FrenchEdit

Greetings...I've noticed that you stated you can speak French...I was just wondering if you're able to translate from French to English? If so, I have a bunch of magazines which contain Star Wars material not available in English. If you'd like to help translate them, then please leave a message on my talk page. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 22:44, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Maps Edit

Oh yea. Please do. I'm well aware that these maps are more than terrible. Please also see http://users.skynet.be/mark.dermul/tatooine2003/intro.htm for more maps. I asked him if I could just upload them, but he didn't sound interested. But you can well use them as reference. Please let me know if you need any help. I also encourage you to try and make a map of Death Valley. --Steinninn 15:23, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

  • I was thinking about in the near future to do something like this Template:United_States_Labelled_Map on most of the maps. It's seems complicated. What do you think? --Steinninn 18:27, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Well it seems damn complicated! :-) Too much time and too much effort for me. I made a new Tunisia map from the Wikipedia one, I'll upload it. I just hope it's ok for the rules, use and all... Klow 19:39, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
      • I'm sure you are alowed to use it acording to the rules and all. But they are missing the roads, that's kind of sad :'( --Steinninn 13:12, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
        • Any updates on thouse maps? Mine still s**k. And I still haven't bought photoshop. :( --Steinninn 23:12, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

hi Edit

hi my name is Stryker and I wanted to say quinlan does rock. Stryker 14:52, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

  • You're right. He definitely rocks. Hope he's one of the main characters of the upcoming live-action tv series. ;-) Klow 15:40, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

PicturesEdit

Please don't take pictures of your television set anymore. You're ruining the website quality and make us waste our time... If you want a picture, ask for it, or wait to have the proper devices to take good quality pics. I know you might never read this, but anyway... Klow 09:57, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

  • I was in Tunisia at the time. I did my best, I didn't have all the hardware with me that I have now. I was just trying to make Wookieepedia a little better. I'm sorry if my help is not wanted. --Steinninn 12:54, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
    • We do appreciate the help and effort, but if you're stuck in a situation where you have insufficient technology to get screenshots, feel free to ask around on the forums, talk pages, or Wookieepedia:Image requests. Usually, someone will be able to get a good image grab. jSarek 13:35, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Bureaucrat on Cloverpedia Edit

I was to lazy to ask on Cloverpedia, but, user Lily Ford wants to become a Moderator, since I can't grant permission for that stuff I was hoping if you would make me a bureaucrat, so can you please? and if you don't then can grant access for Lily Ford to be a moderator/SysOp?  •|Userpage (User Talkpage •|• Contribs) 22:14, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Warning Edit

Don't put images up for deletion that link to hundreds of articles. If there is a duplicate image, go replace all the duplicates yourself so that redlinks aren't created when the administration goes to delete the image. If you want an image gone, do the legwork yourself, please. Graestan(Talk) 17:42, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Sorry, I check all the time for links, and this time I forgot. I'll do it! It's sad that on this website no one ever talks to me about what I do good, but about what I do bad... Klow 17:49, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
    • Not my fault; I just don't tend to encounter users except through my admin and Inq duties. Graestan(Talk) 18:01, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
      • Well I do a lot of stuff with images, actually. And I corrected all the links, by the way! Klow 18:04, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

ImagesEdit

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for your work with images: decompressing, etc. It's a thankless task, and I appreciate your efforts. I also wanted to point something out about your comment on JustinGann's talk page. The reason many of these Marvel images are of such low quality is because of the low quality of the original comics. Poor paper quality, inking errors, etc. What makes it worse is that online scans of these original comics aren't great either. Gann worked with these crappy scans originally, which is why the quality is pretty poor. It's not his fault. Also, try to keep in mind that a lot of these cruddy images are from the very beginning of this site when image quality was pretty lax. Back then we cared more about getting any kind of image rather than what the overall quality was. Any image is better than no image, so to speak. When you see reuploaded images that look much crisper with clearer colors, you're actually looking at scans from the Classic Star Wars: A Long Time Ago... reprints. The problem is that the sheer quantity of images that have been uploaded representing the older poor quality comics makes replacing those images a slow moving task. I just wanted to make it clear that Justin isn't trying to hurt the site. He was just using what was at his disposal at the time, especially in the early days of Wookieepedia. No need to come off so confrontational, even if that wasn't your intent. Thanks for all your great help, and keep up the good work. :D Cull Tremayne 18:07, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Ah, at last! Thanks for your feedback. Indeed I guessed the better pics were for the reprinted editions. And I never wanted to hurt him or start and confrontation, and I know he didn't try to hurt the site on purpose, of course. I was just really amazed by those appalling uploads. And there are also creatures from RPG, and I'm sure the original books he used were better printed. So if there was only the Marvel pictures, I'd agree with you, but... And what do you mean by lax? Restrictive? Because for me the jpg compression or bad cropping is not an excuse and has nothing to do with the quality of the paper or the ink of the original support. Anyway thanks for your feedback - and you're right, a bad picture is better than nothing. I'll try to be better informed next time - I don't want to end like Jack Nebulax. :-P Klow 18:16, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
    • By "lax" I mean that we didn't have any sourcing policies, any quality assurances, etc. We just wanted an image, we didn't care what it looked like. Sure, we preferred better quality, but the sourcing templates, the categories, and the dismissal of poor images are relatively new developments that weren't around in the early days of the site when Justin did the majority of his uploads. Heck, we weren't even sure how images should be cropped. Making the articles look nice was second to just getting the raw information on the page. Cropping and image flaws wasn't as high a priority as it is now. Sure, if he was still doing it, we might have a problem, but to condemn him for stuff he did in the past when we didn't even have those kind of unspoken rules is a little harsh. Oh, and don't worry, I realize you have good intentions. You're a far cry from Nebulax. Cull Tremayne 20:48, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
      • Phew, that was close. Anyway I made apologies to Justin. He doesn't even need to answer me now that you gave me additional info. I leave him alone now. Of course, I'll continue to add the templates to the pictures, to help users replacing them and categorizing what needs to be done. Klow 20:53, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

