Re: Backup links[edit source]

Good day to you! Yes, I'm perfectly aware that I should provide a backup link, but I'm having trouble creating one. Indeed, the book page I'm using as a reference is hosted on Internet Archive, but the Wayback Machine cannot save Internet Archive URLs. I also tried, but it cannot archive the specific page, just the preview as a whole. I suppose that will have to do? --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest.png (Audience Room) 10:51, October 7, 2020 (UTC)

  • I honestly thought it would be easy to find a valid online reference to the character of Miss Prissy, but surprisingly, it's not. Almost everything you find comes from fan sites or wikis... Therefore, I had to resort to the same source the Wikipedia article uses. But now you've shown me what's been done with the (strange) case of (Dr) J'Quille, I think I'd rather write a good old fashioned reference. Fortunately, this book has an ISBN number, so I'll include it. (As for the screenshots of social media posts, good riddance! It was a bore to add those. ^^) --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest.png (Audience Room) 11:34, October 7, 2020 (UTC)

Re: Strand-Cast vs strandcast[edit source]

Hello there! Regarding the Strand-Cast article, I think we should rename it "strandcast" and make "Strand-Cast" the redirect. After all, two sources use "strandcast" (the TROS novel and the very recent The Star Wars Book) versus one for the other option; also, the spelling without capitals seems more "normal." What do you think? --Lelal Mekha The Uprising crest.png (Audience Room) 22:10, October 9, 2020 (UTC)

Aqualish[edit source]

I can understand why on other articles Clear can make undesirable blank spaces, but on this article in particular, the effect is very minimal, and you would hardly know it's there, and it helps keep everything in line. I don't think it's a problem there in particular. Christhewalrus (talk) 06:57, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Re: Costume info[edit source]

Thanks for letting me know. I feel like that information is better suited for the Rebel Marine and Rebel Honor Guard entries, instead of individual character articles. Take note that From World War to Star Wars: Imperial Officers on (backup link) is only used as a behind the scenes discussion for Imperial military uniforms/Legends, but none of the individual Imperial officer entries have that note. I feel that the Imperial officer's uniform entry definitely should have that info though. For Piett, it would be different because Kenneth Colley specifically talked about the casting decision surrounding his role in the films, and the Legends article should definitely have that info alongside the canon version, the latter of which already does. However as a further example I don't think the info would belong in the Ozzel article, unless Michael Sheard also publicly talked about any of the decision making surrounding the Nazi parallels. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 16:29, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

  • That is understandable. I guess it only applies to individual characters if their costume is unique. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 20:22, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Sector Maldo Kreis[edit source]

It has been confirmed within the show which sector it's in. Look on the talk page I explain it in full there. It was said Kol Iben was in the same Sector as Tatooine (Arkanis) and is trailing only one other system which seen on Din's map in Chapter 10 to be the system with Maldo Kreis. Therefor its in the same sector. Also one other thing to note, other pages from the Chapter 10 of the Mandalorian such as the one of Trapper Wolf acknowledge the fact he and his partner were on patrol specifically in the Arkanis sector and is cited with Sedaris' quote as evidence.Falcon9DarkJedi (talk) 09:24, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

  • If you watch the scene in Hangar 3-5 again, you'll notice that Peli says that the Kol Iben system was "one sector over." This also means that Maldo Kreis is either located in the Arkanis sector, or the sector Kol Iben is in. We won't know for sure until another source confirms it. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 09:31, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
    • Right before Peli says "one sector over" she says Kol Iben is in the same sector as Tatooine trailing one other system. If you look on Din's map you see that system its trails is the one Maldo Kreis is in. Also if you look at Din's space map on the Razorcrest it shows that Din uses a different sector system than the one that is generally accepted and shows him hopping between two sectors. This is why Peli says one Sector over, because his ship uses an older map of Sectors. But the Arkanis sector is not from the same Sector System the Razorcrest uses due to Arkanis having a different geometry than the one on the map that Tatooine is located in. So in a canon sense, yes it is part of Arkanis. Falcon9DarkJedi (talk) 14:52, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
      • This is assuming that the Crest uses an old and different system and that the geometry is different for in-universe reasons. Do you think that putting this explanation in an article proper and creating an excessively detailed note is a good idea? Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 14:57, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
        • At the very least a note should be made explaining the Razorcrest uses a different system of sectors than what's generally accepted. I am pretty sure its an older system since time and time again it has been reiterated that the Crest was pre-Empire. Most of the geographical terms we know about the SW Galaxy come from imperial terminology after all. And it's not uncommon for a planet to be stated to be in two sectors. For example, Lothal is part of the Dominus Sector in terms of the commonly accepted Sector system due to being in U-7 on the grid. But it has been repeatedly referred to being in the "Lothal Sector" in Star Wars Rebels. This may seem contradictory or more likely it is a different system of terminology. For example, separating a state between counties vs separating a state between Metropolitan areas or by separating by districts. So my best inference is that Maldo Kreis is one sector over from Tatooine using pre-imperial geography and in the same sector when referring to common terminology.Falcon9DarkJedi (talk) 15:41, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Question about Dodson Makraven[edit source]

