Please, SERIOUS questions here.

We're halfway there[]

Hey Riffsyphon1024... good job

So guys, we're nearing the halfway point with this barn-burner. I just want to send out a broad message thanking everyone who has and plans on participating in Wookieepedia's second barn-burner, and update you guys on how it's going so far. So far, we have promoted nine Comprehensive Articles, twelve Good Articles, and one Featured Article! Fantastic job everyone who wrote and reviewed those weapons articles, I couldn't have asked for a better group to do so. We also have a number of current Good and Featured Article Nominations currently up, which you can see here.

However, as we approach the halfway point, I do want to encourage you all to keep writing and reviewing weapon articles for the barn-burner. Our goal should be to meet or surpass the level set by the previous barn-burner, which had over forty promoted articles. While we should aim to pass as many articles as possible by the end of the month, I may extend the barn-burner a little into September for any stragglers, especially for those Users who are writing extremely long Featured Articles for the project.

I should also notify participants of a recent Consensus Track over weapons that is about to pass. The CT is over when we should fill in the "Owners" field for Template:Weapon. Right now, it seems as if we are leaning towards filling in the field for unique weapon types, and not filling in the field for general weapon types. As such, we should fix any weapons we have, or will, write for the barn-burner to fit these new parameters. Thanks you for reading this, and keep up the good work. Kilson(Let's have a chat) 09:43, August 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the big update Kilson! I'm glad to have been a part of the project. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 14:49, August 15, 2011 (UTC)
    • You're welcome Riff, and thanks very much for CAing the K26. If you want to contribute any more weapon articles, feel free to. I put a number of suggestions up on the barn-burner page, and according to your User Page, you have a number of sources at your disposal, including a number of RPG supplements which feature a plethora of unique weapons. I'm sure you could think of something interesting and fun to do. :) Kilson(Let's have a chat) 13:27, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
      • As much as I'd like to, I'm almost about to move out of my house to my new residence up north. I have some of my guides and books packed already, with some still here, but there won't be enough time to work on another article. I'm happy though that I got something out there. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 01:33, August 17, 2011 (UTC)

BC stuff[]

Hi Riffs :). I wondered if you could check your Wook associated email. Your input was requested on a thread almost a week ago ;). Cheers, Grunny (talk) 10:37, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

  • Dear Grunny. I did respond, unless it sent only to Chad or jSarek... -- Riffsyphon1024 10:41, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
    • Ah, yeah, maybe you didn't hit reply-all? I didn't get it anyway :(. Could you forward me your response if you have a moment? :) Cheers, Grunny (talk) 10:42, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
      • Sometimes I despise technology. I sent a message on Jul 24, but I did not in fact hit reply-all, and apparently the second email I sent acts as if I didn't send it at all.. You can now follow the complete conversation through my message now there. Sorry about that. -- Riffsyphon1024 10:49, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
        • No problem, I forget to do that all the time :P. Thanks! :) Grunny (talk) 10:52, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

List of planets[]

Hi Riffsyphon1024.

I started makeing the table for List of planets S and when you started to help I had an idea. Do you think that we should get everyone together to finish the table? --Ssi-ruuk general 05:58, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

  • It is something that needs to be completed. We have data on most of these planets now via the Essential Atlas Companion. It's just a monster to finish, and I suppose that is why no one has gotten to it by now. A small project to complete them would be nice, if anything to get small chunks of the tables done. The tables are also the reason we kept these list pages, versus most other lists. Rather than simply list the planets, the goal is to provide viewers with a sort of one-stop shop for key points of information on any planet. That being noted however, the articles themselves will provide much more detailed information. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:20, November 23, 2011 (UTC)
    • Ok. I'll keep at it until I finish it. Oh, and just so you know, even though the signature at the end of this is different to the first one I sent you, I'm still the same persone. I just changed my user name thats all.--Ssi-Ruuk Warrior 23:39, November 23, 2011 (UTC)

Is the article on Brodo Asogi, really meant to say "Puddle footed", what in 9 hells is puddle footed when it's at home.--Dkwolf27 07:42, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

  • My mistake. I guess I had thought that was a real description, that we had been using for some time. Seemed there are paddle-footed species out there. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:49, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Unidentified planet 24 (Dilonexa system)[]

"So—are you still worried about being sent to the Agricultural Corps?"
Unidentified planet 24 (Dilonexa system) has been approved by the AgriCorps and awarded Good status. Feel free to add the {{User GA}} template to your userpage to acknowledge your hard work. The AgriCorps thanks you for your efforts, and looks forward to future nominations from you! — 1358 (Talk) 20:29, December 15, 2011 (UTC)
  • Yes! Thanks a bunch guys! -- Riffsyphon1024 19:15, December 17, 2011 (UTC)

Episode I 3D poster.png

Just wanted to encourage everyone participating in December's barn-burner on Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace to keep up the hard work! Only two articles have been passed, but five are currently nominated, and I suspect numerous projects are underway. The month is over halfway through, so we need to hurry and finish as many articles as we can before the end of the month. Keep writing and keep reviewing! Also, don't forget about the current CT on Databank entries in the "Sources" section, as many articles will have to be updated to meet the new criteria. I thank all of you for taking part in this project and working to make the site better for the release of The Phantom Menace in 3-D in February, and I'm confident the results will be satisfactory. Anyway, just keep...doing what you're doing. :P MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 20:27, December 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yep, I'm about to submit at least one of the scalefish I'm working on. Maybe I shouldn't have taken on all seven?... -- Riffsyphon1024 05:32, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
    • Sorry, didn't realize you responded here. lol Well, the bb's been pushed back through January, so you still have another month to finish them. lol MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 22:38, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

Stae-Fahnti Koelbayr[]

Sorry about not getting the formatting right on the Stae-Fahnti Koelbayr article; I had to make a minor correction in my Google Plus post when I realized that Colbert has an honorary D.F.A. (doctorate of fine arts) from Knox College, not an honorary Ph.D. (He is listed in the show's end credits as "Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, D.F.A.," which is what I was mimicking when I came up with the name "Dr. Stae-Fahnti Koelbayr.")

