GuestbookEdit

I see you opened a discussion on the "Senate Hall" about a guestbook and to do list. I can help if you would like. While I have a guestbook on my page, I do not have a to do list, but I think I can still help. Please come over to my page and see if this is what you are talking about. If it is, I will be glad to help, and even add it for you, if you would like! Thank you very much! supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 18:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

  • You're welcome. Although you might want to know that a group of admins decided to forbid guestbooks, so that particular practice has ended. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 03:40, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Secret WeaponEdit

  • In response to the Ferus talk page, the release date was sometime in March. The release date given on the internet was April 1, (I think) but it was released in stores before that. Yes, I think spoiler tags would be good. I also own all seven LotJ books and I should be able to help. --Shadowphobia 12:34, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Hey Hobbes. I've been busy, but I should be able to help expand some stuff on Ferus. And I call Ry-Gaul :) (He needs a complete rewrite.) Nice job on the article. And yay! I'm at the bottom of your page! Lol. Anyway, I should be helping some. User:Shadowphobia/sig

GuestbookEdit

Oh, it's no problem. But I think I should tell you, only some guestbooks are against policy. Ones like I have on my page now, are still okay, just the old neat ones. :-P Well, if you ever need help with anything, you know where to look. supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 17:00, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey Hobbes15 I created a article you wanted try to figure out which!

Re: InquisitoriusEdit

  • Hobbes15, the Inquisitorius meeting times are listed on Inq:Sixth Convention. Note that those numbers do not adjust for Daylight Savings Time! You'll need an IRC client, but you're welcome to join. Myself and another Inquisitor are looking over Ferus atm. We'll get back to you when we're done. Thanks for your help on the article. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 16:16, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Okay, we looked at the section you gave us. First of all, you've definitely made it better. Much of the "poorly written" objection has been addressed. There are still a number of things though, which we'll detail on the Inq page also. It still reads like a play-by-play. Basically, the article doesn't need to contain every little detail, but more of a general overview of Ferus's actions in the book. Some of the phrasing is still a little unencyclopediac "When Ferus shined a glowlight into the fissure, he realized Trever was right.", which also goes along with the play-by-play. I suspect that condensing some of the excessive detail will also answer the "sectioning" objection. And even just starting the sourcing and adding a P&T would help a lot.
In its current revision, Ferus has improved, but in my opinion, not enough to stay a Featured Article. Still a lot to be done. If I can help you with anything (sadly, not actual content, I haven't read those books), let me know, and there are a lot of folks in IRC able to help you. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 16:32, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Oh, and by sourcing, we really mean referencing: You can find what we're talking about here: Wookieepedia:Sourcing. Hope that helps.Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 16:35, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
      • You got it on the referencing. If for example, there was a sentence in Han Solo's article that said "Han Solo attended the Academy on Carida." and the information was obtained from I, Jedi, then you would want to insert a reference at the end of the sentence. That link to Wookieepedia:Sourcing has all the information you need as far as code- if you want to see a FA with sourcing on it, I suggest Jaina Solo, Rokur Gepta, or Quarsh Panaka- all have thorough sourcing. Those little footnotes are the sourcing we're referring to. Fyi, the Inquisitorius meeting starts in an hour and a half in IRC. Images and quotes also need to be sourced- see the example FAs I listed for that. Ferus probably will be de-featured, but you've done good work on it. We may give Ferus an extension of a week for improvement. Keep up the good job, Hobbes. Cheers. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 21:24, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Testing Signature ChangeEdit

I'm sorry Hobbes15, but your description of me on your user page is kind of rude. Also I hope my sig. isn't offending anymore and I will move off of Tigria. I'm extremelly sorry of what I did to get labled that way, but that just isn't right, please change it.

Smell being discovered Edit

  • OK, hunted it down. Is this the one you mean? link Right. This was nominated as a Solo, but thanks to Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Clone Wars, it became a "Repeat," so it's in the archive here. That's why it's not listed under Han in the archive. It's Han, it's Obi-Wan, it's both. It's like "I've got a bad feeling about this." Enochf 20:24, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