PicsEdit

I think the more recent pics my brother and I have uploaded are of good quality. I took at look at the category Pictures of Poor Quality, and most I could see were from when I made the Marvel series index, some of the first pics I put in. At the time, Paint was pretty much the only picture-manipulation program I had. I have better now, and I don't think its a problem anymore. I am trying to revamp the Marvel Index this semester with the DH-published collections, and hopefully will be able to aedd new pics and better versions for some others. For now, just consider the old ones place holders. IAt the time, most stuff in Marvel didn't have so much as articles, and many were little better than copy-and-paste from CUSWE, so it was laying a foundation. If other people can make better pics, by all means they should do so, but I think even the poorest image is better than none at all. In the future, if you have any advice on how to improve an images quality, please let me know. In the future, please refrain from using crude language on my talk page. I don't mind criticism, but I tend not to respond well (or at all) to crude language. I want to be able to enjoy the time I spend on Wookieepedia, and don;'t want to encounter filthy slang on my talk page. I do appreciate you apology and your concern for the quality of Wookieepedia.JustinGann 01:41, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Allright! Let's continue working together, then. ;-) Klow 08:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Warning Edit

You need to stop editing others' user pages without their permission. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:49, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Did you see the edits I made? I just changed PNG file extensions to SVG. No harm done, it's even helping. I wouldn't dare modify personal text or anything else, of course! Don't threaten me when no crime has been made. Klow 16:53, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
    • It doesn't matter. Unless you're an administrator, you don't have this right. And, to boot, your edits to Muuurgh's page were completely unacceptable. This is your first and only warning. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:57, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
      • I'm sorry, I didn't realize that the userbox was different than the others. Of course I didn't do it on purpose, no need to put me on trial. Anyway I got your point, it won't happen again. And you can tell Muuurgh a vector version is available. Klow 17:01, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
  • The rule is very simple: Do not edit other user pages without permission. Consider this an unwritten rule of courtesy. Now let it go and apply this new understanding to your editing, or you will be blocked. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:01, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Come on it's just a question. Whatever your answer, I wouldn't have started again, I definitely got your point. And please don't treat my like a low-life user, I'm not trying to provoke or taunt you. Klow 16:23, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Blocked Edit

Dialog-error You have been blocked from editing for 1 day for persistently provoking me. I don't appreciate your little snipes concerning my warnings directed at you. You were told to let it go. When you return, I would advise you to drop it once and for all. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. Toprawa and Ralltiir 17:26, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Warning Edit

If you ever get like this with another user again, consider yourself permanently blocked. The only reason I didn't dish out a sizable block for what I've just stumbled upon is that other administrators saw it and a decent amount of time has gone by. Graestan(Talk) 01:52, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Every problem that occured with me now belongs to the past. None of this will ever appear again. Sorry for everything. Klow 16:19, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Suggestions?Edit

[1] This is the latest image I have added. Please let me know if it is up to par, and if not, let me know how I can approve it.JustinGann 20:46, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

  • Hi there, thanks for sharing! Do you ask me if I consider it good or bad? Well, it's quite ok, even if there are still some stuff left in the speech balloon and the compression is maybe too high - but ok. Is that because you still use Paint? Anyway if you don't have a choice of using another program, I can understand, so that'll do. And the cropping is ok too. So overall it's ok. ;-) Klow 18:07, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