I updated the page to reflect the correct the reference to an honorary D.F.A. rather than an honorary Ph.D., and I also changed the first sentence to remove the reference to Koelbayr as a doctor (i.e. physician). He's never identified as a physician in the Gem of Alderaan text, so this link was erroneous. As a comparison, look at the entry immediately preceding Koelbayr's: "Dr. Hakaen Bousch (old male Mon Calamari, physician)" is specifically identified as a physician to clarify the use of the title "Dr." in the text.

Sorry again for the format & style errors; I'm very new to wiki editing, and I appreciate you cleaning up my mess. :)

  • We all make whoopsies. Sorry again for the edit conflict. Thanks for bringing this new information to our knowledge. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 22:53, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Re:Moogans in TCW: Slaves of the Republic[]

I'm sorry for not responding sooner, Riff. I believe they were featured in the Slaves episode, and I'll have the info for you soon. :) JangFett (Talk) 23:39, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

  • It's a very minor appearance. Basically they are the "extra" character models present during the slave auction on Zygerria. That's about it. JangFett (Talk) 02:34, December 31, 2011 (UTC)

Link change[]

Hello, Riffsyphon1024. Following the pagemove of Dark Apprentice to Dark Apprentice (novel), I went through and attempted to change all links to Dark Apprentice to the new name. However, I was unable to change the link on your userpage because it is fully protected. As the Dark Apprentice title is now occupied by a character article, the link(s) on your userpage now most likely point to the wrong article. You may want to check your userpage and correct the link(s) if necessary. On behalf of my operator, Advanced Jedi Training Droid 6 (Talk to my master) 03:27, December 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • Dear AJTD6. The link has been fixed. Your mission is complete. -- Riffsyphon1024 00:52, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

BB extension[]

Just letting you know that the barn-burner has been extended through January due to a lack of activity during a busy December and the release of the film still being a month away. You can see discussion here. MasterFredCommerce Guild.svg(Whatever) 22:48, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yes I agree and I've voiced my detailed opinion on said page. -- Riffsyphon1024 01:48, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Riff, do you have a moment to check something in Inside the Worlds of Star Wars Trilogy for me? On the cantina cutaway two-page spread, are Leesub Sirln and Ownellco the Lutrillian visible just above the bar and near the Tonnika sisters? And if the two are present, does the book label them? I can only see the book on Amazon.com, and there, I can't see what's right near the spine. Thanks for your help! ~SavageBOB sig.png 04:19, January 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hey Bob. I'm in a weird situation right now. I have net access in town, but not at the house where I have the book. I'll get to the book tonight and get the info back to you as soon as possible. -- Riffsyphon1024 01:50, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • Hey Riff! I have a scan of the page handy, so I just e-mailed it to Bob. Hopefully that can save you a trip across town. Cheers! Menkooroo 01:55, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • That works too. Yay teamwork! -- Riffsyphon1024 02:23, January 4, 2012 (UTC)
        • Got it. Thanks, both of you! ~SavageBOB sig.png 03:23, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Riff, I was just wondering if you could tell me how to change my user avatar image, as it currently only comes up with the preset avatars --Kyr Kast JaingHead.svg If in need of my services, find me at the Oyu'baat cantina, Keldabe, Mandalore 01:54, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • Another thing, just to let you know, three anonymous users, User:, User: & User: are causing problems, the former is keeps adding unverified info to the Danar article and the latter two have been vandalising several articles, thanks. --Kyr Kast JaingHead.svg If in need of my services, find me at the Oyu'baat cantina, Keldabe, Mandalore 02:29, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Riff. I posted a message to Wookieepedia's Facebook page a day or two ago, requesting the posting of January 11th's QOTD, but got no response. Do you think it would be possible for you or one of the other admins with access to the page to make that happen? I assume the only reason it wasn't featured like the so many others was because everyone was busy that day. Thanks in advance. :D Bella'Mia 06:25, January 15, 2012 (UTC)

  • Hi Bella. I operate the page and generally add QOTD's as I see them, so not every QOTD makes it when it is featured, however I could go back and throw that one in after the most recent one fades out. -- Riffsyphon1024 02:05, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
    • Thanks a lot, Riff. I appreciate it. :) Bella'Mia 02:15, January 18, 2012 (UTC)

Do re mi[]

I have the adaptations if you need 'em checked. Menkooroo 01:33, January 18, 2012 (UTC)

  • I would appreciate that Menkooroo. -- Riffsyphon1024 02:03, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
    • OK! The manga adaptation doesn't depict any fish during the swim, nor during the Boomba ride. Ditto the regular ol' comic adaptation. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace PhotoComic does indeed depict Doos swimming outside of Otoh Gunga as Jar Jar and his escorts arrive at the underwater city. The novelization mentions no fish save for the big eaty ones, only describing coral as they drive the boonga through the planet core. There's nothing in the film's official souvenir magazine. I hope that helps! Menkooroo 03:39, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
      • I could grab you an image of the Doo, but it wouldn't be good enough for the infobox. Potentially elsewhere in the article. Menkooroo 03:40, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
        • At least we have one new source for doo. Thanks. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:46, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
          • And thanks for getting those toy links. Interesting renaming on the faa. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:33, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
            • Weirdly enough, the only two to not get made into toys are the two you currently have on the GAN page. Menkooroo 08:43, January 18, 2012 (UTC)
              • And Doo and Ray start off the rhyme too. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:45, January 18, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry to bug out on the request, but I have to go. I will certainly take care of this tomorrow if no one has by then. Toprawa and Ralltiir 08:39, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • Understandable. No hurry tonight. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:42, March 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • I took care of this. For future reference, archived forums can still be edited by anyone by accessing the edit button from the history page. :) —MJ— Holocomm Sunday, March 4, 2012, 16:55 UTC
      • That's why it threw me for a loop there. Thanks MJ. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:25, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

This is the stupidest April Fool's Joke ever! All these fanon pages are screwing up the wiki! You guys just should have made an Episode 7 page, or canonize the fan films. When will these edits be reverted!? 02:27, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

Not sure how to cite it, but it may be worth a mention...[]

January 8 of 2011, I had gone to a book signing for Red Harvest. I asked Joe Schreiber if he uses Wookieepedia, and he said that he has a shortcut to it on his desktop. I'd add that to the Wookieepedia Popular Acclaim section, but I haven't a way to cite it. I have a pic of me with Schreiber, so I can at the very least prove that I was there, but since I was getting books signed, and there was a big crowd, I wasn't really prepared to conduct a formal interview and write stuff down. Besides, my attention was immediately focused on glomping Zuckuss when I saw him meander to the front of the store. :P So, anyway, there's that bit of Schreiber. Not sure what you can do with it, but there it is. Trak Nar Ramble on 07:11, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

