Thanks for the welcome, man. It's been rough starting here because I'm a halo fan and star wars the way how do you put user infoboxes on a userpage? I mean those things that Say "This User likes Mandalorains" and stuff? Thanks again.

I posted a question earlier, but accidentaly solved it myself. Thanks anyways.

how do i get awards?Clone Commander Cody 01:13, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Cody: this is not a legitimate question. People get rewarded for things they do on the wiki that actually help the wiki, not simply get awarded for some mediocre reason like being someone's friend (though I've seen some of this happening as well). SFH would say the same. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:32, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

User template usage question

Hey there. I noticed you deleted the userpage for Soviet*Union that I just put the user template on. (My apologies, I was browsing wanted pages and didn't think to check if the person had been a vandal.) Anyway, I realize that the goal here is denial of recognition. Now, I won't argue that the user template seems like less recognition to me than an annoying redlink. However, I do want to say that I think the username showing up in Special:Wantedpages is recognition too. I'd have never visited that person's userpage if it hadn't shown up there. Is the solution to this that we should delete the links to the pages or are we just supposed to put up with them being there? That seems like at least (somewhat) furthering the cause of vandals... long after they are gone they are still an annoyance. And is there actually a policy yet about not putting the user template on their pages or is it just something that has been suggested that I can still argue against? :) Wildyoda 20:26, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

  • One of the reasons that Culator originally deleted Template:User was because it was on a serial vandal's userpage. I just didn't want to risk getting it deleted again. -- SFH 20:29, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Those Irritating Gaps

Force Drain

Greetings SFH,

Since you were the one who protected the Force Drain page in first place, and started the discussion on the Force Drain talk page, do you think you could read the arguments and post your own opinions on this matter? The dispute between myself and User:(- -) seems to be just going around in circles, so perhaps some fresh opinions might be helpful. Of course, I believe I make some valid points (especially my latest point that adding a "non canon" label to the image would likely violate OOU), but anyway, I thought that as an admin you could step in and add your thoughts. Also, I tried to contact Darth Culator (since he removed user:(- -)'s "non canon" label from the article last night), but his talk page seems to be protected. Perhaps you could find out if Culator has any thoughts on this as well? 00:09, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Old image revision

Darth Vatrir seems to have his knickers in a twist because I replaced his upload of Image:LvV.jpg with a high def screenshot of the same image, and because of that, he reuploaded a lower res and quality version. Could you be so kind as to delete the old revisions of the image? Thanks. - JMAS 18:37, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I would first like to compare the images, but the old images won't upload. -- SFH 18:53, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Adding an image

I am trying to add an image to the Roron Corobb Article. It won't work. Can you help me? -ck94

  • I can't see a clear problem with why you can't upload. -- SFH 14:33, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

How do you upload? I just right clicked the image, put the file name shown on "Properties", put the pixel size, and it still won't show.

  • There is a section under the search box where it says "upload file". This should allow you to upload the file onto Wookieepedia. But if I may make a suggestion: Don't add another image to Roron Corobb's article. The article is rather small, and another image would just make an unsightly gap. -- SFH 14:43, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I won't. Thank you for the help. Should I add it to the gallery of lightsaber duels? After you upload the file, how do you add it to an article or gallery?

Flight groups

Flight groups typically were 3-4 fighters, but in TIE Fighter the flight officer specifically says to the player on more than one occassion "You will fly [fighter] Alpha 1, you will be the only craft in your Flight group." Thus it must be said that Flight groups are 1-6, since i do not recall a group of larger than six. I use the TIE Fighter mission editor for faster skimming over the game, if I find an error in my previous statement, I will fix it.--MIS Tau 1 03:57, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

My Question. Please reply.

Hi, I'm King Nicholas. I've been wanting to make my own User-Page here on Wookiepedia, but I don't know how.

Since I've seen you're quite a helpful person, I figured I should ask. How do I make my User-Page without causing any trouble for anybody?

  • At the top right of your page, you should see your username in red. Go there, and begin writting. But be sure to conform to our userpage policy, and please don't spend too much time editing it. We get that a lot here. -- SFH 23:43, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that anon's vandalism on Anakin Skywalker's article. I would, but I can't figure out how. -Milo Fett[Comlink] 22:37, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Each page has a history section. Go there, pick the version that was present before the vandalism occured, edit and save, allowing the removal of instant vandalism. -- SFH 22:59, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

You haven't done anything here to warrant a block, but the first uncivil word and you are gone. Is that understood? -- SFH 04:02, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Go ahead and block him SFH. Assaulthead is blocked anyway and there is nothing to really edit in this Wiki except talkpages and grammar. Also delete Assaultheads userpages and talkpages because those pages are used for spam.( 21:18, 20 December 2007 (UTC))

Hi, Thanks for the Welcome (Gracias)

I appreciate your welcome, I have been following Star Wars Wiki since the beginning of this year, I have this page as my homepage, and I think that this Wiki is the most complete Star Wars information source in the WEB, but do you know?
My native language is the Spanish, and my primary work is here Star Wars Wiki in Spanish, we here are so much incomplete, but we are working and having fun.
What do you think about?
I'll primary be updating links to the Wiki spanish pages

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the welcome message (by the way, is it a template thing or automated?). I'll mostly be around cleaning little stuff up, since much of what I know about Star Wars seems to be already filled in. Thanks again! Yodaonthestreet 04:21, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

Spirit transference

Hello, have you seen talk:Spirit transference#Metempsychosis? recently? You asked if the power had a canon name, and as I recently mentioned in the disscussion, it seems that the Star Wars Roleplaying game refers to Spirit Transference as Transfer essence. Unless I'm mistaken, the roleplaying game is canon, so Transfer essence is the most canon name we have for it. I suggested on the Spirit transference talk page that the article should probably be moved to Transfer essence. Obviously I can't move the article (the whole no username thing) so perhaps you could move the article, if you think it's a good idea. 06:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome?

