Herbsewell, welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. File:Aar'aa.jpgEdit

Image deletion warning The image File:Aar'aa.jpg has been listed at Wookieepedia:Images and media for deletion. If you feel that this image should not be deleted, please go there to voice your opinion.
-- I think this is fanart from this site, which while a quality site, is not canon. —Silly Dan (talk) 03:37, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Two thingsEdit

  • Number 1: Please stop posting fanon. The statistics which I have now had to delete from the TIE Hunter twice are NOT official and therefore do not belong here. Number 2: http://insd.swcombine.com/ is not a valid source. And changing a few words when you copy-and-paste from them is still plagiarism. —Darth Culator (talk) 18:23, 5 April 2006 (PDT)

Reply: Stormtrooper Edit

If you want to nominate stormtrooper for featured status, go ahead. It definitely is better than some of the other articles out there. --Xwing328(Talk) 00:22, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Blanking Edit

I noticed in some of your edits that you seemed to be removing large amounts of text, specifically here and here. I assume this isn't intentional and was just wondering, what browser do you use and do you have the Google Toolbar installed? If you are doing it intentionally, please don't, as it's quite detrimental and could be considered to be vandalism. -- I need a name (Complain here) 00:50, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't mean the quotes. If you scroll down in those links, you'll notice at the bottom that several paragraphs have been removed. I was just wondering if you had the Google Toolbar installed because I remember reading about there being a bug in it that caused things like that to happen. -- I need a name (Complain here) 00:55, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
    • If you're using the Google Toolbar, it's a glitch where it doesn't load a page completely and ends up cutting off the text if it's really long. From what I've heard, downloading the latest version should fix it. If you're not using the Google Toolbar, then I have no idea. Try seeing what some of the people said here and see if any of it applies to you. -- I need a name (Complain here) 01:15, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Nagai-Tof War FAEdit

Hey, how's it going? Just wondering if your objection to the Nagai-Tof War still stands after breathesgelatin's response? Besides that, you doing any major edits recently? Cull Tremayne 18:18, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

  • What is the objection? That it's too short? That it doesn't have a lot of sources? I don't believe that either of these are true about the article, so what is the problem with it? And just for the record, it is nothing like the Grappa page because it's longer, better written, and is a significant part of the Star Wars history. 23:30, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
    • If you don't mind me asking, what point are you trying to make? And no, Grappa doesn't meet the FA requirements like Nagai-Tof War does. It doesn't meet requirements 1, 7, and 9. The Nagai-Tof War does meet those requirements. For 1) Grappa is not well-written or detailed, Nagai-Tof War is 7) Grappa does not have a "have a succint proper lead", Nagai Tof War does and 9) Grappa does not have a "detailed biography". Cull Tremayne 01:29, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
      • I'm not trying to get you to vote for the article, I'm just trying to get you to remove your objection, which at least to me, seems unwarranted. Cull Tremayne 01:30, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
        • So are you saying that Nagai-Tof War is poorly written? Then tell me what to fix, and once again, what point are you trying to make by objecting to this article? There are plenty of other, much shorter articles up for Featured article, if you're making a point why not do it to all of those articles? Cull Tremayne 04:53, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
          • I respect your opinion. I'm just trying to verify the reason for your opinion. You still haven't told me. What point are you trying to make? Ok, so Grappa is well-written and meets the FA requirements in your opinion, then what keeps it from being a FA (the best of the best) in your opinion? Cull Tremayne 21:05, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
            • Geez, that was fast. Look, why is it not worthy? Because it's in a comic? Because it's short? What? Just because it's in a comic isn't really an objection is it? Seriously now, what point are you trying to make, can you just answer that? Please? Cull Tremayne 21:25, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
              • I understand where you're coming from, but I think that getting more obscure articles featured helps them become not so obscure. Some of the more well known people and organizations are going to have a harder time being featured because it's much harder to create a detailed and expansive article with such a large array of sources and appearances. Cull Tremayne 21:45, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
                • Remember, best of the best has to do with the most well written articles, not with the most favorite in the fan community. No one's debating that the Galactic Civil War and the Clone Wars are much better conflicts than Nagai-Tof War. Only that Nagai-Tof War is among the best written and expansive articles within its scope of material. Cull Tremayne 21:49, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
                  • I didn't think I was arguing with you. At least I wasn't trying to. Cull Tremayne 23:31, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Darth MaulEdit

