Sith names and title Edit

Hello, the article for Darth has some great info on how the title Darth came to be. As for specific names, any real meaning only comes from any resemblance to english words. Maul (like an animal mauls, bites), Sidious (like insidious), Plagueis (like plague), Vader (like invader, also Dutch for Father), Tenebrous (root word for darkness), Bane (like, the bane of one's existence), Cognus (root word for mind, reflects her telepathy), Gravid (might come from being grave/serious, or from gravitas/importance), and Thanaton (from thanatos, a desire for death). Sometimes there is an in-universe explanation, as with Darth Caedus, which is actually derived from the latin for "cutting down, killing, slaughtering", and in-universe is defined as "a battle of darkness", per the Darth Who Contest. But yeah, the most insight you'll get is comparing to actual English words or their origins. I hope that helps.
