NovaEdit

Hi there. I noticed that you added Nova (Jedi) to the Nova disambiguation page. Who exactly is this Nova and where did they appear? It would be a good idea to either write an article, even if only a stub about them, or to point another wookieepedian towards your source so they can get cracking on it. I was unable to find such a character by searching the CUSWE or google, and I was wondering if you could fill me in. (Also, on a side note, please don't blank your talk page. Archiving it is cool, but not blanking it). --Wildyoda-talk-contribs-Yoda cartoon 06:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

"Nova is actually a character from Light and Shadow who, at the end of the story, begins training as a Jedi. A page does need to be made for her, however. —Jaymach Ral'Tir" Thats the answer I got so I went ahead and made a page for her.Purpilia 23:08, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism?Edit

Hey, didn't mean to accuse you, so sorry about that. No problem with the Shaak Ti image. It's just that only the image was changed and not the caption, so I wasn't sure whether it was a legit edit or subtle vandalism of the kind that we've experienced a couple of times here. That's why I asked whether it was vandalism rather than stating that it was vandalism. So, once more, sorry if the question made you feel uncomfortable. KEJ 06:27, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Valorian Jedi Enclave Edit

Hi Purpilia,

I nominated this article, Valorian and Visionelle for deletion, because I think they are not canon. Unfortunately some parts of the official Star Wars Galaxies website feature player-created content that is not part of the official continuity. --Craven 17:56, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

While I can certainly appreciate your stance (trust me), please refrain from swearing in your edit summaries like you did here → "Okay, one more of the 'oh she is a great warrior' shit, will be undone no matter how nicely it is worded, unless you remove one of the twenty or so statements." Your cooperation is appreciated, thanks. Greyman(Paratus) 05:55, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Re: PicturesEdit

Hey there. I did see that Jedi in the comic, but the reason I deleted the pictures you uploaded was because they were labeled wrong. Feel free to upload those pictures again, but remember to a) add the correct source, and b) concept art from the artists website is to be considered non-canon unless LFL says otherwise. As such, if you chose to upload them again, the only place they would be able to be placed is in the articles Behind the scenes. If those pictures are canon and licensed with LFL, then feel free to add them to the main body of the article :) Cheers, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 04:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Infoboxs Edit

Hey Purpilia, I noticed you'd been taking the Death dates out of the Infoboxes for characters. You said the reason you were doing it was because there should be a whole Paragraph about their deaths, not just the date. There should be a Paragrph about their deaths is enough is known about it, however, this does not mean that their death dates should be taken out of the Infobox, the Infobox allows the reader to see the Basic summary of the character without having to read the whole article. Thanks - Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 18:29, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

  • My point is that this guy has been putting the death date in before the release of the book. I know Reckoning is out now but, in my opinion, if he knows they died why not put an explanation? I am not saying he is wrong, but apparently no one can double check it so I think he needs to explain more. So until we have reason to believe these characters are dead, we should remove the dates. Purpilia 18:34, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Ok. Sorry your explantion didn't make much sense to me, you seemed to be changing it just because there wasn't a paragraph about it. Sorry - Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 18:37, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
      • No problem; there is only so much room in those explanation boxes its hard to make a coherent argument. Purpilia 18:38, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Mission to Kashyyyk (Clone Wars) Edit

Hello Purpilia, you recently edited Mission to Kashyyyk (Clone Wars) to say that Delta Squad was led by Etain Tur-Mukan during the rescue of tarfful, as far as Star Wars: Republic Commando goes this is incorrect. I'd revert the edit myself save for the fact that I have not yet read Order 66: A Republic Commando Novel, please check and then either revert your edit or leave me a message explaining why your statment is correct, cheers — RC-1136 Hate Mail Here 14:37, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

  • In Order 66 she leads them on part of the mission, though I am unfamiliar with the story that was established before hand. So I was hoping if I added it in there, it would be a starting point for other edits. As with other events in Order 66, some details have been changed and I am not completely sure how to go about modifying it. So, if you think it should be deleted, go for it and we can wait for someone who is familiar with both stories to blend it together. Either way works for me! Purpilia 20:32, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
    • First thanks for taking such a sensible approach to this. I think I'll have to get the book, should be finished in about a one to two weeks. In the meantime may as well just let your edit stand, cheers — RC-1136 Hate Mail Here 09:06, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Don't forget the era tags! Graestan(Talk) 02:51, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Okay, thanks! Purpilia 02:55, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey, it's quite cool that you're going through the CSWE and creating articles for everything that we don't have. However, please be aware that you're neglecting to put categories on several of these new articles. In addition, please cross-reference these articles with the CUSWE. Bob Vitas was heavily involved in the creation of the book, and so most, if not all, the articles in the new Encyclopedia will be in his online resource. The difference is that the CUSWE tells us where exactly the object first appeared. So, for example, you made the article Acey with only CSWE as a source, but if you look up Acey on the CUSWE, we can see that the character originally came from Jedi Quest: The False Peace. Just something to think about. ;) Cull Tremayne 02:03, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
    • Okay, cool. Purpilia 02:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
    • It is also important to check the sources cited by CUSWE to see whether the subject makes an appearance or is only mentioned (I'm not accusing you of not having done so, but this is just something to keep in mind). Additionally at times CUSWE can be woefully non-specific in its source citations. One example that comes to mind would be its citation of Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game in a number of its entries, rather than the specific official publication in which the information originally appeared. If you don't have access to the source that CUSWE cites in order to verify the appearance or mention, my advice would be to only put the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia down as the source and use the "{{moresources}}" template at the beginning of the "Sources" heading.Muuuuuurgh 02:39, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

CSWE Edit

Hi, Purpilia.

I am thrilled that you are going through the CSWE, as well, adding the sources to the articles. Just a thought, I was curious if you had run into this issue yet and what your thoughts were. I have been working through book two (starting with "H"), and have had to create quite a few articles. I've also noticed that some articles use slightly different names. We have an article called Scrubber droid, while the CSWE calls it Hangar deck scrubber droid. I created the redirect, but on the sources list I added the following:

*''[[The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia]]'' <small>(See "Hangar deck scrubber droid")</small>

I did this to allow those who wish to find the article in CSWE the ability to do so. I think we should both try to do this, but I was curious if you preferred that wording, or would you prefer something such as "Entry as 'Hangar deck scrubber droid'" or another idea? I also think that other articles, such as Jeff Pill which we create from info in CSWE should have something that links to the original article since there is no article just on Jeff Pill (that I've found yet). What do you think? Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 02:57, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I forgot to mention, we have a template, {{C}} which allows small text, so we do not have to use the <small> html tags. Fiolli {Alpheridies University ComNet} 02:59, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
    • Okay thats awesome! I'm all for the (See "X" article) format; its short and simple and too the point. And thanks for the template, that will come in handy. I'll try to start using it right away! Purpilia 03:13, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Ordo Skirata Edit

Hi. I'm guessing that you have your own Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia based on the recent additions you've made on the page. I was wondering if you could do me a favor. I'm currently working on the Ordo Skirata page and I want to know if he has an article or page in the encyclopedia. Thanks. --ToRsO bOy 03:09, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Yeah he is in there but nothing new and nothing extravagant is included. basically it says he was a Null ARC and he was trained by Skirata. Nothing past that basic stuff. And there you have it! Purpilia 03:27, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Much thanks. I can at least add it as a source. :) --ToRsO bOy 11:37, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Kel Algwinn Edit

Hey! I noticed that the CSWE apparently kills off Kel Algwinn. Do you mind typing up the full entry or at least the part about his death? I'm curious to see if they consider him to be a Jedi/"redeemed" or not. Thanks a lot. Kebla 04:49, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

  • "An ancient Sith apprentice who trained at the Sith Academy on Korriban four millenia before the Battle of Yavin. Kel harbored doubts about the true nature of the Sith, which he admitted to his comrades, some of whom were actually Jedi Knights who had infiltrated the Academy. The Jedi later implored Algowinn to leave, and he found himself torn between loyalties. When the Sith students eventually turned against the Jedi, Algowinn was killed in the fighting. And there you have it! Purpilia 16:10, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

CSWE HelpEdit

Hey, I noticed that you've been adding a lot of info from the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia and I was wondering if you could help me out a little. I'm currently writing an article on the Imperial Sentinels and I was wondering if there was any new information on them in the book. It's currently the only source I don't have about them and it would be a great help if you could let me know of any new information. Thanks again. Xicer9Atgar(Rawr) 02:20, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Not really sure what to consider as new, but the entry is only two sentences long. It basically states that they were large guards used to protect the Emperor's citadel, and they may have been droids or cyborgs. Purpilia 02:29, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Handmaiden Sisters Edit

