Welcome, OOM 224!Edit

Hello, OOM 224, and welcome to Wookieepedia! We hope you like the place and choose to join us in building the best Star Wars encyclopedia there is. Here are some things you should know:

Wookiees-Transparent

New to wikis? Don't worry, we were all new once. Our help pages will get you started, and the Jundland Wastes sandbox can be used for test edits. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—be bold!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, you can consult our FAQ, ask a question in the Senate Hall forum, visit our official IRC channel, or leave me a message on my talk page.
May the Force be with you! —MasterFredCommerce Guild(Whatever) 04:54, September 25, 2018 (UTC)

StopEdit

Please stop reverting, we don't know if the Empire uses the AAT. It looks similar, but its unsure if its the same. Also we don't use galleries in articles. --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 04:55, October 18, 2018 (UTC)

SourcingEdit

You need to source correctly, nothing in that paragraph can be sourced alone to TFA. And TFA is not a source.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 07:47, January 12, 2019 (UTC)

  • Again, TFA is not something that goes there. Stop adding it--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:26, January 12, 2019 (UTC)

Hi, OOM224. I'm pretty sure I did source my edits- they're all from the ROS VD. VergenceScatter (talk) 05:13, April 13, 2020 (UTC)VergenceScatter

OoraEdit

There's no point adding Star Wars Legends if you then aren't going to specify Oora is from canon, hence why I keep removing it and you keep unnecessarily adding it back, just leave it as it is --Lewisr (talk) 13:44, January 17, 2019 (UTC)

WarningEdit

While all good-faith contributions to Wookieepedia are appreciated, we ask that you please refer to Wookieepedia:Images and familiarize yourself with the sourcing and licensing requirements before uploading any more images. The only uploading method supported by Wookieepedia, Special:Upload, will prompt you to enter this information. Continued violation of the image policy or falsification of any information in an upload description are considered vandalism and will likely result in a block. Thank you. --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 22:10, October 11, 2019 (UTC)

  • Also, per our Images policy file extensions must be in lowercase(In this case it should be ".png" not ".PNG")--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 22:13, October 11, 2019 (UTC)

EditsEdit

´Please be more careful with your edits. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 03:45, October 17, 2019 (UTC)

  • Like this--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 04:00, October 17, 2019 (UTC)
  • I will. ---OOM 224 (talk) 04:09, October 17, 2019 (UTC)
    • You've been told not to do this before. When you add the {{Expand}} template to pages, make sure to watch your formatting. Zed42 (talk) 05:19, October 18, 2019 (UTC)
      • Once again, be careful with your edits. Ignoring this is a violation to our layout guide--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 05:37, October 21, 2019 (UTC)

ReferencesEdit

While using references please add a name that its associated with the reference. Like <ref name="Aphra 6" /> not <ref name=":0" />. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 05:56, October 17, 2019 (UTC)

Affiliations Edit

Hi OOM 224. Just a heads up, I've reverted your edit to the Yale Karlsen article as out Layout Guide states that affiliation should only ever have two levels to it per a vote at a Mofference. Thanks, Ayrehead02 (talk) 09:57, November 16, 2019 (UTC)

  • Thanks, got it! CIS roundel OOM 224 {talk} 14:03, November 16, 2019 (UTC)

User:23.174.96.6Edit

  • Did you ever notice any similarities between Dooku and Saruman from The Lord of the Rings? --- User:23.174.96.6
  • Also, I love the time and effort that is put in to creating the lightsabers, live-action sets and various costumes that the chracters wear while on-screen. You? --- User:23.174.96.6
    • Ah yes, both characters complement each other. As to the physical props made for filming, I also appreciate all the effort put into such "trivial" matters, precisely because these items only exist as "trivia," only enhancing the world the stories are set in. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 18:52, December 10, 2019 (UTC)