  • The same situation occurs with me when I talk to celebrities involved with Star Wars. We already know Dan Wallace is a Wookieepedia geek so that's a given, though in recent talks with artist Lee Kohse, he said that he uses the site for photo reference a lot and applauded me for helping him move up in the art world essentially. Additionally, I unveiled the Wookieepedia logo shirt at a Q&A session with Anthony Daniels, who considered me "expert" enough to sit at the front of the panel for half the show. I do have photos of that from another photographer... -- Riffsyphon1024 07:29, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
    • I should add, if we do interview them, and it results in text (such as the case with Jason Fry being interviewed by Eric Geller on Facebook and then posted to TFN), then we can cite it, but outside of that, perhaps photo or video evidence would be applicable enough? -- Riffsyphon1024 07:32, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
      • I don't see why not. Hell, I'll upload the Schreiber pic awhile. It can't hurt and if Schreiber needs a pic, I can crop mine. Trak Nar Ramble on 07:42, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
        • Nerdy Wookieepedian at a book signing GO! Trak Nar Ramble on 07:51, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
          • You look even nerdier than I imagined, but that's a good thing! :) -- Riffsyphon1024 08:46, April 28, 2012 (UTC)
            • One should expect no less from a 4-year Wookieepedia veteran. Regardless of gender. :P Trak Nar Ramble on 08:48, April 28, 2012 (UTC)
              • You're looking at a 7-year right here. ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 08:50, April 28, 2012 (UTC)
                • Also, talked to the person that took the pictures. They still want to retain their watermark, though it's at the bottom. I'm not certain how that will look in an article format..... -- Riffsyphon1024 08:50, April 28, 2012 (UTC)
    • (Since the continual shrinking of the lines was looking weird...) As long as it isn't this huge glaring blob that obscures some large chunk of the pic, having a mark in the corner or something shouldn't look too horrendous. I've uploaded stuff to SWFanon with my signature in the corner and it looks fine in article format. And as for the pics my dad took, he's okay with them being used, so long as he gets credit, which I made sure to add his name to the page. Not sure about the licensing, still, though... But, yeah, watermarks, as long as they're not this blatant and ugly badge that takes up about a quarter of the image, in article format, they tend to scale nicely. Trak Nar Ramble on 08:55, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

A Request for mediation[]

I am appealing to you to draw your attention to a matter on the administrators noticeboard. I have been unfairly blocked from my user account User: Darth Ceratis for reasons that are untrue and unfair, as I relate in my argument there, by one of your fellow Bureaucrats, user: Darth Culator. I presented my case in a very civil and professional manner, and I’m requesting that you mediate the conflict. Culator has protected the article so I can no longer post in it in any capacity, despite the fact that I have broken no rules of conduct. Additionally, he has extended my block from the maximum of one month (already uncalled for given the original issue) to an infinite one due to “Block evasion.” I have evaded my block only in order to appeal to have it removed, as I have not figured out any other way to do so. I’ve made no other edits than to attempt to plead my case on the admin notice board. I understand that it is generally the policy that administrators do not overrule one another’s decisions, but I firmly believe that Culator is abusing his power regarding his treatment of me, and I would like some neutral parties to involve themselves. 19:19, May 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Riff,

I've made a slight change to the voting options of the Presidency of Daala CT. Just letting everyone who's already cast a vote know. Cheers! Menkooroo 17:57, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Printed version of articles[]

Hello Riffsyphon. I seem to remember that, some tme ago, you intended to make a printed version of the C-3PO article as a gift for Anthony Daniels. Have you ever been able to get this project to work? Regards. --LelalMekha 11:58, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

  • I already printed off the article and handed it to Anthony Daniels in a clear folder in April. He seems to have enjoyed it. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 01:02, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
    • I really am curious. Have you taken pictures of it? --LelalMekha 10:39, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
      • I might have taken a picture of the document in the folder while I was there. Might have. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:19, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
        • I looked all over and couldn't find a picture. I usually photograph *everything*!!! :( -- Riffsyphon1024 05:20, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
          • So much the worse. ;-) In fact, I wanted to know if you had created a new layout—because an article certainly doesn't look as good if is directly copied from a website, does it? --LelalMekha (talk) 08:07, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
            • I printed directly from the site, but I made sure it was printer friendly so there was no side bar interaction. I had about 25 pages in total, front and back. It was in black and white, but the resolution was high so the text and images were very sharp and readable. I surmise that Mr. Daniels has enjoyed learning more about his character since he has been involved with it so much. -- Riffsyphon1024 09:01, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
              • In fact, I'll explain why I'm asking all this. I've been working hard on the Charal article lately, and I'm quite proud of it, even if it hasn't become a FA (yet?). The Battle for Endor allowed me to discover Siân Phillips when I was a child, and since then, I've taken interest in her televisual and theatrical career too. I don't known how I would do that, but I actually toyed with the idea of sending Phillips a "deluxe" edition of the Charal article, not because she has been involved with the character very much, but rather as a tribute—I don't even think she knowns someone ever wrote anything about that insignificant role in her career. --LelalMekha (talk) 09:13, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
                • The main point here is that you enjoyed her role and were passionate enough to work on this article as a fan. I am not sure how she might react to this, but then that would make two Britons to have received articles if successful. Btw, Welsh is Briton, right? -- Riffsyphon1024 09:54, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
                  • I know it *could* be considered offensive if she takes it in sheer Alec Guinness style. But I would actually write a full letter, taking the time to explain I actually know she has done many other (and more important) things, that I have seen 'em and enjoyed 'em. And yes, she's a citizen of the United Kingdom—though it should be noted that English was not her first language. --LelalMekha (talk) 10:02, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
                    • Heh, well that was Alec Guinness. He wouldn't accept Obi-Wan as his greatest role in a thousand years. ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 08:18, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

Greetings! You may already know, but Star Wars will be involved with Comic-Con this year. Wikia will have a physical presence at the 'Con once again, and we've created this badge:

Comiccon participantbadge.jpg

to remind users of this, and provide them with a link to Comic-Con Wiki. There, we will be updating live for the duration of the event with images, info, and exclusives for those users who are unable to be there in person. Would you be willing to allow this badge on the main page here (hopefully at the top of the right column) until the conclusion of the event? Please let me know either way so I can add it, or make a note that you've declined affiliation. You're welcome to add it yourself using the code above, but please drop me a note as well so I can track which wikis are participating. Thank you for your time! :)

  • With all due respect to Riff, I think this would be better suited for the Senate Hall. Since this is something that would affect all of Wookieepedia, it should be discussed by the entire community.—Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 01:38, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
Topic added. I can only message one admin on a wiki or it becomes "spam" - Riff was chosen because he is the b-crat who has been here the longest.

