of breasts in those societies, it makes direct comparisons (and even holds as more significant) the view of mainstream society. To me, that's POV. So no, the tags aren't redundant. I think the reader should be made aware of the various issues in the article, and three tags are appropriate. Atarumaster88 20:35, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Dah Trash Compactor!Edit

Good job coming up with that one. It was a duh kind of thing but its perfect for article recyclification. We could still have a dianoga delete the articles though. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 20:49, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Hunts of Boba Fett Edit

I'd like to personally thank you for your help with the images on Hunts of Boba Fett, I've put a couple of days of rereading books into getting this article up and running and I'm glad to see that someone gives it enough merit to help out with the little things to make it look better, your work is greatly appreciated, and I see it as a show of support for this type of article, that gives a slight more detail into some of the more interesting moments in the characters life.N.Y.N.E.Comlink 05:37, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

  • No problem. Though if I were you, I wouldn't add any more images until you get enough text to support them -- that Wat Tambor one in particular is taking up quite a bit of space. Havac 05:39, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Jerec Edit

Hey, very sorry for breaking up your edit there. I just wasn't thinking at all. plus, consumed by anger at stupidity. Again, sorry.--Erl

I'm sorry I blew up at you. You're right, that personal attack was pointless. You can actually put deleted content back!? I never knew that...So, you were going to give it back to him on the fanon wiki? Ohhhhh... I really shouldn't have said anything at all. It was none of my business.--1upD 23:41, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Just to avoid any bad bloodEdit

I wanna set the record straight. You had unanonimous support from many well-respected users and amins on your request for adminship, and I have a clear impression that you know the ins and outs of Wookieepedia as well as is to be expected from an admin. These things convince me that you are very capable, even if I may have given you another impression. No doubt, the Wook will be better off than it was before your promotion. Do not consider this an apology, however. I am not in the habit of doing things I don't believe in, and I never apologize as a way to make up with someone, unless I feel I was in the wrong. This is merely to let you know I don't have a vendetta, and isn't being unreasonable. This is the core of the matter: I think, that in spite of your good admin qualities, you have seen the worst of vandalism all too often, and it has made you a tad more triggerhappy, unforgiving and hotheaded than you ideally could be. While I have nothing to bring to the noticeboard in terms of formal complaints on you, I do not intend to keep my mouth shut if I see the ones in power getting too fiercely protective of the Wook as to forget to give someone the benefit of the doubt. And I am not hinting at anything specific now, just speaking generally. Sikon is much like you in this regard, and I have critizised him in the past as well. As anyone in power, an admin must be prepared to face criticism from his subjects. It helps keeping him grounded. I will be one of those subjects. But I realize I can be less snide about it than I have been in the past. So, if I say: "Havac, I think you are crossing the line here", in stead of "So, Havac, playing evil Emperor again, are we?", would that be better? DarthMRN 22:58, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

  • No problem. If you don't like what you see, you should always be free to raise a complaint. I certainly wouldn't want to stop you. However, I don't think the way you went about doing it was productive. If you have a problem with an admin action, it's generally best to take it to the noticeboard -- which isn't, as you seem to think, a formal complaint -- or to that admin's talkpage. However, it's generally best not to turn an admin's warning into a giant debate about the warning. The warning is then lost in the tumult of discussion and it undermines the authority of the admin making the warning. It's the same concept behind the three-revert rule. Instead of continually edit-warring over a change you see as negative, you step back from the object in question and you take it to the talkpage, where it can be fully discussed without disrupting the article. It might cause what you see as a negative situation to continue in the article, but it's a wiki and it can always be changed later; meanwhile, you're discussing it more fully in a better forum for such a discussion and proper procedure is being followed. I hope we can both agree that that's a better approach. Havac 23:07, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Points well taken. DarthMRN 23:26, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Mayhap we should redirect and lock that most powerful jedi/sith nonsense? It keeps coming back. Atarumaster88 20:44, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

