Mandalorian Wars Edit

Hey,

What we've recently learned concerning potential the start-date of the Mandalorian Wars comes from the new Dark Horse series, particularly with the recent #0 issue's "Taris Newsfeed" feature -- it states that "the last Mandalorian conquest in the Outer Rim occurred over a year ago" (or words to that effect, which (come to think) hypothetically moves that date back at least as far as 3,966 BBY.

Although too, we do know from sources like the New Essential Chronology that the Mandos kicked off their war of subjugation around something like 3,995 BBY (the year after the Great Sith War ended), but those were all the way out in the sticks -- off the Republic's radar screens -- and most in-universe sources tend to begin chronicling the so-called "Mandalorian Wars" from the point where the Republic and the Jedi first got involved, which is much later down the timeline, and closer to the start-date of the KotOR comics series. (We don't really have much info on those early, early battles, and they were largely probing-strikes against lesser worlds anyhow.)

I do occasionally wish that John Jackson Miller had been *slightly* more consistent with the literal chapter-and-verse from the video games (getting Darth Nuke-ish, here), but 90% of the rest of the time, I feel that shaking up our expectations on this subject can only be what Martha Stewart used to call A Good Thing. Either way, it's shaping up to be a very, very interesting run on this series.

The Bandsaw Vigilante

Actually, I think the bulk of the conversational history concerning the battles comes during talks with Candalore, the other clansmen in the Dxun camp, and down on Onderon (the guardsmen and others). Much of the textual backstory comes from a couple of datacards that you find on various corpses in the Dxun jungles.

Was trying to track down the Canderous convo-file through the Obsidian boards and through Google, but I didn't have a good deal of luck with it; there was another hard drive of mine which bore it early this past year, but it suffered internal damage around March(-ish).

Hi,

I think I still have some dialogue laying around here and there on my old PC, but there was this one conversation-recording project going on awhile back over at the Obsidian boards...been some time since I downloaded them, but they were transcribing the each character's dialogue into MS Word format for reference purposes.

Found one of them (Atton Rand...an RTF file):

crimsonkeep.com/downloads/kotor2sound/at-jedi-dia.rtf

The rest I'm still having trouble tracking down, but they're probably out there somewheres. At any rate, it's a nice resource to have.

The Bandsaw Vigilante

Evidence for the Second Battles of Dxun and Onderon during the Mandalorian Wars:

  • It is stated in the game that the Mandalorians started their "march of conquest" at Dxun, raining down their ships and troops onto Onderon. The battle itself lasts only a few hours.
  • The Mandalorian occupation lasts for a number of years. Revan's re-liberation is established in the game as occurring at the very end of the war, not long before Malachor V.
  • Much of this history comes from encounters on Dxun itself, up to and including flashback conversations and a number of datacards discovered on corpses providing ample information and datelocks on many of these events.
  • In order for there to have been a liberation of Onderon, it logically follows that there would have had to have been a second campaign waged on the Dxun moon...which the game clearly specifies.
  • These principles have been discussed and vetted for nearly a full year now over on the TF.N Literature Forum boards, the Obsidian boards, and over at the Official SW Boards, and have not been contested in any way, shape, or form before this. These entries likewise come from extensive notetaking between these groups.

No problem. Battles, wars, and political articles are my favorite to work on, so the pleasure was...well, maybe not all mine. Kuralyov 03:51, 6 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Is Jasca Ducato an official character? Edit

Is this character included in any publication, or is he just your made up fantasy? I thought this site was supposed to only have cannonical stuff. 121 ABY?! That is, as far as I know, more than 80 years after any official fictional story in the star wars universe is supposed to take place. It really would be nice not to have people make up unofficial characters and their stories on a whim, and post them. If you want to be included in the Star Wars universe, go and get something approved by Lucas and published.[Unsigned comment by 141.195.140.105 ]

  • It's only on his user page, and I believe you can put anything you like on your user page. It's not like he's filling the Wiki with fanon: it's only on his user page. --Azizlight 23:38, 13 Sep 2005 (UTC)
  • I understand what you mean (name) but like Azizlight said. He's on my user page, so no, he's not a canonical character but i just wrote it up anyways. Did you like it? Jasca Ducato 14:18, 14 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I know i'm a bit late, as this conversation ended flipping ages ago!!!!!! But i think the story is wicked, i'm addicted! weird as that sounds, i was up till 1:00 in the morning reading it! BIG FAN! I want to know what happens after the prison!