FerusEdit

  • Here's some things I noted on a quick lookover of Ferus:
  1. Why did the Masters and apprentices separate? (Evacuation of Radnor) I elaborated upon this.
  2. Copyedit the thing
  3. "maverick, controlling" behavior is a bit POVish Removed.
  4. Ditto on "mature" in the next section Removed.
  5. Basically, watch the POV and try not to use as many subjective adjectives like "cunning" unless it's described that way in the book. Examples below:
    • POV: Ferus was more mature and responsible than Anakin
    • NPOV: Ferus was considered more mature and responsible than Anakin by the Masters.
  6. Infiltrating the school section looks pretty good.
  7. Needs more detail on the medical experiments Anakin experienced.
  8. Quick glance tells me you might want to check your sentence syntax. Lots of ", and" and ", when" that could be altered to make it a more pleasant and diverse chunk of prose. ((Watch out for this!)) Hobbes15(Tiger Headquarters) 01:53, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
  9. The Jenna zan Arbor section has far too much extraneous detail that should be condensed. (Romin especially).
  10. Korriban sections look pretty good
  11. Tru's death (Leaving the Jedi) is never explained. ((To be explained in Underworld section))
  12. Reword this: "Ferus and Roan had also been officers in the Republic Army for sometime." ((Rewrite entire Life on Bellassa section))
  • That's a lot of stuff, and I didn't even give it a thorough read, so I apologize if it seems overwhelming. However, I'm also treating it like it's an FAN and the article is looking much better. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 01:20, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Copyediting is basically going over it and looking for small things- spelling, grammar, etc. that don't require extensive re-writing, but rather making sure the article is free of small flaws that detract from its quality. I think of copyediting as polishing a gem after cutting it- one of the final steps to ensure a great work. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 01:36, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Good Article NominationsEdit

Why did you remove my article nominations? That's not how things are done around here. If you see something wrong with said articles, you're supposed to say something about it in the "oppose" section...not delete the article nomination from the registry. Pelmarn Da'kari 05:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Jenna Zan Arbor - Last of the Jedi: Against the Empire Edit

Hi! You wondered where I got the information about Jenna Zan Arbor being in "the Last of the Jedi: Against the Empire", since the book is not released until October 1. Answer: The book can already be bought on Amazon, [[1]], and that's how I got it. -Nightlily-

Ferus OlinEdit

Hey Hobbes, if you have any more problems with anon edits to the Ferus Olin article, let me know and I'll take the appropriate actions. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 23:29, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Ya, the reason I didn't include Ulic's second trip to Yavin IV is twofold: a)his second trip really didn't add anything past what was explained about his first trip, and b)I initially had it in there how Hoggon took Ulic to Rhen Var, but in an effort to condense the section so it wasn't so large (which was an objection via IRC), I edited it out to what it currently is. All the Ulic stuff was carefully thought out by me before writing the article ;) As for the Conclave at Exis Station, I can add that in and don't see a problem at all with doing that. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 00:54, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
    • Well, the reason Hoggon wasn't described in detail was that "The Redemption of Ulic Qel-Droma" was aimed at showing how Ulic was changed by the war and the outcome it had on his life after the war. It was decided via IRC that Hoggon, and all other "fat" detail would be trimmed from the article since it didn't really add what that section was trying to capture—indeed, it belonged in both Ulic's and Hoggon's respective articles. That section was quite large in the GSW article when I initially nominated it, and one of the major objections to it's FAN was the size of it and that it had a lot of needless details which were not relevant to the fallout of the Great Sith War. Anyways, as we speak, I'm adding the requested section on Exis Station. Thanks for your input. Greyman(Paratus) 01:06, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
      • No problem at all, Hobbes. I appreciate you taking the time to over the Great Sith War even after it has become an FA. Thanks again, Greyman(Paratus) 01:12, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Pit Droid Award of Diligence Edit

thumb|The Pit Droid Award of Diligence I, Graestan the Mighty, hereby award the highly worthy Hobbes15 the Dedicated the Pit Droid Award of Diligence for his delightful propriety with the featured article nomination page and his tireless work on reviewing articles. He is never afraid to critique any article and aims to read every nomination that passes him by. Additionally, he is exceedingly modest and a fanatical flagellant with incredible self-discipline. He's earned it, regardless of what he might tell you.—Graestan(This party's over) 05:32, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

  • Meh. I appreciate it, Graestan, but as I stated IIRC, I really don't believe I deserve this anywhere near as much as most other active users. Thanks anyway, though; I know you disagree :-p. Hobbes(Tiger's Lair) 05:47, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Temporary Departure Edit

  • Unfortunately, I've come to the conclusion that I can't keep contributing to Wookieepedia at the level I currently am and remain completely sane. Rapidly increasing homework levels and overall RL business have made me realize this, so I'll be editing very little until February (I'll still check my talk every once and a while). Although my contributions will be down when I get back, I will try and keep critiqing FAN's as always, and maybe write a little. Anywho, keep up the great work everyone, and I'll be back in February. It'll be interesting to see how much better the Wiki is then. Hobbes(Tiger's Lair) 22:56, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Results of the Dec. 15th Inq meeting Edit