Hey Purpilia. I was wondering if I could ask you for a big favor. I noticed that you wrote that the CSWE states that the Handmaiden Sisters were trainees until they left the Order after the Jedi Civil War. This actually contradicts the game, since the game stated they never were trainees or even Force-sensitive. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to copy the entry for me so that I could take a look at it. I don't doubt that that is what it says, it will simply help me correct some articles. I would really appreciate it. Cylka-talk- 02:13, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Black Fleet infoEdit

You made an interesting edit that seems to provide information on Black Eleven. Can you tell me what the exact phrasing in your source is, please? Thanks!! --McEwok 16:31, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

  • "Instead the Astrolabe was destroyed by the Yevethan battle cruiser; the Yevetha claimed they were defending their territory against New Republic spies. In fact, the Yeveha had moved their entire Black Eleven Fleet to Doornik-1142 to conceal it." Thats just the fleet part, there is the description of the star before that. Hope that helps! Purpilia 19:55, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
  • Interesting. Thank you!! The only thing we knew about Black Eleven before was that it had been at one of the Yevethan worlds before they rebelled from the Empire. This confirms that it was captured. From what you quoted, it sounds like there's more on the "battle cruiser" - the Purity, which is really just a name in the novel? Any of the Black Fleet shipyards (Black Eight, Nine, Eleven, Fifteen) mentioned elesewhere? Or indeed, the Type II shipyard design? --McEwok

Eshan and the Echani Edit

Might i ask where you got the information about this planet Eshan and it being the Echani Homeworld, as i don't recall ever reading about it or seeing it mentioned anywhere else.--Kahn Iceay 06:44, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Its from the CSWE under echani (The fighting style). It says " originated with the Echani people of Eshan and was modified by the Sun Guards of Thyrsus. Purpilia 01:25, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
    • Does it have any other information in it, the CSWE, regarding the Echani as a People and a culture? With so little to go on from the games I was hoping that some canon information about them would come out as 99% of fanon anyone tries to make for them or anything really is just cliched and silly. --Kahn Iceay 18:59, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
    • Not really, it details some of their weapons and the fighting style but nothing new besides the mention of Eshan. Purpilia 19:32, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Great to see you're still going with the CSWE, We all can't thank you enough! I saw you created a page for Moff Getteles; in fact, there's already a page for Moff Getelles (notice the spelling), who is the same character. I was wondering if it was an error on your part or on the encyclopedia's?

Hello Purpilia. I just wanted to let you know that I've recently acquired the CSWE myself and want to add obscure bits of information from it. I know you've been going through some sections of the book and others have taken their own areas. What letters generally have not been covered already? -- Riffsyphon1024 05:23, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

  • I have complete the entire first book and I am up through Madrix Hansor in the second book. I have gone in order completing entrees while I have noted that some people start and pick back up in spots. So anywhere after "H" is untouched by me at least, so feel free to start adding there! Purpilia 05:33, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Rodian Salvage Cartel Edit

Hello, Purpilia, and thank you for your continous TSCWE campaign. Regarding your recent edits to pages Heavy Defenders and Drexl Roosh's gang: don't you think that perharps Drexl Roosh's gang is the Rodian Salvage Cartel? MauserComlink 15:38, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

  • I wondered but was to lazy to check the other entries to see if they were separate. I'll go ahead and check and rename it if I find anything indicating they arent just a smaller unit but I am sure that they are one in the same. Purpilia 15:42, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
    • Okay, I checked and it is very vague about any connection. By vague I mean there is nothing at all that even hints at them being together. Drexl Roosh's entry just says he was a criminal clan leader operating on Raxus Prime; the Rodian Salvage Cartel entry states that they controlled large areas of the aforementioned planet. So I don't know where that leaves the Gang article; are they a division or a group of members in the Cartel, or are they the Cartel? Purpilia 15:47, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey Purpilia Edit

Hey Purpilia, I see that you have the TCSWE and I was wondering if you can look up information about Ahsoka Tano. I'm doing a long term co-project on her for WP:TCW, and could use the information listed in TCSWE. While I'm in no rush, you can take your time with looking her up in the encyclopedia. :) JangFett Talk 04:37, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Hey, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Her entry is pretty short and mundane; it mentions that she likes to give things nicknames and list a bunch of childish terms, which is what takes up most of the blurb there. Purpilia 03:10, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
    • Great, I can source the "nickname" thing to CSWE. :) Also, do you mind looking up information about Moradmin Bast? Thank you so much, Purpilia. JangFett (Talk) 21:35, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
      • "Bast, Chief Moradmin"---Chief personal aide to Grand Moff Tarkin, rarely underestimated enemies, cunning and patience learned from hunting big game as a child, died on the Death Star. Purpilia 15:55, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
        • Thank you, Purpilia. :) JangFett (Talk) 15:56, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

CSWEEdit

Hi Purpilia. As you've worked through the CSWE, have you noticed many new planets from the encyclopedia? I know there has been a couple, such as Antamont and Aridka. If you are aware of any more, could you let me know? Those two examples were previously unidentified worlds only given a name in the CSWE. --Eyrezer 03:05, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Yeah, no problem, if I come across anything I'll let you know! Purpilia 03:10, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

The Eddawans Edit

Hi, I was wondering about an edit you made to Joli Ti Eddawan's page. Could you please give me the quote from the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia that says she died? I'd like to see it; I didn't know there was any information about the Eddawans besides Legacy of the Jedi. Thank you! --Crazy Jedi Girl

  • it just says that she and her father were ambushed by pirates and never seen again. I guess I just assumed that meant they died. Purpilia 04:59, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Blocked Edit

Dialog-error You have been blocked from editing for 1 week for continued failure to source the edits you make to Wookieepedia's Featured and Good articles. This is now the fourth time I've given you such a warning to make sure you pay attention to what you're doing. If you take a few minutes to read the rules of what constitutes a Featured article, as I've asked you to do before, you will understand that [this edit] to the Hoth asteroid field article is simply unacceptable, because it lowers the FA standards of the article. And what's worse, is that you've removed perfectly legitimate, sourced information from the infobox for no apparent reason. Considering you've already been notified that further punitive measures may be taken if you continued to do this, and even that we as a site have gone so far as to create a pretty brazen notification template informing everyone of when they're editing a status article, there's really no excuse for you here. I understand that you're not doing anything intentionally malicious here, it's that you're simply not paying attention to what you're doing. And that's the point. Regardless of your intentions, these low-quality contributions are proving a detriment to the standards we here at Wookieepedia work so hard to uphold. When you return, I expect you to pay closer attention to the articles you're editing, and to take time to source the contributions you make. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:19, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

Sourced info? Edit

Hey Purpillia, I noticed you are adding info to articles about planets, systems etc. I'm unable to find anywhere in the same sources. Where exactly you're getting these information from? They're not in the appendix in case of The Essential Atlas. Thank you.--Jedi Marty 17:48, October 23, 2009 (UTC)

  • Nevermind I found those under name of the main planets in Part II (I almost forget about them). Thank you for your valuable contributions. Cheers and keep up a good work.--Jedi Marty 18:03, October 23, 2009 (UTC)

Idlewil liquor Edit

Your article on Idlewil liquor mentions Star Wars Adventure Journal 13 under Appearances. Tell me, could you precise the specific article or short tale where it is mentioned? I'm interested on featuring the article on Shashay and I'll need very exact sourcing. Thank you very much. --Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:02, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

  • I think its actually Journal 11 and Im not sure which article it was in. I think Peter Schweighofer wrote it if that is any help. Purpilia 16:04, October 27, 2009 (UTC)

Unidentified Jedi Edit

Purpilia, I must say to you that I am strongly against the articles you're creating for unidentified Jedi. Not only they are extremely trivial and redundant, many of them also too much assumptions, incorrect ones as in the case with SWG TCG cards. I ask you to leave your opinion on why should they be allowed to exist in this Sh thread. Thank you. MauserComlink 18:14, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Darth Bane: Dynasty of Evil Edit

Hi Purpillia, I noticed you're creating new articles from just released novel, which is wonderful. I just want to let you know 980 BBY is in Rise of the Empire era and not Old Republic era as you're putting in infoboxes. Cheers and keep up a good work.--Jedi Marty 22:17, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