LinkingEdit

Per the manual of style 'Links should only be added in quote attributions and image captions if the subject is not linked in the article body already.' So please if something is already linked then don't add it to the a image/quote caption. --Lewisr (talk) 22:58, December 14, 2019 (UTC)

RE: SpoilersEdit

I am fully aware of the spoiler rule. I only removed the template from articles that originated directly from the dictionary, most of which had little to nothing to do with the film. Shayanomer (talk) 12:45, January 25, 2020 (UTC)

AffiliationsEdit

Stop removing the affiliation from the Darth Nox page. It is highly unnecessary and completely ridiculous. It doesn't matter if "virtually every Sith at that time trained there" or that they aren't instructors. Numbers don't matter; professions are irrelevant. The fact is that they are or were affiliated with it and since the name of the section is Affiliations, it gets added. There is literally no rule stating that it can't be added if they only trained there as students I checked. Since there's no rule, it stays and I will keep adding it. Andrewh7 (talk) 19:43, February 12, 2020 (UTC) Andrewh7

First off, adding it is not unnecessary nor is it "trivial". They trained and studied there. They learned the ways of the Sith and became full Sith. They wouldn't be the Sith they are without training at the academy. The academy shaped them into true Sith. Numbers don't matter no matter how many trained and studied there. What would be achieved is showing that they attended the academy and listing their affiliation. Sure thousands of Sith attended the academy but there are other Sith academies in the galaxy and would sorta link them together that shows they attended the academy other than having it multiple times on their page. In a weird, twisted way, I sorta get where you're coming from, but it is not as if most of them even have that many affiliations to begin with. Andrewh7 (talk) 21:38, February 12, 2020 (UTC) Andrewh7

Sovereign ProtectorsEdit

This is about the edit revert on Sovereign Protectors. They appear in the visual dictionary, so one could still insert an image into the article.--CommanderDeviss327OCF roundelAЧ dAwu I qɹokǝ ɹǝฉ1iʇʎ ฉБa1u 16:47, February 27, 2020 (UTC)

  • Then please comment on that article's talk page, not some random other article's like this one. MasterCommerce GuildFredcerique 17:15, February 27, 2020 (UTC)

TORciteEdit

Hi OOM 224. Please be advised that all articles related to SWTOR content require that the TORcite template be used in references. Citing directly to the game or the expansion an article's subject is mentioned and/or appears in does not constitute a proper reference. For future reference, please don't remove the Citation template from a SWTOR article that is not cited with TORcite. Thanks. Fan26 (Talk) 15:48, March 14, 2020 (UTC)

BackupEdit

Hi OOM 224. Could you please provide an archive link to File:Walker_pilots.jpg, as required by the sourcing policy (Rules 10). Thank you. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 17:33, March 16, 2020 (UTC)

Stop reverting every change I've ever made to a page. I don't know why you're doing it, I am clearly using references. Crawly Monster (talk) 21:54, March 24, 2020 (UTC)

OK, thank you. Crawly Monster (talk) 23:02, March 24, 2020 (UTC)

  • It is official, it's used in the episode. Mission to Toydaria isn't. 01miki10 Open comlink 13:10, April 2, 2020 (UTC)

Palpatine/Sidious Edit

I find it better that the name Sheev Palpatine should be the main page, because despite his name change, Sidious was still known across The galaxy as Palpatine, unless your suggesting that "Palpatine" was a alias - Ryker11 open comlink 15:56, April 6 2020 (UTC)

Zeison ShaEdit

The corrections to the Zeison Sha page weren't 'speculation', as we have four sources running from 2003 to 2009 saying that they were founded around 2000BBY, three of which were released after KOTOR II. HaukeaTyia (talk) 14:49, May 7, 2020 (UTC)

3RREdit

Hi OOM, I just wanted to remind you that although User:HaukeaTyia was in the wrong on the Zeison Sha page, you still violated our three-revert rule. Please be careful in future, and don't be afraid to use features like IRC, Discord, the Administrators' noticeboard, and vandalism in progress to report vandalism. Tommy-Macaroni 15:40, May 7, 2020 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the reminder, I'll take note of this. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 16:13, May 7, 2020 (UTC)