Right. I understand that, I was just pointing you to the best spot to post something like this.—Cal JediInfinite Empire.svg (Personal Comm Channel) 02:13, July 6, 2012 (UTC)
  • I do appreciate the acknowledgment XD1, but Cal is right. If you are able to post to the Senate Hall, please do so there, so as the entire community can make a judgment on participation of this. I'm not even sure how many of our users will be attending this con, and we have been working to get users to Celebration VI: the official Star Wars convention this year. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:18, July 6, 2012 (UTC)

No, sorry, I wiped the appearances section clean when I started going through the book page by page. I was at like page 52 - I'll finish it later this week. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit.svg 17:11, October 17, 2012 (UTC)

  • Cade. You can't remove what someone else has added. That took me an hour to work on.. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:36, October 18, 2012 (UTC)
    • I'm sorry, Riff, it was actually me edit-conflicting you. All I overwrote was the appearances section from before the book was released, but I do understand your point. Thanks for the advice. Cade Calrayn StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit.svg 15:13, October 18, 2012 (UTC)

Would you mind sharing exactly where on StarWars.com you found this image? I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I like to keep a record of all the image I can from SW.com in their original form because who knows when they'll change things up again and we'll lose everything there again. - JMAS Jolly Trooper.png Hey, it's me! 22:29, November 25, 2012 (UTC)

  • Snarf. *facepalm* Okay, so here's the situation with this image. It came as a post from the Facebook page for Star Wars: The Clone Wars and after I posted it, I was hoping to cross-reference on the Clone Wars portion of StarWars.com as I usually would. However, I cannot find it on the actual site, and I looked within their screenshots and concept art. Yet, the information contained within clearly came from something official if that page was the one to release it.. or so I thought. So I am still looking for the place it appears there, if ever. Otherwise I'm unsure how we would cite something posted on Facebook. Here is the link to the Facebook post, pending you have access. I should have been more stringent on myself. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:32, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
    • Hey, Riff. A recent template that was cooked up by the wizards is {{FacebookCite}}. Enjoy! Menkooroo (talk) 08:11, November 26, 2012 (UTC)
      • That is a relief. As long as this is properly cited with this template, then we're cool? -- Riffsyphon1024 23:43, November 27, 2012 (UTC)

100, 000! Huzzah![]

Holy crap --- 100,000 articles. Your baby is all grown up. :D Riff! I want to write some kind of Wookieepedia NewsNet post reflecting on the history of Wookieepedia and how we got to this point. Would I be able to ask you some questions about its founding and early days? Let me know. I could ask them here, or via e-mail. I'd most likely write the post similarly to this one rather than as a straight question-and-answer one like the WOTM interviews.