Thanks for the welcome. I think. Aside from your message, so far I have felt anything but welcome here. My article has been repeatedly deleted, even though I stated explicitly that it was under construction and not yet complete. I was never given an exact reason, my page was simply labeled 'fanon' and deleted. I have no problems with people doing their job, but it would have been nice to at least get a description of why exactly someone thought my page violated the rules. That way I have a chance to fix the problem and not repeate the mistake elsewhere. Having several hours of work vaporize with no warning is not a way to make a new member feel at home.

For the record my page was an article describing a Star Wars mod for the game Freelancer. Not only is there an entire category devoted to SW mods, there is another mod of this same game in that section. I don't understand what it was that made my article any more fanon then any of the other articles in that category.

  • MODs require certain notability factors which are, admittedly, not very well defined. Some people just delete them on principle. Culator is one of them. You'll have to bring it up with him on why it wasn't sufficient. If he gets snarky on you, I'll keep him in line, but you are going to have to present credible reasons as to why it is notable enough for getting a page on Wookieepedia. -- SFH 17:25, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
  • Thanks, I will do that when I get a chance. I would contend that a mod that contains over 200 fully flyable Star Wars ships is notable, but that's just may opinion --User:vortical 3 December 2007
  • Thankyou very much, SFH, I truly feel welcome to Wookieepedia. Love Twi'lek21.

Hey SFH, you may not know me, but I need your help. Read my Userpage talk.. You will find my problem. I'm trying my best to make Wikipedia helpful for others (except for the Cheats, I was wrong on that one). I'll add something from the movie *deleted*. Purplegethos 23:29, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Sometimes, an image is too small for it to be at 250px, and sometimes, your written additions sort of disrupt the flow of the article. You might want to look into that. -- SFH 23:40, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Mailing list

Hey, SFH. I've set up a private administrator mailing list to help coordinate the current administrators of the site, and I am attempting to contact each administrator to get them to subscribe. You can subscribe here. My point with setting up this mailing list to get all of the administrators of Wookieepedia operating on the same page, and in a more unified fashion. Regardless of any personal differences that may exist between some members, I still feel that it is important that we are all operating on the same level, with regards to knowledge of the site, and new/upcoming stuff that is going to happen—so, basically, this is an attempt to coordinate us all in an effort to help keep us on the same page with regards to new policies, new ideas, announcements, discussions, etc. In my opinion, we're all on the same team and this will only help us to be a more organized and cohesive working unit—even more so than we currently are. I've already spoken with a few admins via IRC, and they have liked my point of this whole thing, and have thus signed up—I would really appreciate it you could do likewise :) Any questions about this, you know where you can reach me. Cheers, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 16:11, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Not sure if you've had time to sign up, but most other admins have subscribed to the list. If you have subscribed, but haven't received a response from me, please email me with the address you want to use, and I will add it manually to the admin mailing list. There have been one or two instances with other admin's email addresses where I've had to do this. Cheers, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 04:17, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Ok, last attempt here. You're the only administrator, out of our 28 sysops, who has not signed up for the list right now, and there has been some questions from other admins regarding that. Even the not-so-active admins, or admins who haven't edited in months, have signed up, and have been getting involved in the discussions regarding the running of the site, and I think it's unfortunate that you're not a part of it. Simply ignoring the request is, I guess, your choice—but, if you're an administrator of this site, then it's somewhat expected that you at least take part in some of the stuff set up for the administrators. And, truth be told, not replying to the request via my email or talk page kinda sends off the wrong signal. Anyways, if you want to be involved more-so with your fellow admins and being an administrator of the site, you have the link above to the mailing list. If not, then I would appreciate it if you left me a msg on my talk page (or send me an email) explaining your reasons why not; otherwise, I guess you can just continue to ignore the other admins of the site and be left to your own designs. Just remember, you were elected to become an administrator to serve the community, and this mailing list is an attempt to bring all admins together and working towards to the same goal(s)—the betterment of that community; I'm not really 100% sure why you wouldn't want to be a part of that, to be honest, since you at least have the administrator flag on your Wikia account. If the reason you haven't responded is that you don't have an email address, then WhiteBoy can set one up for you at sfh @—being an admin here means you're entitled to it. Likewise, if it's simply about email privacy, and you don't want others to know your email address, I have options available to me as the mailing-list administrator which allows me to block the other admins from seeing your email address—I've done this for a small number of other admins who have subscribed to the list, and it hasn't been a problem at all. The difference with them is, that they didn't ignore the request and they approached me with their concerns because they wanted to see the site thrive through better admin-coordination. With you, however, if you do have special concerns, I can't help unless you make me aware of them. Again, I'm not 100% sure why you wouldn't want to work towards that same goal, which every other sysop has agreed upon, so I'd appreciate some sort of response this time. Regards, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 20:27, 31 March 2008 (UTC

Hello SFH, I just wanted to ask you where I would be able to find the lightsaber form userboxes. Thank you for your time. Resilience Battlemaster 22:11, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