Ventress image Edit

Hello, you reverted my edit to the Asajj Ventress article in which I changed the image. Although she was redeemed in Dark Disciple, I believe that this image fits the infobox better because it depicts her more well-known look from the popular TCW series. Plus, this image was taken from the Encyclopedia, and the other image was not. While I acknowledge the changes to Ventress in Dark Disciple, I think that the other image is more fitting. What are your thoughts? ComicalNinja [Talk] 20:31, May 8, 2020 (UTC)

Star Wars: The Old RepublicEdit

  • You have been adding Star Wars: The Old Republic to both the "Appearances" section and the "Sources" section (not to mention with the Template:TORcite that is meant for the "Notes and references"). You just need to add it the "Appearances" section (use the Template:TOR if it the subject of the article appears in an expansion). --Nostalgia of Iran (talk) 15:17, May 17, 2020 (UTC)
    • Ah, I see. I'll take note of this, thanks. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 16:09, May 17, 2020 (UTC)

SignatureEdit

Hey, would you mind if I used the CIS roundel in my signature. I'm not doing this because I want to steal the design of your signature or something, I'm doing this because I'm a huge fan of the CIS and all things CIS, so I hope you don't mind me using it for my signature as well. If you don't want me using it, I will not. --Erebus(Talk) 20:53, May 20, 2020 (UTC)

  • I wouldn't mind at all. Besides, I don't own the CIS roundel so feel free to use it. :) - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 05:06, May 21, 2020 (UTC)

Backup linksEdit

Thanks for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please note that your edit to File:Dread_Masters_2.4.jpg added an external link without including a backup link. Our Sourcing policy mandates the inclusion of a permanent archival link in all external links. Instructions for doing this can be found on the respective citation template pages. Thanks! 1358 (Talk) 20:37, May 29, 2020 (UTC)

  • Ah, forgot about that. I've added the backup links for the images. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 21:02, May 29, 2020 (UTC)

Minor changeEdit

Hi, just want to point out a minor thing. Make sure to remove the slash at the end of the URL for the templates with the backup. Thanks. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan (talk) 07:25, June 15, 2020 (UTC)

  • Got it. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 07:45, June 15, 2020 (UTC)

Citation template Edit

Please be more discerning with what articles you add the "Citation" template to. Every article tagged with that template gets listed in Category:Pages needing citation, which, as you can see, is growing quite bloated and is not ideal. "Citation" only needs to be added to articles with questionably unverified information, similar to the use of the {{Fact}} template. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 06:27, June 18, 2020 (UTC)

Image category namesEdit

Hello. Per naming policy, image categories should use the subject's Canon name (e.g. "Images of Blanaid" instead of "Images of Watts"). Thanks. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan (talk) 11:26, June 18, 2020 (UTC)

Exegol numbersEdit

I changed the several to specific numbers because when the resistance arrives on exegol you can actually count the amount of ships in the strike force; 7 x-wings, 9 a-wings, 7 y-wings and 6 b-wings for a total of 29 fighters. It is not very clear on the movie, but on the D23 trailer the fleet arrives on a lighter background making every ship clear.--JeroAvestruz (talk) 17:17, June 18, 2020 (UTC)

P1 and LightmakerEdit

How did you find out that P1 and the Lightmaker are the same ship?Jkirk8907 (talk) 19:06, June 20, 2020 (UTC)

  • Both have the same markings, (save for the lack of "P1" in Aurebesh on the Rogue One model) and Star Wars: The Rebel Files says that one of the three ships given to the Spectres was named Lightmaker, which is identified as the Rogue One hammerhead by the film's novelisation. After talking with Lewisr, I've un-merged the articles and added to their bts sections since no official source explicitly says P1 is the Lightmaker. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 19:17, June 20, 2020 (UTC)

