Welcome, ObiKenobiUPC! Edit

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Wookieepedia aspires to be a reliable source for all Star Wars fans to read and draw information from, and as such, fan-created continuity and fan fiction are not allowed within our articles. All in-universe material must be attributable to a reliable, published source.

Do not remove talk page and forum comments, including your own, as they are part of the public record. Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

For an optimal viewing experience, Wookieepedia recommends using the Monobook skin. For help changing your skin preference, see Help:Skin.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! —IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 01:52, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for experimenting with Wookieepedia. Your test worked and has been removed. Please see the help page on editing if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you need to make further test edits, please use Wookieepedia:Jundland Wastes. Thanks. IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 01:52, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Comment removal Edit

Please do not remove other users' comments on another user's talk page, as you did to Grand Moff Tranner's archive. Talk page messages are of public record and are not to be removed. The same goes for one's own talk page; if you don't want messages on your talk page, archive them. But please keep in mind that due to these being a matter of public record, they should not be removed. Thanks. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:36, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Redlinks Edit

Hi! A handy tip about redlinks: If a redlink is in an article, then chances are good that we should have an article on that subject, but that nobody has gotten around to creating it yet. Rather than remove redlinks, one should strive to fill them in by creating the article. Cheers! Menkooroo 03:30, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

sorry, and thanks!

  • No need to apologize. You're doing great. :) Menkooroo 03:33, August 19, 2011 (UTC)

Hey there! Do you mean this one? It's the symbol of the Old Jedi Order. I don't know anything about it, but if there is sufficient information about it and its uniqueness, then an article could definitely be created. Alliance Starbird is an example of an article about a logo. If it's just "the symbol of the Jedi," and no information is known about it, then there probably isn't enough to warrant creating an article for it. Menkooroo 07:06, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, and thank you. ObiKenobiUPC 23:04, August 22, 2011 (UTC)ObiKenobiUPC

Creating articles Edit

Before creating any more articles, please familiarize yourself with Wookieepedia's site policies, which can be found in the welcome message above. If you continue to create articles that fail to meet these policies, your articles may be deleted, and you may receive a block from editing. Thank you for your cooperation. Verify Edit

Hey UPC! I just wanted to let you know that Alliance Special Forces is not an appropriate source. A source is something in the real world that tells about the article, not something in universe. Hope this helps. Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 03:18, September 6, 2011 (UTC)

  • I'm glad that you realize that you made a mistake (That's a great start to a new user.) :) I hope you'll get the hang of it, but until then, you should try to refrain from writing articles that you don't have the source to. It's likely that they will be deleted. So, I hope you'll be able to find a good source to fit in there. Happy editing! Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 03:22, September 6, 2011 (UTC)

Gayrard Edit

I would say that that would be OOU since it is still about a real-life person. :) Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 02:54, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

  • I mainly put it on there since some of the formatting wasn't correct. It looks much better now, I guess it could use some re-wording, but that's just getting nick-picky. :p So, go ahead and remove that for now. :) Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 03:12, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
    • Sure thing! Just so you know, if you take care of the objection that the template brings up, feel free to remove the template. It might be put right back on again if you didn't fix it correctly, but then you know that it needs to be fixed up better. Cheers! Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 03:18, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

Re: Tiin Edit

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Since there's no evidence that Tiin is a High Jedi General, go ahead and make the edit. I did a little digging myself and couldn't find anything either. Cheers, IFYLOFD (Floyd's crib) 03:33, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

New articles Edit

Hey, Obi. While I greatly appreciate all your contributions in creating all these new articles, I ask that you please follow the rules of Wookieepedia. As a whole, your articles look pretty good, but there are a couple of minor things that you could change when you create a new article. If you do, I'd appreciate it. Mainly, if a title is conjectural, then you can't bold the whole name. If the title is something like Skirmish in the Yinta Lake spaceport, then the article should read something like "A skirmish was fought between..." That way, it's not bolding the entire conjectural title. Also, we don't place links in the bolded text. If the bolded text is something that needs to be linked to, then it needs to be linked to in the next mention in the article. Also, if you create an article that is smaller than what it could be, please place the appropriate {{stub}} template on the article. One more thing: generally, we start out a conjectural article with something like "A" or "The" rather than "This." "This" sounds more present tense, while "A" and "The" sound more past tense, which is how an article should be written. Thanks for your cooperation, and happy editing!—Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 16:03, January 3, 2012 (UTC)