  • Thanks, i cant reveal much more information until LOTF is released unfortunately. Jasca Ducato 19:22, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

PS Who said they went into a prison?

Sorry about previous postingEdit

Sorry, I didn't look at the page close enough. I only saw the familiar character summary box, and skimmed the character description. I did'nt see the user designation. I figured somebody was just making up their own character and trying to pass them off as one from the books or something. Interesting story, anyway though.[Unsigned comment by 141.195.140.105 ]

Jango Fett and SuperShadow Edit

Jango was a Mandalorian, but not a member of the Mandalorian species, he was a human. I think this is what the contributor meant. - Sikon [Talk] 05:59, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • That was what I meant when I put it in. -- SFH 06:04, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • I understand your meaning, but that was his 'species'. If you put it under his affiliation i wouldn't mind so much. Sorry if i came across strong. Jasca Ducato 09:37, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Sith Civil War quote Edit

Someone asking "do the Sith have a lot of civil wars?" doesn't really relate to the article, especially since the Exile was asking about earlier dissention among the Sith. It's like puttin in Revan's "Who's Bastila?" question as the opening quote for her article. The original quote was better, because Visas was descriibng the situation at the time: the Soth were all scrambling for the remains of their empire. Kuralyov 19:14, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Visas was explaining the Sith situation to the Exile. The fact that various Sith Lords fought each other for power after their defeat in the war doesn't really have anything to do with the Exile, other than the fact that two of the victorious lords started hunting him down. Kuralyov 19:23, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

SuperShadow quotation Edit

Hey Jasca Ducato. While flavorful, the Nathan Butler quotation regarding SuperShadow does nothing but show one man's frustration. Besides adding nothing to the article, it also advocates violence against a specific person, which is not only a violation of Wikia's terms but also something in which Wookieepedia should not be involved. Please stop adding it. --SparqMan 20:33, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Red SithEdit

Could you please cite a source for him being the First? So far, in his two appearances, I have yet to find a quote or passage that names him the first.Cull Tremayne 05:09, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Dark JediEdit

Hi. I was was wondering why you removed the statement that Revan and Malak were Dark Jedi in the Sith Empire (Jedi Civil War) artilce. Its not a major deal, of course, but I am curious... ;)--Sentry 18:38, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Soiyo category Edit

Though your bio pages are very nicely done, I think you need to de-categorize User:Jasca Ducato/The Soiyo so it doesn't show up in the canon category list. —Darth Culator (talk) 17:22, 1 March 2006 (UTC) Revan and Malak were never dark jedi after they went into unknown space, the Republic lost contact and they found the Star Forge. Then Revan took the Mantle of the Dark Lord and Malak stole it later do you see dark jedi of the Sith Empire in their history?

Sub-pagesEdit

Er... How do you make sub pages, that Soiyo one is really cool, so could you tell me? User: Ruffles

Re: Legacy Era Sith Edit

Re: ScreenshotsEdit

Hy, would you be so kind as to tell me how you managed to take screenshots of the computer as you have done here. I could really use knowledge like this.

  • Ya, I just used the standard 'Print Screen' key while working with Windows XP – nothing special. After that, I pasted the captured screenshots, one at a time, into Photoshop (you could use Paint or another native image editing application if you are really desperate) where I resized them and saved em as compressed JPEG's. Then, I hosted them for free over at ImageShack...

Also, do you know how to check the history of whats been on a screen just incase i need to search up so info. Many thanks, Jasca Ducato 17:09, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

  • Hmmm... I'm not sure what you mean. I'm assuming that you are not speaking about the browser's page history. If your are talking about searching through a history of what has been displayed on the monitor, in general, there is no such record stored by any OS that I am aware of. That is, unless you have installed a type of key logging software ;).--Sentry 22:26, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Tiny thingEdit

Hey, well I saw a tiny tiny 'mistake' to call it. In one of your head lines it says: Fall the the dark side. and I think you meant Fall to the dark side. And since I think it's rude to just go and edite some one's personal page I thought I let you know about it this way grtz. Galedze, your welcome

Replied.