  • Ha so it is. Thanks!!! Purpilia 23:04, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

Blocked Edit

Dialog-error You have been blocked from editing for until the dawn of the new decade for your continued failure to pay attention to the edits you make to Wookieepedia's status articles, which namely includes paying mind to making sure everything is sourced, for which you have already been warned several times and blocked previously for, if you care to take a gander at previous messages on your talk page. Specifically, I'm blocking you for this edit, in which you failed to source the new addition you made to the infobox and left a pretty glaring redlink in the history as a result of a careless typo. In itself, this edit and these little gaffes are pretty insignificant, but considering we've been over this numerous times already, and you've already been blocked for this, this has all accumulated into another block for you. The point is, as I reiterate my previous block message to you, it's that you don't pay attention to what you're doing, and the rest of the Wookieepedia community is left to clean up after the inadequacies you leave behind, which isn't fair to anyone. So, I'm going to allow you to sit out the rest of this holiday season from editing, and perhaps the message I'm trying to get through to you will actually sink in this time. As a personal recommendation, perhaps the "Preview" edit button should become your new friend, where you can actually peruse the changes you make to ensure that everything is perfect before saving. We'll see you in 2010. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:52, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

Ahsoka edit Edit

Hey, Purpilia. I was reading your edit in the Ahsoka Tano article, and it's proper if you use last names after the person has been mentioned. It's very encyclopedic, and has been used extensively in FAs/GAs. JangFett (Talk) 23:02, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • Right. So I am curious as to why you reverted my edits, as I changed all the first names to surnames.Purpilia 23:45, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
    • Sorry for the confusion. JangFett (Talk) 00:01, March 15, 2010 (UTC)
      • Haha no problem!!!Purpilia 00:38, March 15, 2010 (UTC)

AargauEdit

Where did you get this information from? --Imperialles 13:59, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

  • I used the maps in the Essential Atlas to find the categories and the first paragraph. The second was already sourced, and the last paragraph comes from the book too I believe. I don't have it with me or I would check. Purpilia 16:43, April 22, 2010 (UTC)
    • Found it all. Cheers. --Imperialles 16:45, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

Holocron Vault Edit

Just to let you know, I've removed extensive amount of unverified information from the Holocron Vault article. There's no indication that the "vault" appeared outside of TCW, as it was created recently in canon. Unless a newer source says the vault has been used prior to 22 BBY or has been rebuilt in later eras, then we can readd information. JangFett (Talk) 15:59, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

  • The information was all sourced. The vault is the obvious source of the Dark Holocron obtained by Lorian Nod in Legacy of the Jedi when he steals it from the Jedi Temple Library. All the rest is the history of the Temple...and as the Vault is in the Temple it is relevant. So I don't understand why you removed the information...Purpilia 17:45, June 15, 2010 (UTC)
    • Actually, no, that was the Holocron Chamber. The vault is something different, that was created for TCW. Anything else is OR/speculation, and has no place within an article. JangFett (Talk) 16:06, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
      • No. The Holocron Chamber is in the Tower of First Knowledge. The Vault is in the library. Nod says he was in the library when he took it.Purpilia 16:58, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
        • Does the text say Holocron Vault, though? JangFett (Talk) 15:30, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
          • Does it need to? Where else would the Dark Holocron be kept? On some shelf??? TCW states that the holocrons stored in the library are in the vault. Nod took it from the library. I think that it is a reasonable assumption that is the most likely case. No it does not state Nod went into the library and took the artifact from the vault but I think it is ridiculous to split hairs over the fact. Purpilia 17:13, June 22, 2010 (UTC)
            • That's OR/speculation. There's no confirmation that is was the vault. The information should be removed. JangFett (Talk) 15:38, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
              • Wouldn't it be defined as whats under "What is not original research?" I am making a logical assumtion based on the data provided. The holocron comes out of the library. The holocrons are stored in the library's holocron vault. Doesn't sound like I am pulling this out of thin air does it? Does it change the substance of what happened? No. Am I making up plot points or new settings? No. I am using data from a Lucas approved television show to highlight information from a story.Purpilia 16:05, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
                • Actually, you are adding speculation into that article. It's not confirmed if it was the Holocron Vault or not. JangFett (Talk) 16:22, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
                  • Sorry to butt in. But Jang is correct. Yes, TCW depicts the holocron vault as containing holocrons. But the thing is, Legacy of the Jedi does not. For all we know, the holocron in LOTJ could be being stored somewhere else for any number of reasons. Assuming that the holocron in LOTJ is in the holocron vault would be like assuming that a Twi'lek character was born on Ryloth. Yes, other sources confirm that the Twi'lek homeworld is Ryloth, but you can't assume that every Twi'lek character was born there. It's speculation, and so is assuming that the holocron in LOTJ is in the holocron vault. Menkooroo 16:27, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
                    • Open discussion, your not butting in. While I disagree, I'll concede that arguement. What about the rest of the article. The vault would have been controlled by the Sith during the occupation of the Temple and destryoed during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Agreed? Purpilia 17:28, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
                      • Purpilia, I'm going to have to ask you to read over WP:ATT. Basically you're only speculating and adding in unverified information into articles, based on what you think. The unverified information you keep readding into the Holocron Vault article has been reverted again. Please do not readd it, unless a source confirms the holocron was in the Holocron Vault. So far the only confirmed appearance of the Vault was in a TCW episode. JangFett (Talk) 19:33, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
                        • Right...I just said I was fine with that. But I asked about whether or not it was okay to state that it was taken by the Sith during Operation Knightfall and that it was destroyed during the YVW along with the rest of the Temple. So what is your opinion on the latter? Purpilia 04:52, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
                          • Not unless it's confirmed. JangFett (Talk) 05:08, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
                          • How can you logically argue that the Holocron Vault, part of the Temple, was not taken over or ransacked by the Sith? Is it not clearly stated that the Galactic Empire maintained martial control over the complex? Purpilia 07:02, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
                            • If I might interject before this debate causes more trouble than it's worth, mentioning that the Temple itself was taken over by the Empire and was later ransacked by the Yuuzhan Vong in the Holocron Vault article would be the ideal solution to this problem. That leaves it to the reader to interpret whether or not the Holocron Vault is subject to that information instead of presenting it as fact when no source directly clarifies it. Although yes, the assumption that the Vault was taken over by the Sith and later the Yuuzhan Vong is logical, it is still an assumption, not a confirmed fact. It may be that both factions either respected or ignored the Vault enough to leave it alone—no source has outright refuted that idea despite its unlikelihood, and it nevertheless shows that the article should not assume too much when there are other as-yet possible ideas out there. CC7567 (talk) 07:25, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
                              • Again, please do not add in unverified information into the Holocron Vault article. There's absolutely nothing in the upcoming Jedi guide that mentions the information you keep adding into the article. If you haven't realized, anything that's a preview is discouraged, as it is subject to change. Please take a look at this CT for more information: [1] JangFett (Talk) 06:24, July 20, 2010 (UTC)
                                • As I cited, the book's preview underlines the words Holocron Vaults and has a scribbled note regarding the theft of the holocron. And then the fact that the Vaults are in the Archives proves they survived into the Galactic Civil War. But whatever.Purpilia 06:30, July 20, 2010 (UTC)

Tru Veld page Edit

Just out of curiosity, no hard feeling or anything, just wondering why you erased my quote from Tru Veld's page about Ferus's point of view on Tru from The Last of the Jedi: Underworld.173.28.73.21 04:30, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • Just the way it was worded was not correct. In the articles its not proper to add things like "In this book, it said this," or "Someone thought this." But if you want to add a "personality and traits" section, which could definately be beneficial to the article, you could write that stuff in your own words and just source it as which ever text you got it from! Hope that helps! Purpilia 04:38, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

Er'stacia / Er'stacian Edit

Hey, Purpilia. I'm getting ready to expand the Er'stacian article, and I noticed you added The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia to the list of sources for both that article and for Er'stacia. I asked on Forum:Entry requests for the entries from CSWE, but Master Jonathan says they don't have entries. Do you remember where they are mentioned? Is it in Mace Windu's entry, perhaps? Thanks! ~ SavageBob 17:25, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Jin-Lo Rayce Edit

Thanks for adding the category to Jin-Lo's article.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 17:48, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Holocron Vault Edit

To JangFett and Purpilia: regardless of who may be in error, please stop warring on the Holocron Vault page. Any further conflict will result in the page being locked and potential blocks being handed out, as this is not the first time that both of you have initiated a revert war on the page. Please instead discuss the problem with each other and reach a proper agreement more peaceably instead of grappling over it and turning the site into a battleground. Thank you. CC7567 (talk) 20:58, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