I'd also like to talk to some other Wookieepedians who were really active back in the Wook's early days, like jSarek, Fourdot, and WhiteBoy. Do you have any essential names you think should be added to that list? Would WhiteBoy's talk page still be the best way to get in touch with him? Aaaaaaand any idea how to get in contact with Fourdot? :P Thanks! Menkooroo (talk) 02:55, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hey Menkooroo. So firstly I do accept your request for interview. I have been doing my best to keep record of everything Wookieepedia on our wiki article. I think I can answer the questions here for record. In regards to finding others, jSarek is still quite active and I do converse with him regularly on Facebook for example. 4Dot is another situation as I haven't heard a peep from him in years. Chad (WhiteBoy) started the project off but left it to us to focus on other things. I think I may still be connected to him, but otherwise hit up his wall. I'd also look into communicating with LtNOWIS (active up to the end of 2012), Darth Culator (still active), SFH (active since August 2005), and Grunny (active since the end of 2005/beginning of 2006), just to name a few. I've been charting all admins and WOTMs out on a timeline template, though for the moment it's broken. I may have stuck too many in there... -- Riffsyphon1024 03:53, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
    • Small update: I got the timeline to display again: User:Riffsyphon1024/Temp2 -- Riffsyphon1024 04:17, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
      • Thanks for the info. I've been a fan of your temp pages for a long time; in fact, quite a few of my Legacy GAs have come from browsing through your character list. :D I'll try to get in touch with Hav, Hydro, StarNeptune, Eyre, Quentin, and Cull, too. Let's see how many of the old farts we can get back. Menkooroo (talk) 14:34, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
  • OK! Here are four questions. They call for pretty anecdotal responses, so feel free to answer them in as many words as you'd like. Thanks again. I'll be asking similar questions to WhiteBoy (pending his agreement) and also asking for the thoughts of a big list of other people. Menkooroo (talk) 15:08, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
  • 1. Can you describe the events that led to Wookieepedia's founding? What role did you play in it?
Wookieepedia, then the Star Wars Wiki, came to be partly due to my inclusionism for Star Wars articles to exist on Wikipedia. At the time, and perhaps still today, minutiae like Order D6-66 would be rendered "fancruft" of a fictional universe and not allowed on an otherwise comprehensive encyclopedia project. When I started on Wikipedia in January of 2005, I worked on a variety of articles, on things from my hometown in Tennessee, geography, geology (due to my field), transportation, popular culture, rock albums, and science fiction, which included Star Wars. I was so proud of articles I started like repulsorlift and World Devastator. I even had some articles on planets and thought that Wikipedia was a great place to expand on them, thanks to material I gleaned from Daniel Wallace's The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons. That's when I realized that there were so many planets, and maybe not all were of considerable notability, that these articles became merged into giant bloated lists; see List of Star Wars planets (and its adjacent articles now broken into pieces). The same can be said of minor characters, creatures, weapons, and vehicles. Today, one will note that all these now link to Wookieepedia's much more comprehensive categories.
Because of the issues at the time and the understanding that George Lucas' universe was much bigger than we could imagine, I jumped on the talk page for the Star Wars article on January 21, 2005 and commented on an post that postulated that there should be a Wiki Portal for Star Wars. It should be noted an anonymous user was the first to use the term "Star Wars Wiki", and in August 2004, the user Kevyn who had performed the merging of articles also chimed in to support. I then posted that the project should definitely be a wiki and not a wiki portal (after seeing the Halo Wiki) with the reasoning that the Star Wars universe was "even more huge and complex". I even noted it could be the rival to The Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia. I'm sure Bob Vitas will love that. ;) Two days later, Chad Barbry (under the name Cbarbry) posted a genius response, "So we'd call it Wookiepedia [sic]?", and the modern concept of Wookieepedia was born. I also humorously suggested "Wicketpedia" as an alternate name but I can only imagine if that had been the name today. From there, Chad and I focused on how to turn this project into a real space that was separate from Wikipedia. Simultaneously, a new problem was occurring on Wikipedia, with users placing small Star Wars articles up for deletion. Chad and I attempted to save as many as possible before getting the project up. We located an existing URL titled StarWarsWiki.org that had only be up for less than a month, however it was poorly assembled and appeared inactive. By March 4, 2005, Angela of the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation stepped in and recommended space at Wikicities (now Wikia) that would be beneficial to our ever-growing idea and receive support from Wikimedia tech. What material had been salvaged from the "Great LucasCruft Purge" was moved to the new wiki, giving us some of the first articles, such as Brianna.
Chad presented two ideas for this new space, 1) that we would leave the primary articles (like Luke Skywalker) on Wikipedia and that the "Star Wars WikiCity" or "SWW" would become the "trade magazine" that contained all the minor tidbits moved from Wikipedia, and 2) that there should be some interwiki link between the two projects. Angela had highly recommended that we leave Wikipedia articles alone if they were notable enough and build on them at the new wiki. Eventually the concepts of transwikification fell out of popularity, and we began to populate this new space with copies of Wikipedia articles and our own articles. Over time, all the Wikipedia articles became rewritten in the in-universe format presented by our Manual of Style.
  • 2. What were the early days of the Wook like? Is it hard to believe that it's eight years and 100,000 articles later?
The early days of the Star Wars Wiki consisted of several face lifts to our logo, the official name change to Wookieepedia, cleaning up of the copied Wikipedia text in favor of original writing, restructuring of defunct or unneeded policies due to the move, the addition of many images with which to beautify our articles, and the notification of thousands of fans to come into the project and help out. Through Wikipedia and websites like TheForce.Net, our number of contributors grew exponentially in the spring and summer of 2005. The release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith further compounded viral interest in the film universe and the Expanded Universe. Assistance from users like (but not limited to) jSarek, Xwing328, Jaymach, SparqMan, StarNeptune, Aidje, Grunny, Toprawa and Ralltiir, Darth Culator, Borsk Fey'lya and many many others was integral to the structuring, and especially coding, of the early wiki's components.
Over the last few years, the wiki has brought us new features like the Knowledge Bank and Barn-Burners, contests like Mister and Miss Star Wars, new user-created projects (like 4dot's Wookiee-Cast I fondly remember), and a new class of Comprehensive Articles that we now review. Editors have expanded our reach to the world outside the wiki, with forays in social media and blogs. As a community, we've had our ups and downs, but managed to work through these fluctuations. Running a community and getting along with other contributors can be a new experience for many users. We are not perfect, but we can strive to get close. Through tested protocols and procedures, we have held to a standard of article appearance and quality, nomination and reduction of held positions, and a fair process to deal with disruptions.
I look back with a sense of fulfilled accomplishment that we have existed this long and become this large. Yes, we may have reached 100,000 articles, yet numbers alone do not make a quality wiki. The experience of a wiki's users and administrators make sure that it produces something that people will return to time and time again. We may still fall short of other projects like the Marvel Encyclopedia Database due to a seemingly never ending production of content in those areas, but for this universe, for Star Wars, I can say that we are doing quite well. Is there ever a high point to this? I'm not sure. We can only strive to continue to better ourselves. As the logo suggests, Wookieepedia is fully-operational, but a constant work-in-progress.
  • 3. Has the site gone in directions you never imagined it would? What's surprised you the most?
Wookieepedia has continued to amaze me in its impact of popular culture. I've done my best to keep track of its mention in news articles, books and magazines, radio programs, and even game shows. It has gone beyond a simple project for the means of preserving information to a resource that many thousands, if not tens of thousands of people, access every day. The result of 100,000 articles in the span of 8 years is evidence of the dedication fans bring to the wiki. For Wookieepedia to become a self-sustainable entity that will always have someone to watch over it has become the greatest thrill.
Our appearances at Celebration IV and Celebration VI were welcome by those in the Star Wars community, especially that of Mary Franklin who helped us with a table at the 2007 convention. Not only have we become fans of those at Lucasfilm Ltd., but many of the people that have done work as authors, artists, or even holocron keepers have been very supportive of our project, and even consider themselves fans.
I can say that I am most taken aback by the acceptance of LFL and StarWars.com to link to our wiki in their own encyclopedia and recognize us as a major resource. It is understandable that no project will be as exhaustive and comprehensive as ours, constantly updated by many editors. Where some projects on the internet remain relatively static, and there is nothing wrong with those alternative projects, we can act as that living, breathing resource that all can use and update. I always encourage people not to consider us a primary resource though, since it is the books, games, television episodes, comics and other amazing content that allow us to do what we do. I highly encourage people to purchase the media, the real primary sources, from which we derive our articles. We exist as that door to the greater world that was created, and I hope that we haven't stepped on too many toes throughout our existence. I do wonder though if the creator himself has perused the pages of this fair wiki.
  • 4. Today, what role do you think Wookieepedia plays in the broader Star Wars community? Is it a role of which you're proud?
Wookieepedia stands as a place for all fans to come together and explore another piece of the universe which George Lucas and others have created. Whether it be for research in writing a new novel, reference for costuming or cosplaying, immersing oneself into a Role Playing Game, inspiring a teenager to get into science, biology, or astronomy, or even finding that right quote to impress your friends, Wookieepedia covers many purposes. I've been told by people that have visited or edited on the site that Wookieepedia was a great addition (sometimes addiction) in their lives, and I do receive congratulations for that. I am very proud of the project and where it stands today. I only hope that we can keep going, and that I can continue to contribute even as I am maturing in life and doing adult things. I do hope that over the next decade with the release of the sequel trilogy and other content, that the wiki can continue to blossom in new ways. To those that are curious in becoming a part of something larger, I encourage you to BE BOLD and make that first edit. Together, people can create wonderful things. To close, I paraphrase Wikipedia founder, Jimmy Wales, of whom I hold the deepest gratitude for starting a wave of collaborative content on the internet, in that we wish to be the "sum of all human knowledge" in regards to our focus, that being a galaxy, far, far, away. -- Riffsyphon1024 20:11, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Making a better "Timeline of media" revisited[]