  • I was just looking in the POTJ sourcebook, and it said that Jerec was looking for the Valley of the Jedi even before he went to the dark side. You'll know how best to incorporate that or make a note if it contradicts something elsewhere. --Eyrezer 12:01, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

    • I like the guy who says the comic was too kiddie. It was way more adult than the book ever managed. But it's got a satyr in it, so it's kiddie. But yeah, the boards are pretty moroniffic. "It's for adults like me . . . naw, d00d, Drew's the man and it's so important because you can't be kickass kewl if you're not the man! That is so a rockin' counterpoint to your statement!" I'm so glad I don't post there, or I'd bust a vein. Havac 03:32, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Intensify the forward firepowerEdit

Crix Madine is going nowhere on the WookieeProject. I personally say we should do a character that more people are knowledgeable about, as well as a former FA, so I was thinking Mara Jade Skywalker. I am, however, open to ideas at Forum:New Main Focus. Also, I saw your old thread on your schedule, and I'd be happy to help out on Face and Fel if you want the help. Mind you, if you prefer to do it all yourself, I'm good with that too. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 14:29, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

COPPA Block Paleontologist.piczo Edit

I would like to talk about my block. First of all, I am an official Dutch citizen and have never set foot in the U.S., so I don't have anything to do with the law of the U.S.. And my 13th birthday is 5 September 2007. So if you decide that this law also counts for me, do relies that my block should be removed on that date. Please contact me with this email adres:

Please remove this email adres from your User Talk page as soon as you have contacted me.

Nog een fijne dag.

  • You're probably not going to read this, but I'll throw it out there on the off chance that you do. Hopefully it'll save Havac the trouble...COPPA applies to all Wikia sites because Wikia's servers are HQ'd within the boundaries of the USA, not Holland. That's how the internet works, you see. --School of Thrawn 101 10:58, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
    • That's how it works . . . except, it appears, that we as Administrators aren't supposed to enforce this; see Forum:Issues of age and identity. As a result, I will be lifting the block and notifying the user. jSarek 11:20, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Thanks for releasing the block. But I have a question, are the other users that have been blocked because of COPPA also going to be unblocked?

        • Since we're not entirely certain what this change in policy entails for us yet, we're taking it slowly, and only unbanning those who make the request. jSarek 19:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Mara JadeEdit

  • Also, I recall you saying you didn't mind NJO too much. We're in the final stages of taking Mara Jade to FA-nom-ready status, and it's blasted hard to find NJO writers besides myself and Greyman. Would you mind doing some expansions on a couple of the books in the next week or so? It'd really help us out. Thanks. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 17:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
    • I'm glad to hear that you love the NJO series. As you know, though "pretty good" is not good enough for this nasty, nit-picky group of people we have who think they run the FA nom page though. ;-) We're going through and expanding the article from the novels one by one. StarNeptune said she'd help out, which gives us some leeway, but if you wouldn't mind doing some expansions from The Final Prophecy and Agents of Chaos I: Hero's Trial in the next week or so, it'd be a great aid. I was hoping to get this to you on IRC before it was nommed, but... In the AOTC visual dictionary there's a shot of the Coruscant cityscape, with a line pointing to one of the towers labeled "Private spire of Raith Seinar, military spacecraft engineering genius." The picture might be useful for the article too, though I don't have a scanner so I can't help there. - Lord Hydronium 05:31, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm on it. Havac 20:21, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Why on Earth... Edit

...did you block Jack? He was one of the best we had! Rodtheanimegod4ever 03:35, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Because he was nowhere near the best we had, no matter how many linebreaks he added and then removed. And added again. Havac 03:52, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images Edit

Good evening.