"Hobbes, you are already an Inq. Take up The Stamp, and use it where you see fit."
―Graestan[src]

With little or no regard to your stated intention to neglect the Wook for a couple of months, the Inquisitorius has decided to make you one of their number, should you accept the honor. And you should, because you need to understand that in no way is this a demand for you to step up activity. Just consider yourself a member of the Inq; whenever you review or vote on an article, consider it an Inq review or an Inq vote.— Graestan(This party's over) 01:48, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Nyrox Edit

Hey, Hobbes. In all honesty, I skimmed over your changes really quick and reverted pretty hastily without really looking and what you did indeed change. My reason for reverting was because I like the BTS to be in the present tense, as opposed to the past tense of the article. If you made some change that I shouldn't have removed, feel free to go back and change it. And thanks for your support! Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:28, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Zekka Thyne again Edit

Hey, you may remember that I asked you for some help in looking over Zekka Thyne as a possible FA a few months back. I disappeared for a while, but am now back, and I believe the SWG problem that had been vexing me has now been resolved. I was hoping you wouldn't mind looking at the nomination again and either supporting it or letting me know if anything else needs to be done. Sorry to bother you again, but I think it's almost ready to be featured. Thanks! --Colinmcev 06:43, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Problem with Evir Derricote page Edit

Hey man. I've got a quick question for you. I'm readying Evir Derricote for an FA nomination and I'm almost done, but on my last update (adding Personality and Traits) I was warned that the page is getting rather large. Then when I finished the last update, the page doesn't include anything after the second paragrapoh of the P&T section. There is more after it, and when I hit edit I can see it in there, but on the page itself there's nothing.

I'm not sure if this is a temporary problem, and perhaps it'll all be better by the time you look at it, but do you have any idea why this is or how I can fix it? I know the page is long, but obviously there are much larger pages so I didn't think that was a problem.

Any help you can give would be much obliged. Thanks!

--Colinmcev 06:49, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

April editionEdit

A message from the project manager
Continuing on Project Wormhead!
Hello again! It's April, and that means it's time for an update. I avoided doing this on April 1st because of all the craziness going on, but here we are. There's no denying that we're behind. I'm very busy in RL and juggling several wiki-related projects also, so I haven't been contributing as much either. That's okay, though, as long as we catch up (i.e. summer, as a lot of folks will be out of school and all that.) There's also a new way to contribute, and something that everyone can do. Since we don't have a timeline of appearance/sources yet, I started one on the second page. I didn't give it a very large list to start with, so fill in the gaps whenever you see them. If someone wants to start doing a similar segment for sources, that'd be great. I hope that we'll get back on course with the expansions soon, but regardless, let's see how April plays out. A message from the project manager
A belated update on Project Wormhead Project Wormhead!
Sorry about the delay in getting this out. I was on vacation at the beginning of the month and forgot about it. First, let me thank a number of people for their efforts on the project this past month: Greyman, for his work on the Marvel expansions. Jaina Solo added information from Star Wars Union, and a couple other people have made smaller edits as well. That's very encouraging and I thank all of you for your help. For the moment, I have to say that Luke isn't my priority at the moment-I'm working pretty hard on finishing Wraith Squadron, but once that's done, I will be back to work . In other news, Project Wormhead has now surpassed the actual Luke Skywalker article in content and will soon pass up Palpatine. It'll probably take us another month to pass up Mr. Horn, though. Anyway, keep up the good work. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 18:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Just in case you're curious as to where this little project stands, here are the statistics:
  1. Total length: 309 kilobytes, which is 90 KB longer than the actual Luke Skywalker article. Does not include material on the second page.
  2. 110 sources crossed off the expansion list.
  3. Unique references: 143
  4. Net growth over 2008: 180 KB.

I realize that the original goal I set—which was to nominate Luke for GA by the end of 2008—was not accomplished. For one, I didn't know exactly how much stuff there is out there on Luke. Turns out, about half of all continuity. Two, I've been distracted with other, smaller projects, particularly over the past few months. However, I've not given up on this idea, and I'm hoping to get a lot more of it done in 2009! Cheers. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 20:23, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Hey Edit

Nice to see you dropped by on the RCs. Drop us a line sometime; your talents are sorely missed! Graestan(Talk) 03:35, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