ApologyEdit

Yeah, sorry about all those Revan edits - that was me (once again forgetting to log in). I was actually using the preview function, and everything would look fine. Then I'd post it, read through it again and see a *glaring* mistake. It was driving me to extreme lengths of frustration. I'm not usually that bad! *cries* Honest! :'( (Ulicus 17:46, 14 June 2006 (UTC))

SW Fanon Edit

  • Sorry for the intrusion, but I just can't figure out what the hell (some) people's problem is with how a person makes his own page.

I mean come one just look at Jasca's page it's a well organized page and personnaly I like that page more then well certain 'canon' pages. Just let people be, it's there page let them do with it what they want.Galedze 17:01, 26 june 2006

LotR Wiki Edit

Heyo Jasca, just saw you made some edits on the LotR Wikia, glad to see another Tolkien fan. Most of us edit over at Tolkien Gateway, you might want to take a look at it as two wikis on the same subject can be rather conflicting. You'll find quite a few Wookieepedians over there as well. Keep up the great work! --Hyarion 01:07, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

Luke Skywalker deadEdit

It was me who had been removing the dagger from beside Luke's name on the NJO page. I thought it had been added on the premise that all those Jedi would be dead by 140 ABY even if not documented. I see that it was actually added because of the Force ghost appearance in Legacy. Sorry about that. I won't remove it. --Eyrezer 23:49, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Question about Aftermath battle of duro imgageEdit

Hello there, I wonderd if you don't mind if I place your image of the aftermath of the battle of Duro on my user page. I won't place it untill I have heard you don't mind. Greatings, Galedze 13:06, 3 October 2006

Be niceEdit

Please don't call people "morons" in the edit summaries. That was their first ever edit (possibly now their last), and your rude comment gives them a very bad first impression of the entire Wookieepedia community. --Azizlight 09:58, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Nice work with the battle categories, but you might like to make the Nagai one, with a dash to keep it in line with the article title, ie Category:Battles of the Nagai-Tof War. --Eyrezer 11:48, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Anakin/Vader merger Edit

I went to the chat and talked to a few admins. • Sure thing: User page policy. User page fan fiction must be restricted to either the main user page or a single subpage. This does not mean a user can put fanon on both a user page and a subpage, or on a series of subpages. Users who want to make more than one fan fiction page are encouraged to use links to the fanon wiki instead. ~ from the aforelinked page. • I just go with what I read. It's not my problem, and I don't consider it relevant to my edits here on Wookieepedia. I'll let the admins sort out the matter, if it comes to their attention, and wish you a good week. Cheers. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 23:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
          • P.S. And length isn't a big deal at all. Palp's article is 200 kilobytes, Luke is 140. My own personal fanfic page is about 60ish. How can an article get too big? Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 23:06, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

StopEdit

Stop trying to antagonize Fourdot. He did nothing wrong except use a little too much sarcasm. You can't blend that and a haphazardly claim of, "insulting" you and turn a simple difference in opinion into a personal vendetta that you can drag Jack into as "evidence". I'm sorry, but I really don't like you.--Vladius Magnum(Clan Magnum)25px

Dark Lords of the Sith Edit

Hey, you recently removed Traya and Sion from the Dark Lord page, stating that they were not Dark Lords, yet leaving Nihilus. I was wondering why exactly you think that Traya and Sion wern't Dark Lords (when I am certain Traya was, at least) and yet you left Nihilus? As far as I am aware, Traya was indeed a Dark Lord before she was cast down by Sion and Nihilus. The Haunted Angel 16:22, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Jango Fett as a jedi hunterEdit