  • Ha tried the whole discussion thing...but thanks for the warning. I think we were ablt to beat it down to the bare minimum of what needs to be written. Purpilia 21:02, October 2, 2010 (UTC)

Moving pages Edit

Hey Purpilia, when moving pages, please make sure you use the move function as opposed to simply redirecting the page to a new title, as you did with Jedi battlemaster—this is done because the page's edit history is saved when you move it, as opposed to redirecting it. Thank you. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 03:15, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

  • Great! Thanks so much for letting me know! I really appreciate it! Purpilia 04:14, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Force speed Edit

Hey Purpilia, I noticed you put the Merge template on Force speed, which I'm sure you know is a good article. I was wondering, what source states that Force speed is the same ability as Altus sopor? I think it would be a good idea to talk to Grunny, who took Force speed to GA status, before merging the two, in case he has already considered the matter and there is a valid reason for keeping the two separate. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 23:41, October 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Same thing with Force Body—what source says that the two are the same? Just because their effects are similar doesn't mean they are automatically the same power. I would suggest reverting Force body back to its pre-redirect form before going further. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 23:43, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • And sorry for the multi-post here, but I want to especially reinforce this second point, because Force body is a canonical name for the Force power, as it was named in the trading card. And since Force Body and Altus sopor have both been canonically named, then you should not redirect one to the other unless there is a source that clearly states that they are the same power. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 23:46
    • Yeah, I didn't merge it because it was a good article. I am using The Jedi Path and going off of what it says. Basically, all of these abilities are the same and stem from this which says in very few words that they are all just variations on the same root ability. But this is just my interpretation of course... Purpilia 23:48, October 20, 2010 (UTC) October 20, 2010 (UTC)
      • If it's just your interpretation then you should by no means just start merging and redirecting articles—this needs to be discussed and looked into further before more articles are merged/redirected. It's better to be safe and make sure that the information we are presenting is 100% correct than to be too hasty and make mistakes. Again, I'd suggest undoing your redirect of Force Body. I don't have The Jedi Path so I personally can't weigh in on the situation, but I know other users do. In this case it would be best to start up an SH forum, asking around for other users' opinions, before you unilaterally start making big changes. And as for Force speed, it isn't usually best to just slap a merge tag on a good article; always check in on the article talk page or the talk page of the nominator first, just to be safe. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 23:55, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • Hey Purpilia. Having just read over the section in The Jedi Path, I really don't think they should be merged. The section basically describes three "families" of Force techniques that fall under control, similar to how Ayna-seff is a Force technique of the Hassat-durr family for the Baran Do. This is the complete section on Altus sopor:

Altus sopor is the traditional term for the ability to increase one's focus on the Force. You can practice this self-directed ability during each of your five daily meditations. In time you will learn to merge into the Force so that you become nearly invisible to others.

That is not enough to merge canonically named Force powers into it. Grunny (talk) 04:23, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

    • Okay, sounds good! Purpilia 04:56, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Fae Coven Edit

Hey, Purpilia. I've been working on the Jenet article, and I noticed that you recently named Fae Coven a Jenet based on The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force. The searchable version of the book on amazon.com does not give any hits for the word "Jenet," so can you tell me what page of the book it is that names her as one? And what page is the image of her you uploaded on? Thanks for your help! 00:41, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yeah the pic is on the third to last page (I don't have it with me right now). And her species isn't named in the book, the author confirmed her species on JCF, but I was just lazy and didn't source that...but I mean there is a picture of her so it still works though it should be changed to reference his notes. Hahaha anyway that should answer your questions!!! Purpilia 01:20, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • OK, that helps. Are there any key words or phrases on the page her pic's on? I'm trying to find it on Amazon, but I need either a page number or some key phrase to search for. In other words, it'd be awesome if you could check the book when you get access to it again! ~ SavageBob 02:07, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Noric Gestal's fate Edit

Hey, Purpilia! I'm trying to expand the Gotal article with information form Twi'light Storm, and I noticed you had created the article for Noric Gestal, the Gotal slaver. In your article, you say that in the barroom brawl in the adventure, Gestal is killed. I can't find where this is mentioned, though. Could you point me in the right direction? What page is that? Thanks! ~ SavageBob 16:23, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

  • I don't have it in front of me but I am guessing that its in TCSWE but I cant be sure. I wont be able to put my hands on my copy for a while as I am back at the university. Actually...looking at the article I saved the wrong copy when I was working on articles from the book! FAIL! I saved my notes from the TCUSWE and didn't post my version of the article, which I still have saved on my computer (at home). That's embarrassing.Purpilia 18:12, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
    • Ah, I didn't realize that Gestal had an article in the CSWE. I'll check it when I get home. Thanks for the heads up, and no worries about the confusion. :) ~ SavageBob 20:05, November 29, 2010 (UTC)

Moving pagesEdit

We're going to need you to stop trying to move pages from names they have been called in official materials to names you pull out of your ass. Considering your block history, that will be the last straw. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 18:51, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

  • Awww thanks for being so polite. And yeah, no problem. Purpilia 19:21, December 19, 2010 (UTC)
    • And its actually called "Arka Jeth's praxeum" in the god damn infobox image, so you might wanna get on that ;) Purpilia 19:28, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

Jedi Trials Edit

Hey Purpilia,

I noticed that you had done several edits to the Jedi Trials article. In one particular edit, you removed information regarding Nomi Sunrider under the edit summary of "Removing all the lists that are just speculative..." While I understand the removal of lists, the information regarding Sunrider is far from speculative, and despite it being sourced, you removed it. I was therefore wondering what your basis for such an edit was? Thanks,Tommy 9281 17:29, January 5, 2011 (UTC)

  • The example given, using her skills to defeat the thugs attacking her child, was not one of her trials. While it could have been, as far as I am aware, Thon never declared that she was taking the Trial of Courage or whatever. Its like all of the speculation on Kenobi or Skywalker's trials. Purpilia 04:26, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Darth Desolous Edit

There seems to be a disagreement over Darth Desolous and what exactly he was in TFU. Currently, Darth Desolous is nominated to be a Featured Article. As the edit warring is considered disruptive by the rules, and editing a nominated article without the nominator's blessings is considered poor form, you should bring the disagreement up as an objection on Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/Darth Desolous. The INQ will be required to either strike or endorse your objection before they can graduate or dismiss the article. This will ultimately resolve the edit war, allow the article to be worked according to standards, and achieve a final consensus on the matter without breaking any more rules and risking a ban. SinisterSamurai 20:07, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

  • Please take a look at my proposal regarding this matter on the FAN page and tell me whether you agree with it or not. QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 17:12, March 16, 2011 (UTC)
    • I've made the appropriate changes to the article. Please see if that satisfies your objection. QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 11:47, March 26, 2011 (UTC)
      • Yeah, looks good. Purpilia
        • Can you strike your objection on the FAN page, then? QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 13:59, March 26, 2011 (UTC)

Core Worlds Security ActEdit

Hey Purpilia, when you created Core Worlds Security Act back in 2009, you added in Star Wars Insider as a source, but didn't specify which issue or article. Would you happen to remember where you saw it? Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 06:18, March 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yeah, it was issue 73. Purpilia 13:07, March 15, 2011 (UTC)

Jedi biographies Edit

Hey Purpilia! I doubt there is any hint in the Dark Lord that the Jedi whose articles you've created were discovered to be Force-sensitive by doctors. If there isn't, it's speculation and should be removed. Imperators II(Talk) 16:21, April 13, 2011 (UTC)

Antmuel VI Edit

Hey, Purpilia! I notice that you had expanded the article on Antmuel VI with information taken from The Essential Atlas. I've been looking for data on the planet, but I cant' seem to find it in the Atlas. Do you remember what page the info comes from, or in what section? Thanks! ~SavageBOB sig 03:44, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

  • Also, where in Heroes & Rogues is the rotation period, orbital period, etc. detailed? ~SavageBOB sig 03:49, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

Covenant ShadowEdit

Hi Purpilia. In 2008, you added the sentence "After the execution of Operation: Vindication, all Shadows were either killed or taken into custody by the Jedi Order." to the article on the Covenant Shadows. What was the source for this? I have been trying to track it down without any luck so far. Cheers. --Eyrezer 11:04, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