Hi Riffsyphon1024, I recently picked up where Morbus Iff left off a while ago on the Timeline of media revamp discussed here, to which you contributed. I'd appreciate your opinion on the near-finished project: User:Tainb'ocu'chulainn/Sandbox Timeline. The forum for the discussion is Forum:SH:Making a better Timeline of media: revisited. Thanks. Tainb'ocu'chulainn (talk) 20:29, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

  • I added to the conversation, yes, but only to offer my support of the redesign. I don't know where I'll be able to add anything in regards to this. Your page appears well made and thorough, but I wouldn't begin to think about specific dates. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:50, February 13, 2013 (UTC)
    • I'm just fishing around for input on the look and functionality of the page, not the content, which is lifted directly from the current Timeline of media. If you don't have any suggestions to add, that's fine. Thanks for the reply. Tainb'ocu'chulainn (talk) 13:56, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

Nabooian Elders in "New Essential Guide to Alien Species"[]

Hello Riffsyphon. It seems that you own a copy of The New Essential Guide to Alien Species, and I'd like to ask you if you could check something in that book for me. I'm currently working on the article pertaining to the Nabooian Elders, and it seems that book mentions about the Gungans driving them off Naboo around 100 BBY. Your help here would be much appreciated. :-) Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 18:06, March 2, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hey, Riff. That's me again. I certainly do not wish to bother you, but you may have missed my message, so I only wanted to give you a little reminder just in case. I'm having trouble finding someone who owns that book, so it would be really helpful if you had the solution. Regards. --LelalMekha (talk) 00:42, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Wikia Star Wars Question[]

Hi, there! We're working on a Star Wars content initiative here at Wikia that I thought you might be interested in participating in. It involves video, so I'm wondering if we could setup quick Skype video chat, Google+ Hangout, Facetime, or something of that sort to discuss?

Would you mind replying on my talk page or shooting me an email at brian@wikia-inc.com? Thanks!

AFD article protection[]

Whoops, I saw only the anon edit to the AFD Episode VII article and went straight for the full lock before I saw your reaction of semi-protection. If you'd rather restore it to semi, I'm fine with that. Don't want you to feel that I'm stepping on your toes. —MJ— Training Room 04:11, April 3, 2013 (UTC)

  • Oh it's alright. If you felt it was going to serve things better, by all means adjust it. Besides, I think the retaliation will have worn off by now. ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 00:37, April 4, 2013 (UTC)

Underpopulated categories[]

In my...travels through Wookieepedia, I found this on a category, Category: Skiffs, to be precise. You placed it there way back in '06, and I was wondering: 1. is the template still needed on the Skiffs category, or can I remove it, and 2. what would be a good range of pages for a category to be under the "popcat" template, or do even need it? Trip391 (talk) 06:50, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

  • We still need Popcat for categories with 1-10 where we know there are more to be added, granted this was most helpful during growth from the early days. I'd say more than 10, you could probably remove the popcat template. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:58, July 14, 2013 (UTC)
    • That's what I was thinking. I'll go through them tomorrow/later. Trip391 (talk) 09:23, July 14, 2013 (UTC)

Planet template[]

Hey Riff. Could you kindly have a look at this? It's been sitting around for a while. Cheers. Stake black msg 13:59, December 4, 2013 (UTC)

  • Is recategorization of the template simply the issue or the infobox update based on one planet (Abafar)? Are there more examples of planets that have elevation data and area given? -- Riffsyphon1024 19:07, December 4, 2013 (UTC)
    • Both. Regarding the infobox update, I can't think of another example beyond Abafar, really. Stake black msg 19:55, December 4, 2013 (UTC)

Reference article[]

Hi there,

Can you please protect and verify my reference article Lost Tribe of the Sith/Email from John Jackson Miller, which records an email conversation between me and John Jackson Miller? This is something that needs an admin and I think you would be best to deal with it. Andykatib 08:08, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

  • Well, I could perhaps ask him directly if he did this. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:11, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
    • Oh, I put it in this format because I wasn't able to scan it as a jpg image since it was more than two pages. What do you think? Andykatib 08:18, 26 January 2014 (UTC
      • Couldn't break it up into two screen captures and then stitch them? -- Riffsyphon1024 08:33, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
        • I'm not very tech savvy in that area but I could email it to you if you know how to do it. Are you alright with this? Andykatib 08:37, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
          • You can go ahead, though I may not be able to check it tonight. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:40, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
          • What's your email? I will be able to forward it to you. Andykatib 08:46, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
            • Don't worry, I think I can just email Mr Miller and ask for his permission. I have corresponded with him quite a lot and he should be allright with it. If not, I'll forward you the email message.Andykatib 08:18, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
            • I just got back from Mr Miller. He says that we have permission to post the reference article provided we do not show his email address to avoid spam bots. So, it's all resolved. Andykatib 23:00, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
              • I understand his concern about spam bots. I was hesitant to post mine as is here. You can find it whited out in plain text at the bottom of my user page. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:52, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

I never got around to it. Sorry for wasting your time. Thanks for the heads-up about the fate of NewsNet, though. However, I won't be contributing anymore. Menkooroo (talk) 14:44, February 1, 2014 (UTC)

  • I'm sorry to hear that you can't continue on NewsNet. It wasn't a waste of time if we can still use the interview. -- Riffsyphon1024 23:09, February 1, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Riff; sorry about the wait there. I've responded on the GAN page. Cheers, Sir Cavalier of OneFarStar.svg(Squadron channel) 18:52, March 4, 2014 (UTC)