  • Hey Jasca, I would like to talk to you and sort out the issue of Jango Fett being listed as a Jedi hunter on the Jedi hunter page. You did not respond to my comment on the talk page and only made a footnote on the page in dispute. I think we should sort this out together. Jango can fit the discription of what a Jedi hunter is. Sure he didn't make a living killing Jeid all the time, but he killed Jedi for all the reasons a Jedi hunter would. Now I know you disagree with this, but the fact remains that you give little to no reasons as to what does not make him a Jedi hunter. There is no canon evidence that he wasn't, it is simply your opinion. Also, the Star Wars Miniatures game, a canonistic source, and the Star Wars Role Playing Game, another canonistic source, says Jango is a Jedi hunter. And this encyclopedia is based on canon, not opinion. Therefore, it is my opinion that Jango should stay on the list of Jedi hunters, at least until another canonistic source specifically says that he isn't. Please tell me what you think. Jango Fett107 02:30, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Fanon Wiki Edit

Hey, Jasca. I voted against the Fanon Wiki being an official friend of Wookieepedia becuase I feel that while fanon bios are cool, that wiki is just too far from Wookieepedia. They deal only with user creations, while we focus only on facts. Also, it may give some anons misconceptions. I just don't like being too closely affiliated with a Wiki that focuses only non-canon things anyone can dream up. You have a cool fanon biography BTW. Chack Jadson 22:47, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Just wondering about this. What do you mean it's not real? Amazon.com has it listed here. If that's not real, I think it might at least deserve a mention explaining it, because I know I'm certainly confused. Wildyoda 20:22, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Dark Lords of the SithEdit

As you have been maintaining the Dark Lord of the Sith page, you may want to take a look at some of the contested Dark Lords, to see what is confusing people into continually putting them. For example, under Kreia and Darth Nihilius, Kreia is placed in the timeline at the bottom of the page as a Dark Lord of the Sith. Also, Darth Bandon started off with a sentence that said Darth Bandon was a Human and Dark Lord of the Sith. I already removed it, but you see what I'm getting at. MPD and Earth references Edit

I don't see how use of the terms "schizophrenia" and "multiple personality disorder" are references to Earth. I'd see your point if a term like "Crohn's disease", "Marfan syndrome", or some other medical or psychological condition named after a real historical figure had been used. However, since it's already been established that the Star Wars universe has humans and aliens with human-like psyches, it's no surprise that they might be diagnosed with similar medical and psychological symptoms. Unless the name of the diagnosis contains a specific Earth reference, I don't think it should count. —Silly Dan (talk) 21:46, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

2-1B Edit

  • Can you give me a reason why you reverted my updates to 2-1B? Everything is correctly canon and sourced properly. If you cannot, I'm afraid I'll have to replace it. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:21, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
    • Then perhaps you could have rewritten what I posted, instead of deleting it entirely. Just because some of my writing wasn't necessarily up to encyclopedia standards doesn't make it incorrect. You could have also not removed some of the links I incorporated. Please, we're all here for the sake of community, not to be mindless, agenda-seeking editors. Help, don't destroy. Please allow me to fix my mistakes. And please be more helpful next time. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:30, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Again, you seem to be missing the point of why we're all here. Let's try to put this childish bickering behind us and do what's best for the community. I'm willing to be reasonable and fix what mistakes you believe I've made, but you will not allow this to be out of your own selfish pride. If you will not be reasonable and allow me to fix my mistakes, please do so yourself. If you do not, you will be doing the community a disservice. The article is poorly written to begin with and is lacking considerable history. We're not here to argue with each other and create havoc. The article needs fixing. Period. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:41, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
        • It would be my pleasure to fix the article. Again, this is why we're here. I understand that calling you names can be annoying, and I apologize. But hopefully, you will be able to also empathize with me and see how annoying what you've done to me is. My information was not incorrect or non-canon, it just apparently wasn't sourced correctly. I fixed several previous grammatical errors and created useful links to other pages in addition to my inclusion of new history. It is annoying when all of that is deleted in one fell swoop instead of simply taking the time to go in and fix the mistakes I've made. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:48, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
          • Finally, the final part of my edit here, the part about him being reassigned before the "Redemption" was destroyed, is technically speculation, I understand, but if you are going to change that part, how, may I ask would you reword it? We have no canonical proof that he was reassigned, but he couldn't possibly have been on board while it was destroyed by the Death Star and still show up years later. No one aboard any ship that was obliterated by the Death Star's superlaser would have had time to jettison in an escape pod. So, for the time being, I'm going to post this edit. Why revert my edits on Battle of Rakatan Prime?Edit

From what was shown in the cutscenes of the final battle, one Republic Blockade Runner was taken out in the opening shots, and two Interdictor-class Star Cruisers were destroyed at the ending of the battle.

