Concerning me and Jack NebulaxEdit

If you think that I have a problem of any kind with Jack Nebulax, then you would be completely misreading the situation. Jack has been the person with whom I have had the longest friendship here on the Pedia, and he would be one of the people I most respect. He's also the man who's had my back preventing edits to my work, and it's my honor now to get his.

Not that a clarification on what I said is necessary for you, but here it is: I added a section on the Palpatine page some time ago. It involved the Senate chanting "Palpatine!" as it approved the Chancellor's emergency powers. I based that chant on the captions for the DVD of Attack of the Clones. I don't know how it changed, but at some point someone decided that since it was Jar Jar that made the motion, the Senate was chanting his name. It's understandable: they have the same number of syllables, they sound the same if you're only half-hearing them. And for whatever reason, Jack thought that was what was supposed to be there and did his job: maintain the page and protect it from incorrect edits. It can happen; no one's seen every Star Wars resource, and really, if you can hear, how often do you watch a DVD with the captions on?

Jack never knowingly reverted my edits; he never would. He reverted others who were trying to restore it, not knowing my intentions. Because I had other things on my plate - a wife, a flu virus, a company to run - I decided to see what would develop before I stepped in. Finally, after about three iterations of this, I decided that I should inform Jack of what my intentions were. And you'll notice I did so politely, saying "I'm sorry," because he deserves that. Having done so, I don't have to worry about it anymore. He'll keep it the way I intended now. He isn't revert-happy, or stubborn. He's doing his job. Period.

I have been here for quite some time. And in that time, I've made few friends and allies as loyal as Jack Nebulax. Despite that, few people have caught as much undeserved criticism as he. I do not share the opinions of those who snipe at him. So, if you would, please refrain from trying to recruit me for these sniping cliques without knowing my position. • I will look into it in just one minute and see what the matter is. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 03:30, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Okay, I looked at the articles in question. I don't see any reason not to place them in that category, but I've asked Jack on his talk page just in case he has information that I don't. More than likely, it was probably just a mistake on his part, but I'm not sure.

Now, more significantly, it's not good manners to talk badly about others on the Wookiee. If you have some issue with Jack, you should talk it out with him on a talk page or his user talk page in a civil manner. I've worked with him in the past and I don't think he is an illness or a Yuuzhan Vong. He edits a lot of articles, sure, but I don't see what that should bother you? Besides the category thing, which I am checking on, I would need links before I could do anything. Mostly what he does is fix small things anyway. If you want to look at the past history of an article, use the history tab and move the second box down below his edits.

I'm not sure exactly what you want me to do about the situation. Some of your complaints seem to be subjective- can I have some links on the worse articles part? And I'm not going to tell him to stop editing an article unless he's breaking a rule. I'm not sure what you mean about the evolution of an article- could you explain? Let me know if there's anything I missed or anything else I can do. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 04:11, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Um, judging by your userboxes and your posts, I'm guessing your using an online translator for English, because some of your posts don't make a whole lot of sense in English. There is no rule about being the last one on the article, and if Jack wants to edit an article, that's his right to do so. Don't call him a vandal though. That's uncalled for. It's really not a big deal if he changes an article- so what? You say he has an addiction or something- like being the last one to edit, but you have given me no proof of that. It's not worth getting upset over. If you revert his changes, be mindful of the Three Revert Rule and No Personal Attacks. And I suggest you talk it over nicely on his talk page to help clarify the misunderstanding. Assume good faith.

I'm clearing up the issue with Jack now. It will be settled.

Si lo prefieres, puedo escribir en tu "pagina de hablar" en español, pero mi español es no mucho bueno. Lo siento por mis errores. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 16:43, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Wow, I feel dumb. I only said that because I saw the "native speaker of Spanish" on your page and typical English vernacular doesn't use "normative" too often. If Jack changes an article for the worse, revert it, but be nice about it and talk it over with him if it gets continued. Trust me, he's not doing just to get attention or to be antagonistic. I think your categorization is fine, though you could also create the Category:Corellian starship classes, to distinguish between named ships like "Millennium Falcon" and YV-260, etc., which is what Jack suggested.

Tento que escribir bueno en español. Supe que "muy" es la palabra correcta, pero tenía prisa. Siempre me gusta aprender mucho español. Había estudiando español por tres años ahora. Hasta luego. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 17:52, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Palpatine81, how dare you. I'm the second biggest contributor to this site, and you call me a vandal. Just because I make edits you don't like (which includes finding things to correct on articles you just edited; so what?) doesn't give you any right to call me a vandal or recruit others against me. I was going to consider giving you some advice, but after reading this, you don't deserve it. I've been here longer than you. Show some respect, will you already? Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 04:59, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Be civilEdit

  • Don't go around saying you're "reverting vandalism" just because you don't agree with an edit. Vandalism is a deliberate attempt to damage an article, and I can tell you from experience that Jack's edits are made with good intentions. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(Kills) 15:15, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
    • It's not the term "revert" that's the problem, it's the term "vandalism." Disagreement over an article's proper category is NOT "vandalism." -- Darth Culator (Talk)(Kills) 16:08, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Apologies. Edit

Listen, Palpatine, I'm sorry about all of this. I just want to put all of this behind us and start over as friends. Please let me know on my talk page. —Grand Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 14:08, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

WikiaEdit

Hello, I am working in Wikia on page www.kingarthur.wikia.com I can put content from Wikipedia in English without quoting ?

Userpages Edit

Hey Palpatine81, I noticed you are editing some userboxes on userpages, you are changing Bounty hunters to Bounty hunters. Since Bounty hunters already redirects to the article you are waisting your time. While I recognize your edits as good faith I can't speak for others who might be offended you are editing their userpages without permission thus creating trouble over nothing. Just letting you know, Cheers MadclawShyriiwook! 22:44, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Apatros Edit

Hey Palpatine81. I saw your edit to Apatros (colony), and please refrain from editing articles with inuse templates on them. IFYLOFD (You will pay the price for your lack of vision!) 22:36, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