Because it becomes part of their name when the fall to the dark side. It's not just a title, its a name. Darth Abeonis Sith Council (Sith Campaign) 20:18, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Listen mate, just a friendly word of advice. It's not going to change, the articles are going to remain "Darth xxx" despite the MOS, so just leave it. Sorry if i sound rude, thats not my intention, but its better just to wrap this up before it starts. Darth Abeonis Sith Council (Sith Campaign) 20:29, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

And end to these debates. Edit

Okay, I don't know about you, but I'm getting really sick of these debates. I'm under a lot of stress lately, and frankly, you haven't made matters any better. I'm asking you to stop posting on those topics, and in response, I'll also stop posting. The decision is up to you now. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 14:53, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Both of you, stop bothering each other right now. I don't care who gets the last word, or who started it: just back off from one another for the day, all right? —Silly Dan (talk) 15:48, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Apologies. Edit

Listen, I'm really sorry about everything that's happened recently. I was an asshole, and I apologize for calling you one. I also apologize for being so rude in all of those discussions we've had. I've been trying to reform, but I failed. I hope that you can forgive me, and that we can start over. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 01:15, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Possible Revenge Edit

Hey Herbsewell...Jack Nebulax has came into the IRC chat room to report that he's disturbed by your recent edits...he believes that you're editing everything he does as an act of "revenge" for previous arguments/misunderstandings. While it's not technically against the rules to do so, if you are simply doing it as a form of revenge then kindly stop and try to rise above the temptation as an act of civility. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 01:27, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I wasn't too keen on leaving this message myself (indeed, I argued about it for quite some time with Jack in the IRC chat room), purely because I didn't personally see any break of the rules at all...but oh well, thanks for reading and listening anyhow. :) —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 12:58, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey. Edit

Herbsewell, listen, I really don't care anymore. If you want to continue to try to annoy me, fine. But it's not working. I in no way want this to disrupt my normal routine of editting articles. So, do what you want to. But I don't care anymore. You can hate me, but I don't hate you. Have a good time here, Herbsewell. Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 18:06, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm usually inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt... Edit

...but your constant questions on how the bombs work on TIE fighters appear to me to be an attempt to get Jack angry. Please stop: he's answered the questions as well as anyone can. —Silly Dan (talk) 15:50, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

ResponseEdit

Well, I don't know what that means, but please do not talk to me. User:BobafettH23/Sig. Stop. Iam reporting you to an admin for calling Jack a prick. User:BobafettH23/Sig. done. User:BobafettH23/Sig.

Stay oof my talk page. Leave me alone BobafettH23

WarningEdit

  • I've warned warned Nebulax for it before, now I'm warning you. Stop engaging in personal attacks. No good can come of it. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(TINC) 19:46, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Your user image Edit

Based on the following discussion, I'm afraid I have to delete your user image. Please re-upload it if you can get permission from the creator. —Silly Dan (talk) 22:35, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