Fanon limit Edit

Dialog-error

Your fan fiction is over 250 words long.

Your userpage currently breaches the officially adopted limit of 250 words for fanon works. Please trim it down to an appropriate length over the next two weeks, or steps will be taken.

You may find that the Star Wars Fanon Wiki is more suited to your fanoneering needs.

Please be aware that if you refuse to comply, you may be blocked from editing in the future for a fanon word limit breach.

Revan into the unknown Edit

So you think my edits were speculative, I thought I was removing speculations myself, everything I wrote was backed with thorough referencing, what was there before, say Revan returning to Korriban after defeating Malak, was certainly not. If you're going to undo my edits at least make some points here and explain what is it you think is speculation. Thank you.--Jinger 02:11, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

In-useEdit

While you may have had good reason to do so, please do not edit articles with the {{inuse}} tag on them. It's really not all that difficult to suggest whatever you want done on the article's talk page, or on the talk page of the user who added it. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 22:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Per AdmirableAckbar. If you have a problem with something that I did, leave it out of the damn edit summaries. Take it to the talk pages. Myself, and other admins, have blocked other users for this before and for much less. Take that as you'd like. That's the only warning I'm handing out about that. Greyman(Paratus) 22:31, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
    • FYI, the formatting is being discussed in IRC. The reason you received the warning was because of the manner in which you approached the situation. It's better to discuss it on user talk or IRC before charging in. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 22:37, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Revan Edit

Hello, Jasca Ducato. Why do you keep reverting my edits? I'm not mad at you, of course, I just wanna know why you keep reverting when in truth they are miniscule. In my opinion, it makes sense to say, "Revan was a human male who was an enigmatic Jedi Knight", rather than saying that he was a enigmatic human male who just happened to be a Jedi Knight. And the term, "Once nicknamed" doesn't really seem professional. Please leave me a message on my talk page--Jedi Kasra 00:56, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

  • What about the "human male" part? Articles such as Luke Skywalker, Jacen Solo, or Mara Jade Skywalker don't have the "human male/female" part in their opening paragraphs. Plus, I didn't think it was part of Wookieepedia's policy to deal in assumptions. Although I agree with you that Revan might have been enigmatic even if he wasn't a Jedi, there really is no concrete proof that he would have been.--Jedi Kasra 23:53, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Spoiler periodEdit

It's policy to still add spoilers to articles inside of the one month period, just not to merge them entirely so people don't stumble upon a spoiler by accident. So please stop reverting on Morrigan Corde; you've already been reverted by an admin and a bureaucrat. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 19:15, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Revan and "possible" quotes Edit

Hi, Jasca Ducato. What's wrong with mentioning the fact the Revan "possibly" said "What can I say? I'm a talented individual." He doesn't have to say that. It's all player's choice. The only definite things he says are what he says in the comics and in his holocron, and of course, the most light-sided choices in the conversations he ha swith people. Please leave me a message on my talk page.--Zhran 02:29, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Re:Reverts Edit

I reverted because site policy is for appearances to be ordered in chronological order, not by issue number. Last I checked, issue 8 comes after issue 1 chronologically. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 17:50, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Duel picture Edit

Hello, why did you revert my edit to Revan's article? You could see what was happening in the picture I used much better than the other one. Drewton 20px (Drewton's Holocron) 20:13, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

3RR warning Edit

Jasca, you are perilously close to being in violation of Wookieepedia's 3RR rule. You've been reverting and edit warring with many users over the Revan article for quite some time now, and it would be in your best interest to let it go. In this instance, you have little reason for reverting other than the fact that "you don't like it," without even having the sense of courtesy to do a little checking up and maybe discussing with the people you are in contention with as to why something has been changed. Please consider this your friendly, non-admin warning before you find yourself in trouble. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:32, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