Hello Riff! Since I managed to make a copy of Star Wars Episode I: The Gungan Frontier work on my computer, I thought you'd be interested to see those two screencaps: the first one is about the daggert fishes themselves, and the second one is about Todd Daggert, who worked on the game. I don't know whether there's a link between the species' name and the developper, but I still wanted to show it to you. Cheers! --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol.svg (Audience Room) 13:23, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

  • That is interesting. I'm not sure I can tie the two together without another source confirming it. But there is new information regarding the fish and that is always helpful. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:24, March 10, 2014 (UTC)

Que-Mars Redath-Gom[]

Hello, I'm quite sure that you have access to the The New Essential Guide to Alien Species and wondered if you could give me the info about Que-Mars Redath-Gom that is in there? Cheers. Clone Commander Lee Talk 14:10, March 12, 2014 (UTC)

  • From The New Essential Guide to Alien Species page 177 in "Weequay":
"Other Weequay Jedi played an important part during the Clone Wars. Que-Mars Redath-Gom served faithfully during the final years of the Galactic Republic. He was killed in the Battle of Geonosis in the Petranaki Arena."
    That is all. -- Riffsyphon1024 09:07, March 13, 2014 (UTC)
  • Quite interesting. Currently, a lot of stuff in the article is sourced to the guide, but it seems that all this is fanon or mentioned in the Prequel Chronicles. Thank you for your contribution. :) Clone Commander Lee Talk 11:15, March 13, 2014 (UTC)

Its "mee" again :-)[]

Hey Riff. While re-reading Episode I Adventures 9: Rescue in the Core, I stumbled upon this sentence: "They were followed by an albino dianoga, three broadtailed fanbacks, and a school of jumbo daggerts. All were rare aquatic life-forms. Jar Jar blinked in disbelief, then asked aloud, “How come all dese rarity aquabeasts are outta dare bubbles?”" This implies that therer existed a rarer subspecies of jumbo-sized mees. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol.svg (Audience Room) 22:21, March 19, 2014 (UTC)

  • Oh, and another thing: I have confirmation that the Daggert fish was named after Todd Daggert. I just asked Terryl Whitlatch. ;-) --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol.svg (Audience Room) 23:30, March 19, 2014 (UTC)
    • Thank you, Lelal. I have more to write. ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 02:28, March 20, 2014 (UTC)
      • Unfortunately the Facebook link you gave is inaccessible; perhaps only you can see it. -- Riffsyphon1024 17:18, March 22, 2014 (UTC)
      • Ach! That's because I'm FB friends with Whitlatch, I guess. What can we do? --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol.svg (Audience Room) 17:26, March 22, 2014 (UTC)
        • Screen cap the post and edit out personal information, then with permission by Terryl upload to Wookieepedia. -- Riffsyphon1024 18:12, March 22, 2014 (UTC)
          • Don't mean to be in a rush, but now would be a good time to grab that screenshot, so that the article can be properly cited. Thank you. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:22, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

To "merge" means to create one article from two articles that contained overlapping material. Hope this helps. -- Riffsyphon1024 12:59, March 28, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, Riff. Just letting you know that Rule 6 of the Official Friends removal process states that the vote still needs to run its course per WP:CON even though the link has been removed from the Main Page. In other words, it still needs to receive at least 10 contributing votes to meet consensus and remain open for at least a week. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 05:54, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

The intent of Rule 6 was to allow obviously unhelpful pages (link farms, cybersquatters, etc.) to be removed while voting was in progress, not to prematurely end the vote. In other words, the page may have been removed, but it is still necessary to obtain a formal consensus to make the removal "stick". Therefore I believe the nomination should be unarchived and allowed to run its normal course. Please consider doing so.

I am sorry about that. I just now saw this. I will see to restoring the vote. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:21, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
Completed. And please remind DC to not remove the link from the Main Page until the vote has run its course. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:25, April 9, 2014 (UTC)
Er, no, per the intent of rule 6, as MJ already tried to explain, the link gets removed while the vote runs, then stays removed if the vote is in favor of removal. In the unlikely event the offending site fixes its issues, then it can be restored, but I don't see that happening. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 12:37, April 9, 2014 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the re-welcome! It's really, really good to be back. And yeah, I'm definitely good with helping out in any way I can. Just keep me posted on anything I can do (I'll keep watching the page, too). JorrelWiki-shrinkable.pngFraajic 01:28, April 14, 2014 (UTC)

Serbian Wookieepedia[]

Hi, I need some help. I am editing Wookieepedia in Serbian and it seems that it is not completed. You see, there is absence of all options and by that I speaking of templates, infoboxes, opening crawls...i cannot add external links, appearances and all other stuff You can or editors in other languages. I tried all tutorials or guidelines there is and it won't work. I also contacted Wiki and they recommended You, so I am pleading for assistance. Can anyone check it out? I did almost 900 pages and they look pathetic. I am not replicating no one, i just want pages to look decent and nice. Can You help?--Edenbeast666 (talk) 18:13, April 18, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hello Eden. I appreciate that someone pointed towards me in regards to this, however you may want to talk to our tech guy, Grunny for possible assistance, at least with coding or other troubleshooting. I believe templates can be copied between wikis per the CC-SA agreement though. For all other general wiki editing information, I would recommend reading this Wikipedia page, which is almost identical in nature to our wiki markup on Wikia, save for special features. Hope this helps. -- Riffsyphon1024 02:28, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Thank You for answer and directions, I'll do as You suggested. Again big thanks.--Edenbeast666 (talk) 15:51, April 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, Riff. I nominated you for WOTM, but it seems to have backfired into causing some snarky users to make some immature comments about you. So I'd like to apologize for causing the situation to happen, and to let you know that I, if nobody else, was fully behind your reversion of Culator's main page edit last month. Thanks for looking out for the site's best interests when few others were, and sorry again for creating a situation where certain users feel the need to childishly bash you. Menkooroo (talk) 02:41, May 3, 2014 (UTC)

  • Well that sounds fun. -- Riffsyphon1024 02:33, May 5, 2014 (UTC)

"So—are you still worried about being sent to the Agricultural Corps?"
Mee has been approved by the AgriCorps and awarded Good status. Feel free to add the {{User GA}} template to your userpage to acknowledge your hard work. The AgriCorps thanks you for your efforts, and looks forward to future nominations from you! — Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:27, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Legends and Canon[]