  • File:Picure of Herbsewell doll.jpg: This image is taken from DeviantArt. The copyright notice on that page specifically says "©2005-2006 ~Evolvana", and based on a discussion I have had with the creator of this artwork, she did not upload it to Wookieepedia, and she was not informed it was here (and therefore did not give permission for that). DeviantArt does go after people for what they call "ripping" their artwork, and this would count in their eyes. --OuroborosCobra 14:19, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
    • OuroborosCobra, did you even look through her posts before you accused him of ripping? The second page has a request from "Herbsewell" asking for permission to use the Thrawn plushie! The only Herb can be accused of is not "showing" her the page after he uploaded it. Cull Tremayne 02:07, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
      • Here is his post 6 posts down. Cull Tremayne 02:09, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
        • First off, you are far more likely to reach me if you leave a message on my user page. Second off, at the time I put this up, the creator of that art work seemed to not know why she was on Wookieepedia. The uploader should have provided some proof or release showing that they had the right to use the image, and they did not. I am not going to go through someones message archive to find that, it should have been provided here on Wookieepedia on the image page. It was not. In addition, that post shows that Evolvana requested to be shown this page before putting the image up, and there is no reply showing that the uploader did that. Therefore, they may not have met the requirements set for permission to use the image. --OuroborosCobra 02:33, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
          • So I just show her the page?--Herbsewell 02:37, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Palpatine Picture Edit

It has been decided that the "proper" size for a picture in an infobox is 275 px. please dont change it, its obvious that you are just trying to get under his skin. HappyTimeHarry 00:38, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Where was this decided, Harry? =) --Imp 00:39, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
    • What? I thought the standard was 250px for all pictures--Herbsewell 00:47, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
      • Disregard that herbs my mind blanked for a second. im such a silly. HappyTimeHarry 00:48, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
        • Wait is the same for all images or just infobox ones?--Herbsewell 00:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
          • It's 250px for infobox images and 180px for images next to infoboxes. --Imp 00:51, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
            • So if an image in an article is 300px, it's not allowed to be?--Herbsewell 00:52, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
              • If you are doing it right. HappyTimeHarry 00:55, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
                • So no non-infobox image is allowed to be more than 180px?--Herbsewell 00:55, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Warning Edit

Herbsewell, please refrain from attacking other users. I know you may have a grudge against User:Jack Nebulax, but that gives you no right to post demeaning comments about him or any other user: "Jack's not an Admin. --Yoshi626 04:11, 12 January 2007 (UTC) And hopefully never will be... The VFD page you voted on overlapped with the existing merge discussion thread on Forum:Imperial insignia page: would you mind voting there? Thanks, —Silly Dan (talk) 00:19, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Edit counter on Zeldapedia Edit

The counter should be good to go. All that's left is for an admin to place the following code (without the <pre> tags) into their MediaWiki:Monobook.js. Afterwards, users should be able to get their edits at User:Editcount/editcount.js.

//[[User:Editcount/editcount.js]]
if (document.title.indexOf('User:Editcount/editcount.js') != -1) {
  document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="'
    + '&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>'); }

this is grammatically correct Edit

I suggest you stop that until this vote is done. Kuralyov 02:37, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

  • There is a reason we have a consensus track, you know, and a reason votes are held there. Kuralyov 02:44, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Action Figures Restart Edit

Alright, since you were one of the three in the discussion of the restart and Jack is gone for now, I figured you would like to work with me to figure out some new options. It's at Wookieepedia:Jundland Wastes for now. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 22:14, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

IRC? Well, I know (kinda) what it is, but I've never used or even really seen it before... I can try and figure it out, though. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 22:38, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Heh, nevermind, just figured it out. It's a lot easier than I thought... Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 22:41, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Quote Votes Edit

I appreciate your voting on the Valentine's Day nomination, but once a quote gets its own page like that, voting has happened already. I'd much rather have your input on the hundred-plus quotes waiting, patiently, desperately, to accumulate ten votes on the main Quote of the Day page. We've got more candidates than usual right now, so I don't even care if people show up just to vote against my favorites, as long as it gets them off the page. ^_^ Enochf 17:58, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

  • No worries. More than anything I'm trying to lure as many people to the QOTD page as possible. On Friday I was reduced to begging, and eventually some people showed up and gave a tenth vote on some of the +9s, which helped. Enochf 18:02, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

IRC, continuedEdit

  • You left before I could quote this also, but the basis for the subatomic part of lightsaber construction also comes from I, Jedi: "... I bathed the lightsaber with the Force. As I did so subtle transformations took place in the weapon. Elemental bonds shifted, allowing more and more energy to flow into the cell and throughout the weapon." Your bot Edit

