Welcome Patricknoddy! Edit

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers: right|180px

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! — SFH 18:14, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

The Admiral's List: Jimas Veltraa Memorial Edition Edit

How about you assume I know what I'm doing and don't require someone who just arrived to tell me how to make wiki articles? Kuralyov 20:57, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I've moved your signature to User:Patricknoddy/sig as it should not be in the Template namespace. Green Tentacle (Talk) 21:56, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Also, Wookieepedia: Signature policy requires the picture be no more than 20 pixels high. You may want to use a different image. —Silly Dan (talk) 22:19, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Sorry, meant to tag the original. That's what happens when I do things while playing Zelda. Green Tentacle (Talk) 22:20, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
    • I resized your picture because, as I said above, it is too big. 20 pixels is the maximum height. Please change it, or an admin will do it for you. —Silly Dan (talk) 22:22, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
      • Again, I ask you to read the signature policy. Only small images are allowed. I don't want to have to edit your signature to comply with current standards, and protect it so only an admin can edit it, but I will. Change your signature. —Silly Dan (talk) 22:29, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
        • Thanks for resizing the image: but the limit is 20px in height, not width. The main reason we have this policy is that images much larger than that will break up talk pages, which makes them harder to read. Unfortunately, this means the only pictures you can use are comparatively simple ones. —Silly Dan (talk) 22:34, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Darth Shecks-Deviant Edit

They're both correct. When he went to the Sith Patenting Office, he had the foresight to purchase rights to both the name he wanted, and all alternate spellings. .... 21:33, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

"No way, since why should anyone not support Wookieepedia policy? Geez."

You're 9, right? What if they decided tomorrow that users had to be at least thirteen to edit the site, because they think younger people can't write well enough? Would you support that policy? CooperTFN 22:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Um, we don't make policies. The Inquisitorius have nothing to do with that. Though I'm sure Cooper is just making a commentary on why a 9 year old shouldn't always support policy, I think you've misunderstood. The Inquisitors have no power to ban kids under 13 from editing. Cull Tremayne 19:02, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Technically, we at Wookieepedia are supposed to applying COPPA in regard to underage users, but that's not an Inq thing, that's a United States law. StarNeptuneTalk to me! 20:00, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
      • I didn't mean "they" as in the Inqs. I was just saying "if such-and-such a policy were enacted". CooperTFN 20:52, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
        • Right, I knew you were. I was just trying to make Patrick understand that the Inqs can't make a policy to ban kids under 13 even if they wanted to. Oh, and Coop's right, don't just blindly support Wookieepedia policy. Cull Tremayne 21:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
          • I just want to make this clear: COPPA doesn't say that you can't edit a wiki if you're under 13. All it says is that website operators must provide a privacy policy. Wikia has that (here). COPPA also says that website operators should protect the privacy of children. Wikia says, "No personal information should be given on the wiki by persons aged less than 13 years." As far as I can tell, people under the age of 13 don't need to be blocked. --Leon2323 21:31, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Userbox proposalsEdit

Please, just stop. None of your ideas are being supported. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:52, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Then propose some that will actually be accepted by the community and I don't have to tell you that. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:52, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Yes, please refrain from nominating these random userboxes that really contribute nothing. It's quite annoying. Chack Jadson 21:49, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