External links Edit

Hi. Just a quick note about your recent edits: the section where you put external links such as to entries of the CUSWE is called External links, not External sources. Cheers, grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 00:45, October 9, 2011 (UTC)

What is the source for him being the member of the Jedi High Council? QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 10:38, December 20, 2011 (UTC)

  • Sorry, I didn't source it. It is from The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural.Purpilia 22:24, December 20, 2011 (UTC)
    • OK, thanks. Is there any other info of note on him? QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 14:27, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
      • I am going to have to reread the article and compare them to see what info is new an what is not. I can post that info here if you wanna add it. Purpilia 20:42, December 21, 2011 (UTC)
        • Please do. I'd appreciate that. QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 13:52, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Speculation Edit

Hi Purpilia. Please do not add speculation and original research as you did to Jedi Council of Seers. The quote I have now added at the top of the article is the only mention of the council and gives no mention of them being on Ossus or acting in advisory capacity to the Jedi High Council, nor even that it was made up entirely of Jedi Masters. Everything must be verifiable and your own assumptions and interpretations do not fit that. Cheers, grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 05:55, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

Meditation Edit

If you need anything on findsman meditation or Zuckuss's meditations, let me know and I'll dig out the appropriate sources. :) Trak Nar Ramble on 05:37, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yes please!!! Hahaha I know only Jedi and Sith so any additional information you can add would be greatly appreciated!!!! Purpilia 05:39, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
    • Then tomorrow, first thing, I'll dig through my stuff and pull out the appropriate sources. Currently, they're still packed away, as I had just recently moved, but they're more or less accessible. Trak Nar Ramble on 05:43, March 28, 2012 (UTC)
      • Okay, here we go...
  • In Alien Anthology, in the Findsman Prestige Class system:
    • Meditation rituals
    • Methods of such rituals kept secret from all others except other members of that findsman's sect.
    • Meditation must be without interruption for the findsman to gain benefit, and the findsman doesn't tolerate the company of those who rush them.
    • Meditation rituals can be used to access certain Force abilities, such as Battlemind, Force Whirlwind, Force Healing, Farsight, etc.
    • Meditations take up to two hours to complete.
  • In Of Possible Futures: The Tale of Zuckuss and 4-LOM:
    • Zuckuss prefers to meditate in hyperspace.
      • Meditate in a city, you sense the actions of its citizens
      • Meditate in orbit above a planet, you sense where that world's cultures were heading
      • Meditate in hyperspace, you sense the underlying feelings that motivate the majority of sentients and glimpse the destiny of the galaxy
    • Zuckuss averages two-hour meditations. One meditation lasted for 2.11 hours.
      • Zuckuss once received knowledge within 8.37 minutes of a meditation, but 4-LOM concluded it to be an anomaly.
    • Zuckuss maintains a 91.33725 chance of being correct, which gave him a greater accuracy than most Gands.
    • When meditating, Zuckuss maintains a regular respiration rate: Inhales, holds breath for one beat, exhales, holds breath for one beat
    • When meditating, Zuckuss views his visions as swirling mists that shroud certain information.
    • 4-LOM has also meditated.
      • He sequestered himself in Acquisition cell one, with his legs crossed, hands in lap, forefingers turned under thumbs.
      • He had to override his logic programming in order to receive "visions" much as Zuckuss does.
      • After they had joined the Rebel Alliance, 4-LOM continued to practice meditation and has had several visions, one which he related both to Zuckuss (who didn't doubt him) and eventually to Luke Skywalker:
        • 4-LOM saw himself sitting with young Jedi Knights in a newly-established academy. He could not tell if he had learned the ways of the Force, or if he was still attempting to learn them.
  • In Galaxy Guide 3: The Empire Strikes Back (Second Edition):
    • Meditations on average take about three hours.
  • In Alien Encounters:
    • Findsmen derive "omens" from their elaborate and arcane rituals.
    • Non-Gand find the accuracy of these rituals to be unsettling.
  • In How the Other Half Hunts
    • Zuckuss's meditative rituals decipher the "swirling mists of the future."
  • In Aurra Sing: Dawn of the Bounty Hunters:
    • Zuckuss usually hides his beliefs and practices from others.
      • Only 4-LOM is witness to Zuckuss's rituals.
        • 4-LOM shows curiosity about the rituals and wishes to function the same as Zuckuss.
  • In Star Wars: The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection 8:
    • Findsmen use meditation to focus their Force abilities.
  • That's it that I could come across on the topic of meditation. Hope that helps! Trak Nar Ramble on 06:34, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
    • D'oh! GIANT Freudian slip on my part. I meant to say Meditate in hyperspace, not "mate"! Sorry about that, I didn't catch it until right before I went to bed. XD Trak Nar Ramble on 03:20, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
      • Hahahaha no big deal! Thanks for all the info; it was a great help! Purpilia 13:40, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

Essential Guide to Warfare-cover
"War is ruin, predicted, and then remembered as glory."
Hello <insert name here>! Thanks for joining WookieeProject: Warfare! As you can probably guess, our purpose is to get all of the information from The Essential Guide to Warfare into the wiki.

If you have the Guide, you can tell there's a great deal of work to be done. The Guide has introduced a great deal of new characters, events, ships, and other information, and it's gonna take some work to get it all in the wiki. A major issue that we have to resolve is the new exact dates for all of the conflicts that the Guide has introduced. Many of these conflicts had approximate dates before the Guide was released, and we have to remedy these articles to reflect the new information. If you have any questions or comments, head on over to the forums or let me know on my talk page. Take a look around the project page, and good luck editing!

Sidrona Diath Edit

Hey, Purpilia, why'd you remove everything about Sidrona Diath being Supreme Chancellor? I have no idea who the character is, but I was just wondering what changed. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 15:05, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

  • No one could come up with a source. I asked over at Jedi Council Forums and people who had the sources listed on the page could not find anything on his Chancellorship. If you have a source, feel free to re-add the info back. Purpilia 15:11, May 10, 2012 (UTC)
  • A few of us checked through the Tales of the Jedi Companion, which was purportedly the source, and couldn't find anything on it. I've now tagged Galactic Republic Chancery election, 4,000 BBY with {{Verify}}, as the TOTJ Companion doesn't seem to be the source. Menkooroo 19:35, May 10, 2012 (UTC)
    • Sounds good to me! Purpilia 19:38, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

Congrats! Edit

Hey, Purpilia. You've been doing a lot of great work on this wiki for years. We all really appreciate it. I'm not going to give you a Wookiee Cookiee... instead, I'm going to congratulate you on being voted July's Wookieepedian of the Month!

I'm also wondering if you'd like to be interviewed on Wookieepedia NewsNet. I've interviewed the last five or so WOTM winners, and a link to the interview gets posted on Wookieepedia's Main Page (about halfway down on the right side, although the titles are currently screwed up). Last month, we assaulted the winner with a group interview where a whole bunch of people asked the questions. Is that something in which you'd be interested? If so, let me know here, and various users will post questions here over the next few days. You can answer them at your leisure, then the interview will be published on Wookieepedia NewsNet and linked to on Wookieepedia's Main Page!

Anyway, let me know what you think, and congrats again! Menkooroo (talk) 02:49, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Wow, thanks; total surprise. Guess everyone doesn't hate me after all :P So yeah, I think I can suffer an interview in return for such an honor, just let me know if there is anything else I have to do! Thanks again for letting me know!!! Purpilia (talk) 06:23, July 2, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Purpilia,

Just wanted to congratulate you on becoming Wookieepedian of the month, as I do for every user awarded this. Also I wanted to say that your birthday is the day before mine, and the same day as Mark Hamill. :) --90.213.17.20 15:25, July 2, 2012 (UTC)Bofalof