I was curious what to do about accidentally uploading the wrong images. I uploaded two game screenshots as .png by accident. The files are File:Ebon hawk-flee.png and File:Leviathan-blast-Taris.png. I have uploaded the correct .jpg files of each, but I was wondering how to delete the .png versions. Is this something you could take care of? Thank you very much. • Sorry, accidentally added the brackets on this page. Having a rough time with the images today. My apologies. Master Aban Fiolli (Alpheridies University ComNet) 20px 02:01, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
    • Deleted. No problem. For future reference, though, you can link an image without displaying it by placing a colon before "Image" -- like this: [[:File:Leviathan-blast-Taris.png]]. Havac 02:03, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Thought I would come to you Edit

  • Hello, my friend. I thought I would come to you with this concern considering you seem to be the one admin who really takes charge of blocking people, and that, if memory serves, you were/are one of the few people who agree with me on Jack Nebulax's rightful place. I don't want this to necessarily be a plea asking for this user to be blocked, instead I would ask you to monitor the edits made by User:StarNinja99, and perhaps taking appropriate action as you see fit. I hope he doesn't read this, but I feel I need to explain to you the poor quality of his edits. If you would simply read the introduction to his user page, you will probably understand what I'm saying. His writing ability leaves much to be desired. A sample of one of his edits I undid, only to have him selfishly revert my own change to keep his own creation, later, fortunately, fixed by a third party with some sense: "During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Fia of the Galantos Guard used the Y-wing in defense of there planet, but when fighting of the Yuuzhan Vong with Twin Suns Squadron, the Galactic Alliance pilots would refer to them as "old" and "clumsy". From the sound of the situation, it looks like the Y-wing was no longer in use by the Galaxy at large." A look at his contributions page will show some pages created with similar horrendous prose, pages created with no sourcing of appearances, etc. I just don't see a lot of good coming from this guy, and it seems like he does more bad than good. Thank you for your time. Toprawa and Ralltiir 03:29, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Warned and heavily rollbacked. Havac 04:00, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
  • You know, I did leave a large note here about leaving wookieepedia, and I almost did, but as I looked through my previous work, I think you are both right. My additions all were either pointless or useless. You are both right, I could do more good here if I'm not so quick to update a page. I apologize for everything that happened, and I will take the warning to heart. Oh, and the whole Y-wing thing, i didn't know you had deleted it, I had just thought something had gone wrong with the page. I'm sorry, and will work hard to improve my Editing skills. No hard feelings, I hope. JR 20:07, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Thank you for the formating information as well, it was really helpful.

Karrde referencesEdit

  • Why'd you strip all the references out of the Talon Karrde article? jSarek 00:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
    • I'm rewriting it and it's helpful for me to be able to see my references as I make them -- eventually, everything will be restored to proper referenceness. Havac 03:30, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
      • Well . . . be gentle, and take good care of my baby. That was the first major article I ever wrote here. ;-) jSarek 03:34, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
        • It shall be treated with appropriate tenderness. Havac 03:43, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

A message from DarthMRN Edit

"Havac, please review the circumstances of my block again, and then suspend it or not as you see fit, along with anything that might go on my permanent record. I'm trying to be reasonable here." -- DarthMRN (via proxy)

  • Reviewed, considered, denied. Havac 17:51, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Sora Bulq using lightning Edit

Hey Havac, it's me posting from my home computer, and I am not an anon, and it wasn't nice to call me one just because I wasn't logged in. You don't have to unlock Sora's article if you really don't want to, I can't make you, but I would like you to at least see that you were mistaken, and wrong to ban me, because all I was doing was trying to improve wookieepedia, by improving Sora's article. Sora Bulq certainly isn't my favorite character, but he does rank up there, and I only wanted his article to be as complete and accurate as possible.

As we see later on, "Sith Lord Quinlan" is really Sora Bulq.

--Darthsith19 22:25, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

  • No, it's not Sora Bulq. It's Quin's dark side. The fact that Bulq shows up in the same place as the visual representation of Quin's darkness is nothing more than an artistic decision. It's certainly not Bulq talking, and there's no basis for assuming the powers displayed are Bulq's. It's not a 1-to-1 substitution. Havac 22:50, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm just going to discuss this in the Sora talk section, alright?
