Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wookieepedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. Oh, ok, I didn't know. Never created an account on a Wiki before. Thank you ! --Le Passant 18:56, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

Casus Belli RPG material[edit source]

Welcome! It's great to see users adding info from the foreign language RPG material. We suffer from a lack of willing translators here so your efforts are much appreciated. As for the image problem, it may have something to do with when your registered your account. Generally, new users cannot upload images for a few days to prevent any possible image spamming. If this is the case, then perhaps waiting a couple of days will resolve your problem. If this is not the case, then I'll have to investigate further. I hope this helps, and welcome once again. - Cavalier OneFarStar.svg(Squadron channel) 13:51, December 16, 2011 (UTC)

--Thank you Cavalier One ! I will try again later. It think that the image problem is linked to my lack of activity. I will do my best to add things. Can you tell me if Wookieepedia prefer the original termes or translated expressions ? Like in the "Hold-up" scenario, there is a cantina named "Fulgur d'argent" in french. Which one is best, "Fulgur d'argent" or "Silver Fulgur" ? Thnak you for your help. --Le Passant 14:32, December 16, 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for the late reply. I would probably go with the English translation on that one. Also, you recently uploaded this [[1]], which got deleted since you improperly tagged the image for deletion when uploading. Did you use the "I don't know?" for the license? Generally, if an image is from a printed source like a magazine, using the "Generic fairuse" template is the best option. Also, I was wondering about the source of the image. We have some of the pages from Casus Belli 44 available to us (we just can't translate them), and that image is not included on any pages we have. Is it possible to scan the entire page for corroboration so that it doesn't mistaken get deleted again? I've slapped a verify template on it for now. Many thanks. - Cavalier OneFarStar.svg(Squadron channel) 21:36, December 20, 2011 (UTC)
  • Hello ! It seems that I can, now, upload images. I choose "I know the source, but don't know the licence". Guess it was not that.for my last tries, I have chosen "Generic fairuse", but it didn't work.

There is two more "Star Wars pages" in this Casus Belli, page 70 and 71. I just uploaded the two of them, and you will see that there is more than I had the courage to put on the page :P [[2]] [[3]]--Le Passant 22:50, December 20, 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't know if it's of any interest to you, but I have a whole heap of French material uploaded over here that's needing translated and added to the wiki. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 02:25, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
  • Thank you ! Oh yes it will, there is some materials I couldn't find elsewhere.--Le Passant 07:50, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

Casus Belli[edit source]

Salut, Le Passant. Many thanks for your help with Casus Belli content! I'd just like to remind you to categorise your newly-created articles. I have also come to possess nearly all Casus Belli publications, but unfortunately I can barely read in French. If you need help, let me know, perhaps I can share them with you offsite or provide image uploads. Cheers! Stake black msg 17:43, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

Hello, Stake black. My turn to thank you, and the other english speakers, for your help. As you can see, my english is pretty weak, and I truly appreciate the corrections. Concerning the categorization, I admit I'm not at ease with it, but I will try to pay attention. Thanks to Jaymach (and other external sources), I managed to retrieve many articles from Casus Belli, Avalon, Backstab, Descartes, Graal, Dragon Radieux, Chroniques de l'Outre monde, but there is always some I can't find. If you have, par hasard, The Casus Belli 48 et 60, it would be fantastic.--Le Passant 18:22, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
Hello, both of you. I'm ashamed to intermingle into a conversation I wasn't invited to, but I wanted to say I was willing to help you with all this Casus Belli material, as I am a French speaker myself -- just like Le Passant.--LelalMekha 18:37, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
I have contacted you via email, please check your inbox (check the email you set in your preferences) (EDIT) Hey Lelal, thanks for the help! If you also need help acquiring some Casus Belli issues, let me know. Stake black msg 18:44, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
Hello LelalMekha ! You already helped me on several articles, I was just wondering if I would at last leave a word to you ! S'il te plaît, joins-toi à la discussion tant que tu veux ! I wonder about some of the french articles contents, since many of them take place juste before or during official in-universe events. I already add things from "Facteur X" on some of the concerned article, but I'm not sure it would be possible to add many things to the battle of Yavin or Endor, for exemple. Any idea on the question ? Many thanks Stake black !--Le Passant 18:52, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
The main problem with the Casus Belli stories is that they are "fringe" material. Look, for example, at what I did in the "Mummy"" article ; everytime you introduce something from Casus Belli in the middle of a canon article, you've got to use that awful "warning" double tag. So I'd say we shouldnt play with important articles unless we have much to add.--LelalMekha 19:01, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
I don't know... the tag is pretty awful but an encyclopedia should be as complete as possible, should it not? Stake black msg 19:06, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
Well, I truly hesitate between the two positions. For example, I added things on the Battle_of_Foerost_(Great_Sith_War) page. It seems to have "injured" the status of the article.--Le Passant 19:13, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
The way I see it, it may be aesthetically uglier, but at least it's more complete. Stake black msg 19:15, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, this is precisely what I meant. It seems that CB material has a tendency to "lower" the quality of an article. It's a shame the canonicity of CB stories can't be confirmed/denied once and for all.--LelalMekha 19:17, April 25, 2012 (UTC)
In fact, I find that it's not truly problematic when it's not in the middle of a big text. But if it concerns a precise point in the middle of a character background, I would find less interesting to releguate it to a simple non the "behind the scenes" section.--Le Passant 19:21, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

Plus d'accès aux sources ?[edit source]

Salut, Le Passant!

Sait-on jamais... Serais-tu disposé à partager tes ressources ? --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest.png (Audience Room) 20:35, February 5, 2019 (UTC)

  • Tiens, aurais-tu par hasard le numéro 66 de Casus Belli avec "Le dieu mort" ? Impossible de remettre la main dessus et j'en aurais besoin. --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest.png (Audience Room) 09:56, February 11, 2019 (UTC)

RE: French RPG Material[edit source]

Hi Le Passant! I think it is certainly worth continuing with that material, either with your own work or by offering the material to others to translate and add to the wiki. There are many like you who have felt their interest wane since the Canon/Legends split and I myself work almost exclusively in Legends related content rather than the new Canon. In this time of new content, I would definitely like to see content that would otherwise be missed worked on to make the wiki as complete as possible. - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar.svg(Squadron channel) 18:22, February 6, 2019 (UTC)

If you can expand our articles on this information, then please do so! - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar.svg(Squadron channel) 22:51, February 6, 2019 (UTC)