Hi Shayanomer, I have looked in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia and Dodson Makraven isn't included in his own individual entry, nor the entry for Civé Rashon or Obsidian Squadron, which makes me question whether in canon he can even be proven to have been part of the Bespin takeover/Falcon pursuit. I do wonder if his CCG card image as seen here is definite proof that he is on Bespin, as it doesn't seem to be obviously Bespin on that image at all. As for the second source, it appears to be the same card as the canon article, picture here for reference. Would you say the second image can't be definitely proven to be Cloud City, as opposed to possibly some other location with similar architecture? If so, both versions of the article need to be changed. Thanks for your time. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 03:16, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

  • Hi. Occam's Razor says the second image is Cloud City without a doubt. We've never seen a similar structure before to my knowledge, so we can safely make that assumption. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 05:02, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
    • I would say then that it can only be proven that Dodson flew through Cloud City at some point, without it being confirmed he was part of the Falcon pursuit. Thanks for looking into it, and I never knew the term Occam's Razor before now lol. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 15:57, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Cut Lawquane GAN[edit source]

I expanded the article, and as you predicted, it exceeded 1000 words. It has been removed from the GAN page. Should I nominate it for featured article? I'm not sure if it fits that level of quality. I notice you are part of the inquisitorious, so any advice would be appreciated. Thank you! ImpacticForce (talk) 00:50, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

  • Hello, I am not a member of the Inquisitorius, the list of members can be found on that page. Since there is still some work to be done on the page, I would suggest holding off on that for now. For a first time nomination, you should always start out with something small. What other articles do you have in mind? Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 07:27, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
    • I'd like to try a comprehensive article before I do anything else, but I'm not sure what article. Maybe a Clone Wars character that only shows up for a second. I can comb the show for anything I think could work. If I find one I think could work, I'll bring it up here before I change anything. Many places don't give this much help to new users. Thank you! • Hmm, as far as I know, the naval clone on board the Consular Cruiser in Ambush has no article. He only showed up for a bit, so the article should be short enough for either comprehensive or good. I can't figure out what naval rank he is though. I'd assume Captain, but I'm not sure. Impactic Jedi symbol.svg Force (Talk) 17:48, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
              • If the character has no article, it was either because it was trash compacted or was not created in the first place because of the Notability policy. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 17:53, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
                • Hello again! • The article body is above 165 words, so it needs to be sectioned per Layout Guide. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 03:41, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
                    • Done. I was actually in the process of doing so when you sent this message. The article exceeds 255 words now. I kinda copied the sectioning of the hyperspace article. I couldn't find any quotes on the topic, since it was never directly mentioned within the show. Impactic Jedi Order.svg Force (Talk) 04:14, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
                    • I also expanded the intro slightly, after looking at other GANs. I'm not sure there's much more content I can add without getting redundant. Impactic Jedi Order.svg Force (Talk) 04:58, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
                      • You can briefly mention where and when (events) the spirit world was used. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 05:10, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
                        • I recently created the Lothalian citizen assistance office article, and would like to nominate it as either a CAN or GAN. It currently falls at 243 words. It could be possible to expand it an hit 255 words, but it might be a push. Any suggestions? Thank you, and sorry to keep bothering you. ImpacticForce Jedi Order.svg (Talk) 06:18, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
                          • It needs a Description section, per status article precedent. Also, the date requires a note, it cannot be sourced straight to the novel. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 06:59, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
                            • I added a Description section, and a note for the date. ImpacticForce Jedi Order.svg (Talk) 07:36, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Errol Shaker Article[edit source]

Sorry to disturb you, but as i said in the article, there was an actor named Errol Shaker who was meant to appear in Return Of the Jedi. I did not get that source from ImdB, i became aware of this after i read an article on the website CodeSwitch, titled "Tracking Down The First Asian Pilot In Star Wars". Although the article itself was primarily focused on the man who portrayed the pilot Telsij, Leland Chee did ask J.W.Rinzler to send him call sheets, and there was an Errol Shaker name mentioned. Furthermore, a Star Wars fan of Facebook managed to get an autograph from Shaker himself, and he also shared a picture of a man very similar to Shaker in a Y-Wing pilot's flight suit in an old photo. So i think that most of the sources i included in the article are fine. Dat1899 (talk) 20:11, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