Hey Riff, I just wanted to let you know that with articles from TCW, we should have both a Legends and a Canon article, since TCW is actually considered both Canon and Legends. So while Jogan fruit would be the Legends version of the article, there would also be a Canon version at Jogan fruit, if you know what I mean Trip391 (talk) 08:34, August 5, 2014 (UTC)

  • I'm already confused. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:23, August 5, 2014 (UTC)
    • Since TCW is both canon and Legends, then stuff from TCW—like Jogan fruit—get a Canon page and a Legends page. The tags don't get converted. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:25, August 5, 2014 (UTC)
      • All I can continue to mutter is ugh. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:27, August 5, 2014 (UTC)
  • After the Canon/Legends decision, everything from Legends sources should go in Legends articles, and anything from Canon sources should be in Canon articles. If there is information on something that already exists in Legends sources and it also appears in Canon sources, like barium in A New Dawn, the information should then be placed into a Canon article on the topic instead of a Legends article since A New Dawn is a Canon source. Anything new from Canon sources would simply be placed in a Canon article. Trip391 (talk) 03:04, September 11, 2014 (UTC)
  • I'm trying my best, Trip. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:54, September 11, 2014 (UTC)

Manning the Wookieepedia table at Celebration Anaheim[]

Hello. This message is to inform you of new developments regarding Wookieepedia's presence at Celebration Anaheim this upcoming April. Since you had previously expressed interest in attending and manning a table if we got one, I'm passing this along to you so you're aware what's going on and can provide feedback if need be. Please check out the discussion here. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:42, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

J-type 327 Nubian royal starship/Canon[]

Hi Riff. I added {{Referenceless}} to J-type 327 Nubian royal starship/Canon as the page is largely devoid of references. Please be sure to add them so the template can be removed. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 07:46, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

  • It's a challenge determining what information goes to canon sources, as I've found that information in the defunct Databank is even used to cite now Legends material. It's likely I just need to remove all those referenceless sentences as they truly are non-canon now. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:49, December 31, 2014 (UTC)
    • Yes, please remove anything from the old Databank, as that is not a canon source, as well as anything you don't know the source for. Additionally, though I don't think I should need to remind you of this, you shouldn't be adding information to a canon page if you are unsure of that information's canonicity. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 07:57, December 31, 2014 (UTC)
      • Yes, obvious obviousness is obvious. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:09, December 31, 2014 (UTC)
        • Brandon, I was editing that article down to canon level when you decidedly blanked it. It is seriously that short of a stub now based on canon information? -- Riffsyphon1024 08:53, December 31, 2014 (UTC)
          • First, if you'd like to call me out for edit conflicting you, please do so here on Wookieepedia first, rather than posting irrelevant comments on my Facebook status. That being said, the reason I went ahead and edited the page was because of how extensive the issues were. It wasn't just a matter of there being Legends info in there, though that was an issue. You also copy/pasted from the Legends page, which we don't do. So to your question, is that all of the information there is now? I have no idea—the problem is that you don't either, yet you went ahead and added a great deal of information, much of it non-canon and copy/pasted, anyway. The entire article needs to be rewritten. I can assume good faith, as I know these mistakes aren't made with ill-intent, but these are mistakes you should know not to make at this point. As you said, obvious obviousness is obvious. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 08:57, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

Filling in canon redlinks[]

Hi. As someone who has been involved in recent Senate Hall discussions about a Canon/Legends default change, I wanted to draw your attention to this thread and invite you to participate in our efforts to fill in as many /Canon redlinks as possible. Hope to see you join in! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:53, March 1, 2015 (UTC)

  • Yes, I intend to get back to this and do so properly. Thank you for the notification. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:24, March 3, 2015 (UTC)

The New Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology question[]

Hey Riff, I was wondering/hoping you would be able to check this book and see if it identifies the Phase 1 clone trooper armor as such? I'd really appreciate it, thanks! Manoof (talk) 08:21, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

  • Ignore this, Trip just helped out :) Manoof (talk) 08:40, April 9, 2015 (UTC)
    • Okey. Glad Trip was able to. -- Riffsyphon1024 22:42, April 12, 2015 (UTC)

Watcher Three[]

Hey, Riff. The Watcher Three page is listed as a disambiguation, but both links contain the same pages - one with all the information and the other as nothing more than a redirect to the same page. If I merge all the main info to the Watcher Three page, could you delete the other two? ShatterClub|Talk to me, internet 17:31, April 15, 2015 (UTC)

Ezra's Rebel Journal[]

Hey Riff. The book lists Daniel Wallace as the out of universe author on the last page. Ayrehead02 (talk) 09:51, April 27, 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks. That is consistent with his authorship of Sabine's Rebel Sketchbook. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:46, April 28, 2015 (UTC)

Canon articles[]

This is unacceptable unless you do as the AbuseFilter warning told you when you made the edit, and change the links to the Legends article. Cade StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit.svg Calrayn 03:52, December 20, 2015 (UTC)

  • Apologies, Cade. I was attempting to make all links from Girondium (Canon) to canon articles, including another substance that links from that page, but is currently in Legends format. I will look at it again. Thank you for understanding. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:45, December 20, 2015 (UTC)
    • Huh? The links to girondium that were pointing to the Legends article before its move to /Legends are now point at the NuCanon article, and need to be changed to point to Girondium/Legends. Cade StupidRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit.svg Calrayn 04:49, December 20, 2015 (UTC)
      • The links on the other pages have been corrected. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:58, December 20, 2015 (UTC)

Riot control stormtrooper image[]

I'd be perfectly okay with using that image for the Riot control stormtrooper if the text was removed, but I'm pretty sure that those descriptions make the image out-of-universe, don't you think? I'd remove them myself, but I'm not very skilled at image manipulation and so even if I removed the text, it'd still be stuck with those lines obscuring the leg and shoulder / shield. ProfessorTofty (talk) 06:20, January 5, 2016 (UTC)

  • You're right. Can we find this image without annotations then? I still believe we should keep the screenshot as the primary image for the film character. -- Riffsyphon1024 07:36, January 5, 2016 (UTC)
    • JMAS took care of it for us. ProfessorTofty (talk) 22:39, January 6, 2016 (UTC)