InterviewEdit

  • 1) *passes torch* Congrats! Now, I'll steal the easy one for the first question: how does it feel to be WotM? Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit 00:23, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
    • I am actually really surprised and humbled to have been noticed and nominated!!! Thanks again!!! Purpilia (talk) 04:52, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
  • I have a couple for now:
    • 2) Can you tell us what your username means?
      • Hahaha, I dreaded this question the moment I saw the word interview! The sad and honest truth is I long ago forgot what it meant. Did it have a meaning to me at some point in my childhood? Yes. What was it? Long forgotten. Wish I knew, seeing how it has become associated with me in many places beyond Wookieepedia. Sorry, I know it is not a satisfying answer but I couldn't even come up with a good lie. Purpilia (talk) 05:15, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
    • 3) What interests you the most about editing Wookieepedia? Menkooroo (talk) 00:29, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
      • I guess just being able to feel like I contributed something to people looking to learn about something related to Star Wars who maybe can't afford the books or forgot some little fact. Also, I have seen some of the things I have written show up in published work such as The Jedi Path, so it is really cool to see that authors peruse pages I wrote. I am specifically referring to titles like First Knowledge quarter and Jedi Trials Chamber, both of which were just nicknames I assigned the articles.Purpilia (talk) 05:15, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
  • 4) Hypothetical question: If you could change one Wookieepedia policy, which policy and what would the changes entail? Gal-icon OLIOSTER (talk) 00:33, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
    • Ugh! The naming policy. But only for the stupid ones. Like Darth Tenebrous. I think it is dumb. :) Purpilia (talk) 04:52, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
  • 5) Describe the one (and only one) book, game, movie, etc. that you would absolutely love to see made (this cannot be one that already exists, including items announced but not yet released). Also, describe the one book, game, movie, etc. that you hope is never made (same condition as before). —MJ— Comlink Tuesday, July 3, 2012, 00:48 UTC
    • Made: Hmmmm that is a tough one. I would say that I'd enjoy reading a novel set during the New Sith Wars. Not a rehash of the major conflict, but perhaps a one-shot staring a smuggler or pirate struggling through the chaos of Sith-, Jedi-, and Republic-controlled space. I don't know, the plot needs work, but I think The Essential Guide to Warfare set up the political climate and the uniqueness of that time period really well for a good novel. Purpilia (talk) 05:15, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
    • Not made: Any more movies or tv set in time periods already covered! As much as I would love to see some of my favorite stories on the little or big screen, TCW has already proven that those stories we know and love can be destroyed in a heartbeat, sometimes seemingly out of spite ( I am referring to the countless offhand and unnecessary remarks heard on TCW that undo continuity just for fun).Purpilia (talk) 05:15, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
  • I forgot to say that thing I always say! Feel free to answer these in as many or as few words as you'd like. Phew. Also, let us know if there are any pictures you'd like included, similar to the ones here and here. Also here are some more questions:
    • 6) You were blocked from editing a few times throughout the years, but you always rebounded and kept on going, and now here you are as the Wookieepedian of the Month. Do you have any advice for anyone who's been blocked and is maybe discouraged from editing anymore?
      • Advice? Don't get discouraged because of things done to you in the past. Whether the charges are right or wrong, learn from your mistakes and strive to do better. Don't feel the need to avenge yourself or through a fit; nobody cares about or respects that. If you enjoy doing something, keep on doing it. Purpilia (talk) 17:23, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
    • 7) You've been keeping our articles on Dawn of the Jedi up to date. What do you think of the series so far? Are you a big fan of John and Jan?
      • The series so far is very intriguing. I don't really know who the main character is or how they are going to progress the storyline but that is what good story telling is all about; leading the readers down a path they couldn't navigate by themselves. The art is great as everyone has come to expect, and I hope that DotJ excites everyone as much as Legacy did. Purpilia (talk) 17:23, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
    • 8) You've also added some content from the new Kinect Star Wars game. Is the dancing in that game as terrifying as they say? Menkooroo (talk) 01:07, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
      • More terrifying then Abeloth, yet not as terrifying as the TCW continuity war. Purpilia (talk) 04:52, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
  • I, too, have questions!
    • 9) So, what music do you listen to while going on minor edit sprees? Anything to help keep a good tempo and prevent monotony from setting in?
      • I listen to Pandora, the internet radio station. Anything from pop, dance music, disco, Bulgarian chalga; a wide array of things really!
    • 10) What advice would you give to other users who may just be starting out, or former lurkers who decide to edit?
      • Don't edit anything I have edited! Those pages are perfect!!! Just kidding; I'd say that the best way to start is small, observe all the rules, and be patient with other members who might be impatient with people who don't know everything there is to know about editing. Bookmark useful pages such as the template and infobox pages, learn how to cite, and preview, preview, preview!!! Purpilia (talk) 17:23, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
    • 11) Do you have any article goals? Any FANs or GANs on the horizon?
      • Maybe in the future; I like revamping pages bit by bit for now. Purpilia (talk) 04:52, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
    • 12) Do you write any fanon? Do you participate in fanon activities?
      • I wish I had enough time to actually write coherently; alas, life works against me. Purpilia (talk) 16:33, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
  • Congrats on being WotM! Trak Nar Ramble on 02:16, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
  • Few more from me:
    • 13) In 2012, what role do you think Wookieepedia plays in the Star Wars franchise? What role do you try to play within Wookieepedia?
      • I definitely see it playing a larger and more active role in the franchise as it is plain to see that authors and others involved officially with the production of books, comics, and the cartoon series read these articles and draw from the information collected here. Purpilia (talk) 04:52, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
    • 14) Should we try to make Wookieepedia available in pill form? Or maybe as a spray-on product?
      • Wouldn't want the FDA banning it for its addictive properties. Purpilia (talk) 04:52, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
    • 15) What are some of your favorite works of the Expanded Universe? Who are some of your favorite characters? Menkooroo (talk) 02:31, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
      • The Darth Plagueis novel ranks up there, along with the ROTS novel, Labyrinth of Evil, and the Republic series of comics. Characters? Hmmmm...I always like reading Palpatine, and really any OJO Jedi. NJO characters' characterizations normally anger me hahaha Purpilia (talk) 16:33, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
  • Hey, Purp. Congrats on gaining this milestone. I have a few questions of my own:
    • 16) Do you enjoy video games? If so, which ones do you play the most? Any Star Wars titles?
      • I play SWTOR, Battlefront, TFU when I have a minute to spare. Purpilia (talk) 16:33, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
    • 17) Do you enjoy the new Star Wars material that is coming out? If so, which new future title or series (book, comic, video game, etc.) are you most looking forward to?
      • I like certain things coming out. I look forward to the continuation of DotJ and SWTOR related material, but not really looking forward to more TCW continuity drama between fans and the big heads running the show. Purpilia (talk) 16:33, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
    • 18) Have you seen my YouTube video?
      • I have now :D Purpilia (talk) 16:33, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
    • 19) Do you have any plans to take over the internet for your own devious purposes?
      • Slowly, very slowly, my plans will come to fruition. Purpilia (talk) 16:33, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
  • That's it from me. Congrats again.—Cal JediInfinite Empire (Personal Comm Channel) 02:36, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
  • Question:
    • 20) For how long do you foresee your life allowing you to continue your contributions to the Wook?
      • Well, I work a lot in the summer, but I am trying to stay active, plus my fourth year of university this fall. Who knows after that. Purpilia (talk) 16:33, July 10, 2012 (UTC)

Your edit on "Council of First Knowledge" Edit

Hi, there was an error on the page Council of First Knowledge (Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; no text was provided for refs named SWR71) that came from your 2010 edit. I assumed that you were citing Star Wars: Republic 71: The Dreadnaughts of Rendili, Part 3 so I went ahead and made the edit, but can you let me know if that's correct? Thanks! Kinect Edit

Hi Purpilia. I've seen you add some content relating to Kinect Star Wars, and I'm trying too, but the story is very confusing and almost seemingly non-canon at times. Do you know when it takes place? Also, are you sure that invasion of Kashyyyk is the same Battle of Kashyyyk during the Separatist Crisis? Because from what I understand, Shu Mai was ordering the whole thing, not Darth Sidious. Stake black msg 20:01, October 7, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yeah it is really confusing and I can't really remember what made me think it was the same incident. I think the beginning is before the war based on the fact that the Order was establishing an outpost there in the first place. There may be more there that points to when in the timeline it is from but I don't remember. Purpilia (talk) 23:23, October 7, 2012 (UTC)

Edits and TEAEdit

Hello, I saw that you undo my edits. Is it because you have wrote those articles or just because you saw my deletions? It was unverified infos. Hk 47 (talk) 16:35, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