Dorovio Bold photo[edit source]

Is not using that photo of Dorovio Bold taking the Canon/Legends thing to an extreme? The image's original source is Legends, but obviously it's the same photo of the same character and actress, just slightly cropped. Plus the newer source has a much smaller image that may be too small to work well in the article. Maybe I'm wrong and there's an absolute rule here, but I don't see the harm. --JMM (talk) 20:31, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

  • I asked this question regarding another image and I was told not to use it if the source doesn't use the original image from a Legends source unedited. Which Page?[edit source]

Hi Shayanomer! I'm certainly a noob at Wiki editing and could use some help in correcting a mistake. Yesterday you posted on my Talk Page a message titled "Backup links" with what looked like a template message that stated "Thank you for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please note that at least one of your recent additions added unverified information to a mainspace article. Additions to Wookieepedia's articles must be verifiable by a reliable source per our sourcing policy, and unverified information may be reverted or deleted. Continuing to add unverified information may lead to you being blocked from editing by an administrator. Thank you." I'd be happy to fix this, but I made small edits to several different pages yesterday and not sure exactly which page I made the mistake on. Want to make sure I get this fixed so I don't get banned from editing. Thanks! Random00021 (talk) 21:28, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

  • A mistake on my part. I rewatched Chapter 16's post-credits scene and it has the same stock and handle. Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 07:53, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

RE:Inuse[edit source]

What page are you referring to? There's a bunch of them. I believe you said something along the lines of the canon Council members not being on the Post-Ruusan Jedi High Council members cat., if I'm not mistaken, but there are canon Jedi Knights on the Post-Ruusan Jedi Knights cat. Maybe instead of moving them to the Jedi Knights cat., a category page could be created for the Jedi Knights of the Jedi Order. Andrewh7 (talk) 06:33, 12 January 2021 (UTC) Andrewh7

Thanks for letting me know. I will be more careful about that. Thanks! -User: El Clon Renegado

Removing content[edit source]

I removed that text because it excessively bloats the page. And since Daniels pretty much always plays the character, that information is best presented under Daniels' filmmography section. Sometimes less is more! :) Adamwankenobi (talk) 20:07, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

  • If an actor has a lot of credits, there's nothing we can do about it. It has to be presented in the infobox per precedent in status articles. Another issue is that your edit removed entries from the Bibliography when it's supposed to list all works in which the actor is credited. Davan in Star Wars Insider 198[edit source]

Hi, I saw you added a source to Davan article. The source is Jedi Master's Quiz in Star Wars Insider 198. I searched it and there is no mention of him whatsoever. Could you, please, clarify? Darth Paulus JaingHead.svg (May the Force serve you well!) 13:00, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

  • Davan is one of the choices for this question: "8: Who claimed that he had protected the Child in the past?" Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 14:00, 13 February 2021 (UTC)

Re: Copy and paste[edit source]

Apologies, but I had to do something else while it was still a WIP, and I wanted to fill the page with something at least. And since the Legends source gives the exact same info as the Canon one, I figured it wouldn't hurt to copy paste it for the time being. Timjer (talk) 15:38, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Dooku[edit source]

Should I remove this image on CountDooku/Legends

File:This image is not legends.png

. This image is not legends. The one where Dooku learns that Quigon died. It is a canon comic book. I don’t want to get banned so I’m asking you. Aliisdapro (talk) 10:29, 3 March 2021 (UTC)

You can delete it[edit source]

I don’t know how to source so you can just delete it. Aliisdapro (talk) 14:21, 3 March 2021 (UTC)

Project Stardust[edit source]

Shouldn't it be are instead of is? So it would be"A team of editors are...". It sounds better. I am talking about the Project Stardust thingy on Geode. Ali Guzeloglu126 (talk) 13:24, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

  • Remove "of editors," now is "A team are..." grammatically sound? Of course not, "is" is connected to the singular noun "team." Shayanomer Din Djarin's clan.svg (talk) 14:36, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Tholme Image[edit source]

If you check the canon Tholme article page, you will most definitely see the picture of Tholme. It kind of looks like a joke. I am not sure if should delete it, what should I do? PS: You should archive your messages. There are so many that they are slowing my computer down LOLAli Guzeloglu126 (talk) 12:00, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
