Is the "f" in "from" capitalized or not? --Nostalgia of Iran (talk) 17:11, March 5, 2019 (UTC)

Images for education use Edit

Hi JMAS, I am a tutor for the Web & UX Design programme at Yoobee School of Design in Christchurch, New Zealand and I would like to seek permission for my students to use selected images of yours that are hosted on Fandom for their course exercises. One of our projects is to build a Star Wars themed website and they require a source for imagery. These projects would be only used in an educational context and we would require the students to attribute you (a link to your profile page on Fandom?) in the footer of their sites. An example of an image to be used in a student web project would be one of the planet Naboo: Thank you for your consideration. Regards, Richard --Richjava (talk) 22:45, March 6, 2019 (UTC) Richjava (talk) 22:45, March 6, 2019 (UTC)

  • Permission denied. Other than a single image on my user page, none of the images I have uploaded belong to me. They are copyrighted and legally owned by Lucasfilm Ltd and or their respective artists & publishers. They are not being "hosted" here. They are being used under the terms of {{Fairuse}}. Wookieepedia and Fandom are not sources. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 06:11, March 8, 2019 (UTC)

Gallery request Edit

Can you copy the images from here: to the gallery pages of their characters? --Blockade3 (talk) 00:08, March 15, 2019 (UTC)

  • If there is room for any of the images to be used in the Behind the scenes sections of any pages, I'm sure they will get used. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 05:40, March 16, 2019 (UTC)

Gallery request part 2 Edit

Mistake on Cavalier One's talk page noted. Are the photo's i mentioned on a sort of schedule? --Blockade3 (talk) 20:34, March 15, 2019 (UTC)

  • Let's be very clear. If you see images in a gallery on Cavalier One's page, it means he is temporarily placing them there while he's working on a project - it's not a mistake or error. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 13:59, April 29, 2019 (UTC)

Why are you so obsessed with images?--2600:387:4:803:0:0:0:66 01:55, April 29, 2019 (UTC)

  • Simple, it's what I enjoy doing. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 14:03, April 29, 2019 (UTC)

Sorry about the mixup with the images - Red Duel 13:44, April 30, 2019 (UTC)

  • Actually, you weren't wrong. I was just looking at the sources displayed on both the images. But looking at the Conversion kit, the image you had placed in the Canon article is both in the original X-Wing and the Second Edition it is both Legends and Canon. But since the one I have in there now is ONLY Second Edition, let's leave it in the Canon article. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 13:48, April 30, 2019 (UTC)
    • sounds good to me. - Red Duel 14:00, April 30, 2019 (UTC)

Question on a Destiny CardEdit

Could the card Endless Ranks from Awakenings be used as a canon source? Other cards from that set are used for Legends, and the image was first used for legends.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 00:15, May 28, 2019 (UTC)

  • Awakenings has both Canon and Legends content in it. As Awakenings was released in 2016, and that illustration was originally released in the Legends book The Essential Guide to Warfare I'd have to say it remains only in the Legends continuity. Which is why I believe I placed it there. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 01:38, May 28, 2019 (UTC)
    • Thank you.--Editoronthewiki (talk) 01:41, May 28, 2019 (UTC)
      • Now, if the image gets used in a straight Canon source, then it can be used in both Legends and Canon pages. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 03:23, May 28, 2019 (UTC)
        • Another question: would the Droid Commandos card from the Star Wars: Destiny Two-Player Game work as a canon source?--Editoronthewiki (talk) 03:55, May 29, 2019 (UTC)
          • As far as I know, yes, that image would be Canon as the Two-Player Game was released in 2017. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 04:00, May 29, 2019 (UTC)
            • Thank you. But also, I have another one. Is [1] canon?--Editoronthewiki (talk) 19:34, June 6, 2019 (UTC)
              • AFIAK, that card/image should be considered canon, as it was released in 2017. I have the card art for that image already cropped and ready to upload if you have a page to use it in. Just let me know. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 13:37, June 7, 2019 (UTC)
            • Well, back onto the commando droid card, it appears to be similar to File:CoolWatch.jpg from Scavenger's Guide to Droids. So, if it turns out to be from that book, it should be considered Legends?--Editoronthewiki (talk) 00:20, June 19, 2019 (UTC)
              • File:CoolWatch.jpg is Legends, without question. This image is by the artist Ameen Naksewee, who has only done Star Wars art for FFG products. so that image of a commando droid would be Canon, as it was released in 2017. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 02:46, June 19, 2019 (UTC)