  • Population is defined on the population maps. Affiliation is defined on various maps throughout the Atlas. Sub-regions are defined on the sub-region pages. Era of discovery is detailed in the Galactic Explorations map. All of the edits you removed are not unverified, they are detailed in the maps. I reverted your edits because they are removing valid information. Purpilia (talk) 23:11, October 24, 2012 (UTC)
    • Yes I agree with those facts. But you can't deduce the affiliations just from the global affiliation of a region. You can conclude about the affiliations for system only if they are specificaly mentioned on the map. The authors have explained this on the forums, the colored area give the affiliations of the regions and important systems mentioned but not for the others system in order to let more possibilites for other authors. Hk 47 (talk) 21:40, October 25, 2012 (UTC)
      • And as my edits should reflect, I tried to use wording such as "xxx" planet was located in space controlled by "xxx". That, in my opinion, in sufficient for conveying what you said above. If I didn't correctly word something, please point it out and I will correct it versus deleting whole paragraphs.Purpilia (talk) 19:16, October 26, 2012 (UTC)
        • If you want, you can write something like "the planet was located in xxx space" but you can't add the faction in the list of affiliations if the planet is not specificaly placed in a faction area. The best exemple is the new empire (137 aby) map : It's clear that the empire control almost all sectors of the galaxy but it doesn't control all planets and systems. The authors explained that they wanted to show the global affiliation but not the planetary affiliations because the legacy series was not over when TEA was released. Hi. I just reverted parts of your edit to Erg Krow. Please don't add conjectural information to articles. The year 3,996 BBY for the battle was - to my knowledge - never mentioned in SWG. It also never said that he was trained by the Jedi Order (sounds plausible, but we can't just assume it), or that he was charged with the enclave's security defenses. It's also never said that the crystal was used to power the shield generators, it's rather described as enhancing the Jedis' powers. I also don't think an orbital bombardment was mentioned in the game or that he was "left drained from the taxing exertion of the Force". Please be more careful. Thanks, --91.67.140.3 01:58, February 18, 2013 (UTC)

Tefaun Edit

Hello Purpilia, does anything confirm Soth Petikkin's species are the same as Tefauns? The only source I'm aware of is the new Blog post mentioning the Tefaun Kelek, which to me doesn't seem to be solid enough proof. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 01:11, September 27, 2013 (UTC)

Jedi training centers Edit

CorewatchEdit

I'm having problems sourcing this page Bonic Tarracus. You created the page where you listed him as the real identity of Corewatch but I can't find that reveal anywhere. Do you recall specifically where this information was listed? --praguepride (Talk) 22:28, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

  • Honestly, I have no idea; it was son long ago. If I had to guess it was somewhere in the CSWE. If you cannot find it in there, I would just remove it or ask on the talk page. I had to have put it in for some reason, especially since I created the page, but again, its been so long I have forgotten what that reason might have been. Thanks for asking though, and I hope you can come across the correct source. Purpilia (talk) 05:23, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

Jedi edits Edit

Why exactly are you calling the Barsen'thor a Jedi Knight? They're a Jedi Consular. Also, you'd be much better off if you turned on the orange-redirect Gadget in your preferences. You're leaving redirects everywhere. Cade StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 03:26, October 15, 2014 (UTC)

  • I'll fix the redirect thing; the Barsen'thor is a Jedi Knight, who happens to be a Jedi Consular. Consular isn't a rank like Padawan, Knight and Master. Its a specialization like Consular, Guardian, Sentinel. But regardless, I'll just stop editing these pages to make everyone's lives easier. Purpilia (talk) 04:02, October 15, 2014 (UTC)
    • You're incorrect. They expressly go out of their way to not refer to the Consular as a Knight; it's just "Jedi". Cade StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 04:05, October 15, 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the dating of "SkyeWalkers" Edit

Hello Purpilia! I see that you're hesitating as to which date you should use between 22 and 21 BBY when it comes to dating the events of SkyeWalkers: A Clone Wars Story. If you look at the continuity section of the article, you'll understand why I used 21 BBY. Cheers. --LelalMekha (talk) 01:59, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks for that! I was just concerned because Anakin is still a Padawan during the story. And therefore I didn't known if the NEC's date was still being honored or if the note at the beginning was meant to be a retcon for that.Purpilia (talk) 04:56, March 9, 2015 (UTC)
    • Now that I think of it, you're probably right about that; it's most likely a retcon. I tend to forget that most NEC dates were made obsolete, since the overwhelming majority of Clone Wars stories before the release of TCW had to be crammed into the early first year of the war... --LelalMekha (talk) 10:18, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Edit to "Chosen One" article based on blacked out text in The Jedi Path Edit

Hi, in this edit to the Chosen One/Legends article you added some information about the interpretation of the prophecy by Fae Coven, and your edit note said "All of that information comes from the text blacked out in the Jedi Path. Despite being blacked out, it is published there so it should still be accurate, right?" But if the text is blacked out, how did you glean any information from it? Were you just guessing based on a few isolated phrases that are visible, or do you have some inside information (or was the full text actually published somewhere)? If it was just a guess I think this should be removed from the article as overly speculative--as the information in the "behind the scenes" section of the Chosen One/Legends article shows, Lucas himself thought the Dark Side "needs to be there" for balance to exist, not that the Light Side is inherently balanced and the Dark Side is inherently unbalanced. He seems to have thought of the prophecy in terms of eliminating the Sith (who in other Legends material were unbalancing the Force as a whole by strengthening the Dark Side and weakening the Light for Force-users everywhere), not eliminating the Dark Side itself. Hypnosifl (talk) 21:03, February 20, 2016 (UTC)

  • "The Jedi Archives contain many prophecies. Talented Jedi with the gift of future sight are able to see where a river empties into the ocean no matter what path or turn it may take along their way. The prophecy of the Chosen One is one of the oldest prophecies Mortis held in the ancient Holocrons. In the time of greatest despair, a child shall be born, who will destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force. All Jedi students should understand that fulcrum "balance" does not mean that good accepts the existence of evil, in the way that sunlight gives rise to shadow. The dark has nothing to do with balance. Balance is a bed of green algaes that fees a school of darters whose numbers are kept in check by bog gulpers. Balance is the circle of life present in monolith systems. But beware, the greed of the dark side acts like a cancer on the living Force and the Sith are its chief agents. The prophecy of the Chosen One is both simple and seductive. Some may think the prophecy monolith that the Jedi need do nothing to combat evil besides wait for the Chosen One to arrival. This temptation toward laziness should be shunned, for the Order exists to serve others. true, the Jedi must act as if it is not. Responsibility does not lie with a single savior, but with all the Jedi Order.

Many will wonder whether the prophecy of the Chosen One still applies to modern shape-changing. Aftar all, the Sith have been extinct for nearly nine hundred years. Master Sooloot believed the prophecy dated from the First Great Schism, and that the line about the Sith was added later to refine the original text. The Chosen One would surely be a vessel of pure Force energy, someone whose father into existence by the midi-chlorians themselves to act as their agent. Such a being would be beyond the authority of the Jedi Council."

The black out text is readable on the amazon preview. Some of it is garbled, but it is easy enough to follow the sentences. Some of the words like fulcrum and monolith, even Mortis doesn't necessarily make sense in my opinion, but I interpreted their insertion as a deliberate tease, as you can make out some of the words in the print edition by just the tops or bottoms of the letters.Purpilia (talk) 04:32, February 21, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, looking at the pages on amazon preview is a neat trick. I looked for more info on this and found this blog post from the author of The Jedi Path where he says:
p. 13: Look, here's the Prophecy of the Chosen One! Just kidding, it's been ripped out. Back when this book was in the outline stage we intended to have a section on the Chosen One, but Lucasfilm let us know that they would be doing some very interesting things in that area relatively soon. To avoid a conflict, and to reinforce the sense that this was an old text that had been damaged over time, we elected to "rip out" these pages and leave only fragments behind. But text would still be visible on the fragments. I didn't want this fragmentary text to read "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" and therefore I wrote a full Prophecy of the Chosen One entry, knowing that it would never make it into the final version.
So it sounds like the author only wrote up the text so that the fragments people can see would look like part of a genuine Jedi text, with no intention that the full text would be visible (as evidenced by the fact that the text visible on the amazon preview seems to have been assembled from stitched-together fragments of various sections of what the author originally wrote). And the specific reason they didn't want an actual visible prophecy was to avoid contradicting Lucasfilms' own plans for future revelations about the prophecy--most likely this is referring to the Mortis arc on The Clone Wars, since the first episode of that arc, Overlords, aired in 2011 while The Jedi Path page says it was published in 2010. In the original fancy "vault edition" the pages were actually torn out so that there was no chance anyone could read them, but in the later cheaper edition this was changed to the blacked-out-lines, I'm guessing it was just an accident that the ink color wasn't perfectly black so when it was scanned to make the amazon preview, the scanner made the text under the blacked-out part darker and readable.
Would it be OK with you if I moved the info taken from the blacked-out part in "The prophecy" section of the Chosen One article into the "Behind the scenes" section? That way I could explain the background info from the author about why the prophecy was ripped out/blacked out, and readers could draw their own conclusions about whether it should have the same level of canonicity as the rest of The Jedi Path. And the "Behind the scenes" section already has a lot of info from different sources that's relevant to interpreting what "restore balance to the Force" really means, whether it's about removing the influence of the Dark Side altogether or just destroying the Sith. Wookiee Cookie Edit

Wookieecookiefor completing the biography of Dalien Brock and treating it of stub disease.