FerrodaEdit

I haven’t had any luck finding an image of Master Ferroda with a blue lightsaber. I did however find several images of him with a green blade. I wished to clarify the issue, hence me asking about it on Ferroda’s talk page and- failing a response there- including in the article text itself in the form of a question. So I’m mystified that you’d simply revert my edit and not provide proof that he wielded a blue blade. InspectorGregson (talk) 00:13, June 23, 2020 (UTC)

Clone SniperEdit

I just saw that you removed an image I uploaded, I just wanted to say that I hopefully fixed the problem and the reasons why it was removed.

Hello OOM, thanks for adding backups to the repository. Please make sure to remove instances from the lists here (e.g. SW). I've already removed the one you just added. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan (talk) 13:05, July 13, 2020 (UTC)

Did You Know templateEdit

Hey OOM. Just a reminder that the DidYouKnow template is meant to be capped off at six entries. Don't forget to remove bottom entries when adding new ones.

Also, on a related note, I'm not sure we need to add so many articles related to Mustafar at one time. There are plenty of articles created everyday that revolve around different subjects and would give readers a wider supply of information. Thanks, RattsT (talk) 03:19, July 14, 2020 (UTC)

  • Oops, I'll try not to forget. Regarding the lack in variety, that makes sense, and I'll keep that in mind. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 07:19, July 14, 2020 (UTC)

re:varmikEdit

Hey OOM 224!

re: you undoing my undo change on the Varmik page. The reason I made the change is because a correct image of the character was changed to the current incorrect one by JMAS. That is not Varmik. That is the same speices (another member of the hassk triplets) who is yet to be named.Unsigned comment by Clauderains01 (talk • contribs).

  • That is Varmik. The image is sourced from Card Trader. Also, please keep in mind to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~) in the future. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 16:45, August 4, 2020 (UTC)

Apologies, will do. Topps released quite a few cards of the character, however the one you are refering to was a mistake by Topps. That was another member of the Hassk triplets. As you can see from this example, this is varmik signed by the actor https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ydAAAOSw0vJcFfgv/s-l300.jpg and here is another example https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EGJ88orXUAUC17I.jpg I can see how a mistake was made considering there were 3 Hassk. --Clauderains01 (talk) 17:05, August 4, 2020 (UTC)

  • I admit that I'm not too familiar with the subject, but Wookieepedia could only make use of official, canonical sources, which would include Card Trader and exclude the two images you've linked above in this instance. Unless there are other valid sources we could use to disprove what might be a mistake on Topps' part, we'll have to go with the card for now. However, this possible error could go into the behind the scenes section if an explanation is provided with a citation that follows our attribution policy. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 17:33, August 4, 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply and infomation, OOM. On further investigation I have found the official announcement from the actor who plays the character which displays the correct topps trading card https://twitter.com/paulrwarren/status/706145758093963265?lang=en another example from the actor https://twitter.com/paulRwarren/status/679864347347279872 his instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BtWMRNOFC1i/ and offical website https://www.paulwarren.actor/images.html and you can even see in the movie that varmik is not the hassk from the digital card trader source https://www.paulwarren.actor/uploads/9/5/7/3/9573243/154_orig.jpg

Would these be valid sources to disprove the mistake? --Clauderains01 (talk) 04:18, August 5, 2020 (UTC)

  • Yes. However, these sources could only go into the bts section, and cannot override the latest Card Trader image since it is officially licensed by Lucasfilm as canon information. Even if the Topps trading card you've linked was officially released (can't find it on the Card Trader wiki, might have to ask Plume Tray or Mr Star Wars AminoRepublic for help locating it), I think we still have to use the latest image for the infobox per policy, but this issue is better brought up on the article talk page. - - -CIS roundel OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 08:03, August 5, 2020 (UTC)