Image syntax Edit

Hey, JMAS! I noticed that you reverted some of Rgilbert's image edits. AFAIK, Wookieepedia doesn't have any guidelines about the syntax for displaying images, but promoted articles here consistently practice the order "[[File:Name|Type|Location|Size|Caption]]," so that's probably the way to go. Just thought I'd give a heads up! - Cwedin(talk) 06:36, May 28, 2019 (UTC)

Image requestEdit

Hey JMAS, could you upload new versions of the images in Bray (stormtrooper)? (Not File:Bray FN-2187 and co.png though as you already fixed that one)

File:Bray tests his flamethrower.png and File:Bray is overwhelmed.png at the least. Thank you and sorry for a large request--Editoronthewiki (talk) 19:36, August 6, 2019 (UTC)

Hey JMAS, I know it was a long time ago but would you mind providing the source for where you got this image from? It looks way too clean to be scanned. Thanks, Tommy Imperial Emblem Macaroni 21:04, September 11, 2019 (UTC)

  • Sorry for the delay. Been in process of moving. Currently in temporary housing with a friend. My computer is in storage, which is where I might be able to figure out where I got the image from. I'm on my tablet currently. Going to be at least a couple weeks before I might be able to get you an answer. Sorry. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 02:35, September 21, 2019 (UTC)
    • Nah that's fine, no rush. Tommy Imperial Emblem Macaroni 16:45, September 22, 2019 (UTC)
      • Any luck with this? Tommy Imperial Emblem Macaroni 08:04, October 21, 2019 (UTC)
        • Sadly, no. Still in limbo. The remodel timeline on the house we'll be moving into was severely underestimated. Anticipate to be moving on the 1st of November. JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 05:22, October 22, 2019 (UTC)
        • Found it! It's from the official Star Wars Tumblr Spotlight of the Week. Here is the link, but unfortunately, the fandom bug won't allow http:// or https:// to be added to an uploaded image page. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 06:06, October 22, 2019 (UTC)
          • Ah cool, thanks for finding that. Yeah the only way to bypass that bug is to use {{subst:https}} instead of "https://". Good luck with your move! Tommy Imperial Emblem Macaroni 15:21, October 22, 2019 (UTC)

Leia Image Crop Edit

Good evening,

On this image: [File:Leia Organa TROS.png], I understand what you are trying to say, that the space from the top of her head to both sides is even, but because she is slightly turned it does not look centered in the info box. Also, cropping it so the same amount of shoulder is showing on both sides makes the image appear more even and even if centering it the nose makes it slightly off center to the left, it looks better than being off center to the right simply because of the rules of off center framing in terms of photographic composition. It is better to have space in the direction the subject is facing, rather than behind the subject. My crop gives the illusion of being centered when displayed in the infobox even when it is technically not. The crop as it stands now, because it is off center in the wrong direction, makes an image that already is off center because Leia is turned, look even more off centered and sloppily cropped. Can we please change it to my crop? I'm not trying to be a contrarian, it simply looks cleaner (from a perspective of composition) the way I have cropped it --Benjay2345 (talk) 03:27, January 2, 2020 (UTC)

TROS Collector's Guide Edit

As you have been uploading images from the Collector's Guide I assume you must have found a pdf of the guide online somewhere. I've saved pdf's of all of the past films on my computer and can't find this one. Could you point me in the right direction if you have found one?

Thanks so much --Benjay2345 (talk) 03:53, January 2, 2020 (UTC)

  • I accessed it through a MEGA share. But access is by invitation and can't be given out except by the owner of the share. It might also be publicly shared on the Star Wars thread over at the Kaskus forums. A google search should pull it up if it's been shared there. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 04:37, January 2, 2020 (UTC)