This has been a matter of stress for me for quite some time on this wiki as I could not bear seeing the article of a main character stand as a stub entirely devoid of a biography section, but aside from the fact that I have little free time to devote to Wookieepedia, I found the novel Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void to be so agonizingly boring that upon finishing it, I was relieved that I would never have to revisit it ever again! Then I saw the barren article of Dalien Brock =_= and I thought to myself, by the stars! I am totally going to have to find the time to review every chapter of the novel to write this since my mind retained nothing about the story... Well thank you very much for beating me to it, as after so much time, I thought for sure that there was simply no one on here who had a copy of the book that was interested in writing it. FFG stuff Edit

Just wanted to let you know that we consider FFG content based on stuff originating in TCW and Rebels to be canon. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 19:30, December 18, 2016 (UTC)

  • Yes, thanks. I saw that conversation on the discussion page for Nexus of Power a little late. I had asked about the Legends/Canon thing a few months ago and had gotten a little bit of a nebulous answer, but I should have looked into it again. So I will adjust everything going forward.Purpilia (talk) 19:35, December 18, 2016 (UTC)

Nexus of Power Edit

Hi Purpilia; can you please explain why you are creating both Canon and Legends pages on the same subject from the same source please? - Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 14:25, December 24, 2016 (UTC)

  • Sure. Over the course of the past several months, there has been a broken and disjointed discussion across several pages as to how to approach the FFG books as they seem to contain both Legends and Canon material. The consensus, as far as I interpret it, was that the book contains information that can be applied to both canon and Legends pages. The book describes some settings as IU myths, while also referencing them as Legends canon. Therefore, certain information exists in both a canon and Legends universe.

Now, I also recognize that this might not be exactly an official stance, but certain pages can't be updated without reaching a decision and its been months since the books were released and it doesn't seem like there is a serious rush by anyone else to address the issue. Things that were never mentioned in Canon, like Weik and Auratera, I just created Legends articles. Opposite is true for anything to do with Lothal. Things like the Coruscant Jedi Temple, when NoP came out, were split between using the canon fate of the Temple and the Legends locations for the interior. Circumstances have since changed because of the revised CL, which uses the old cross-section, thus making things like the Room of 1000 fountains canon. Others, like Ossus, I just put bare bones information in the canon article, because the meat of the text in the book is detailed as IU myth/Legends. But Ossus exists in canon, is related to the Jedi, and had a library on it according to other sources.

To conclude, I'm trying to work off of the talk page discussions that took place several months ago by other members. If there is a better way to display the information, I am open to it, and in no way feel like the way I've been updating the pages has to be the way its done if a better way can be thought up. Purpilia (talk) 14:43, December 24, 2016 (UTC)

Recent edit to jedi trials and trial of skill needs to go into the canon side of the page instead of legends due to the book you referenced being canon not legends.Arinu Ling 01:40, January 9, 2017 (UTC)

  • Please direct me to the discussion where the Wook's policy has clearly and explicitly defined all FFG content as canon only, versus the Legends/Canon nebulous divide I've been working with. Thank you.Purpilia (talk) 06:03, January 9, 2017 (UTC)

First define FFG. Then explain why any content that gets published passed the date Disney took over is considered legends instead of canon. Though I understand that your edit fits nicely, it's still pulled from a book that is considered canon due to the date its published as well as the contents being from the new canon series rebels. Common sense man. I'm not trying to hurt you in any way. I just ask that things go where they properly belong. If I had pulled what you did, it would have been corrected much faster and more efficiently. All I ask is that you do the same courtesy. Simply correct the mistake

  • Fantasy Flight Games. I am not hurt in any way. The game isn't explicitly canon (unless you can point me to a discussion on the Wook where it has been decided otherwise), and it contains both Legends and Canon materiel. For instance, the Aleen section of the book contains references to the Infinite Empire, something not explicitly canon. More specifically, a section on a cult operating on Empress Teta is referred to as either the Krath in Legends or a random cult in canon. This has been discussed on the Nexus of Power, Jedi Temple, Lothal Jedi temple, Force and Destiny, and other pages, all to no definitive answer or firm policy. So no, unfortunately not common sense, man. I am not against it being considered canon or Legends, or anything. I have no desire for anything other then the information that is in the book to be put on the site in some form. But, as the consensus from the talk pages seems to make these books into a gray area, I am putting them in both Legends and Canon articles where appropriate.Purpilia (talk) 03:50, January 10, 2017 (UTC)

Thank you the info. I apologize for undoing your work. Please undo my undo :)

"TJP" in Jedi artisan Edit

Hi Purpilia. Jedi artisan#Notes and references contains an undefined reference nicknamed "TJP," which you added a year ago. Do you happen to remember what this reference was supposed to be? Thanks. Asithol (talk) 16:50, January 23, 2018 (UTC)

  • Hi there. I do believe it was meant to stand for The Jedi Path, but after a quick flip through the book, coupled with the fact that it isn't a source, I think it might just be a copy and paste error. When I added it, many of the Jedi career specializations didn't have the infobox so I rapidfire added them. Because it doesn't have the full reference, I assume I deleted it, but missed that particular line. Probably safe to remove it now.Purpilia (talk) 17:22, January 23, 2018 (UTC)
    • Hmm. That citation is used three times in the infobox, and I notice it's used for the same three pieces of information (where it does, as you surmise, resolve to The Jedi Path) in the Jedi Sentinel article—which could support your presumption of a copy/paste error, or could indicate that that book documents the same information about both Jedi classes. (I don't have that book, so I can't do my own look-see.) Do you have Endless Vigil? That's used as a citation for several other pieces of information in the artisan infobox, so I wonder if it's the true source of our mystery three as well. (Really, the fact that the Jedi High Council oversees Jedi of all stripes seems like it could be referenced to any number of things, but the eras are trickier, especially if it can't be documented that the Jedi artisan class existed throughout the pre–Order 66 Jedi Order.) Asithol (talk) 02:43, January 24, 2018 (UTC)
      • So, I do have Endless Vigil and the codification of the Sentinel philosophical school is described as having happened around the Ruusan Reformations as a necessary bridge between the Guardian and Consular schools. Artisans are a specialization of the Sentinel philosophy and are the craftsbeings of the class. However, it is sort of ambiguous if all the classes in F&D are intended to reflect Jedi frameworks. For example, Jedi Shadows are clearly related to the Shadows in EV, both because of previous sources and because the book details the role "Jedi Shadows" played in the Order. However, "Jedi Artisan" does not appear in the text at a cursory glance. We know they exist because of the Felanil Baaks article of old, but the implication of EV is that the Artisan is the Jedi Tech Expert described in The Jedi Path. To quote, "A Shien Expert might bring an element of Jedi tradition to the group, while an Artisan serves as the group's tech expert." I don't think TJP expressly uses the term artisan, but it does talk about Jedi Sentinels specializing as Tech Experts.Purpilia (talk) 17:57, January 24, 2018 (UTC)
        • Oof. Clear as mud. Seems like those implied connections ought to be documented in BTS sections, but lacking all the relevant source material myself, I don't feel qualified to write them. Anyway, as far as my original question, since there's no clear source for the "TJP" items in the Jedi artisan infobox, I'll just slap {{Fact}} templates on them, and let someone who has access to the relevant books, and the time to go through them, figure it out. Thank you for your input! Asithol (talk) 00:29, January 25, 2018 (UTC)

Endless indeed Edit

Hiya Purpilia. In our previous discussion you mentioned that you have Endless Vigil, so do you think you'd be able to take a crack at this question, which also requires that book? I'm not sure how easy that specific ejection seat is to find in it. But if you have a chance, thanks for checking! Asithol (talk) 00:25, September 11, 2018 (UTC)

  • Sure, no problem! On page 58 I see it described as "Incom ACE Ejection Seat." All of the seats actually are described there as "Ejection" and I don't see a single mention of "Ejector." Hope that helps! Purpilia (talk) 01:01, September 11, 2018 (UTC)
    • Great, thank you! I'll update the page. Asithol (talk) 17:49, September 11, 2018 (UTC)