Please edit your bot's user page so we know who it is. —Silly Dan (talk) 23:12, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Herbsewell, please come on to IRC. I had to temporarily block your bot, as there is a slight error that can be easily (I hope) remedied. —Xwing328(Talk) 03:15, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
    • And please don't change Chewie to Chewbacca. It screws up quotes. - Sikon 13:42, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

STOP!!! Edit

Please stop insulting me!!!!!!! I an not an Idiot! And Me and Ramblin wreck are two diffrent people. He is one of my close friends. Quinlanfan 23:22, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

File:Templeofthejediorderlogo.gif Edit

File:Templeofthejediorderlogo.gif is not being used. Could you add a source and/or use it in an article? —Silly Dan (talk) 12:55, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

BlockEdit

Sorry about accidently blocking you. Xwing328 appears to have unblocked you, so you should be able to access Wookieepedia again. Just please try to get Navi under control. She's really making it hard to view the recent changes page. -- SFH 21:57, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

SOTE Edit

This comment applies to your SOTE comment. Please re- read the description. We have a KOTOR wiki. All KOTOR has is two games and some comic books, where as SOTE has a book, comic book, comic book sequal, game, action figures, action figure spaceships, and soundtrack. Plus on the wiki you will be able to do stuff that you cant do on wookieepedia, such as, submit artwork and fan fiction. Quinlanfan 18:42, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I was not whining. You just seemed confused. I was trying to help you understand. Thats all. Quinlanfan 22:02, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I wasn't trying to change your mind. I just thought you were confused. Sorry

Game wiki Edit

Hello, I'm one of the users that are trying to get the Game wiki started. I see that you left a comment on Quinlanfan's talk page saying there already is a Star Wars Game wiki. Judging by what that is, it looks like a RPG star wars wiki. Are you an active member over there? If your not, from what I've seen on there it looks exactly like RPG. supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 06:30, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

  • My point is that wiki is a RPG wiki, not a video game wiki. I was just informing you. supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 06:34, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Take a look at the categories on the site, it is an RPG wiki! supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 06:40, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
      • My appologies, I thought it was you. I'll leave a message on his/her talk page. supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 06:45, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
        • Take a look at it! It's about Star Wars Diplomacy and various other role playing games! Victor Von Doom from the Fantastic Four is on the front page as trying to take over the Republic or something like that! It's not video games like KOTOR or Battlefront! CHECK IT OUT! supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 06:50, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
          • Says Wikipedia! Take a look at the site, it is RPG's! supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 06:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
            • You should see me right now, I'm calm as always. I just simply wanted to inform you that the wiki is about RPGs, at least that is what I believe. I didn't want to start any war, I was just simply telling you. Are we O.K. now? :) supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 07:05, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

I know I'm not in charge YET. He said after I have contributed for a while that I could be in charde of it. the blocking thing was a misunderstanding. My family created accounts and that is called sock puppeting. It was not my fault, it wa my family's. And please stay off my back. Quinlanfan 00:05, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

I am not harassing you. he did say that I could be the leader. but then he crossed it out. See: http://requests.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:GHe#WHY.3F.21.3F.21.3F.21.3F.21.3F.21.3F.21.3F.21.21.3F.21. Quinlanfan 01:45, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

My appologies Edit

I really wanted to appologize for my behavior the other night! I did not want to be a bother about the wiki Quinlanfan and I were requesting, I was just mad after seeing what that wiki has so far. Little did I know that there was a majority of vandalism and I thought it was different. If I was harrasing you, I could never appologize enough for my actions! There are two things I would like from you, 1) To begin things again, start out fresh, and 2) Don't hold anything against Quinlanfan, he wasn't the one that was bothering you, don't be mad at him. If there is anything I can do, just let me know and I'll be here faster than a Jedi Knight! Thank you, and again, I am so sorry! supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 14:48, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Help! Edit

I think the Template of the Government infobox is great. Can you teach me how to install it?lexshu 12:05, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
