Atlas[edit source]

Hi Suikoman444. It looks like you are working your way through the Atlas Appendix creating new articles for all the systems. When you do so, can you please add the {{System}} template, filling in the Region and Coordinate field? Otherwise, someone will have to go through after you and add this in later. The code I've included in this post should be able to be cut-and-pasted easily enough with only minor changes. --Eyrezer 23:48, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Yeah, slowly making my way through. I can do that. Thanks for the template. Suikoman444 23:50, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
    • Minor addition: the infobox should go above anything else. Also, could you please go back and include the infobox for the systems you already proceeded? And thanks for your work, we need it! MauserComlink
      • Sure thing, I'll get them in a little bit. No problem, have a lot of time and thought I'd spend it here. Suikoman444 00:38, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Um, just a quick question: where are you finding the information for the names of systems in the Atlas? I hope you are not extrapolating from the name of a planet, because technically that is considered Original Research. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:40, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
    • I'm taking them from the Essential Atlas's Appendix, which is a list of over 4000 systems, with names, coordinates in the map given in the Atlas, and their region. Suikoman444 06:45, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
      • My mistake. I thought that appendix was for just the planets, not their systems. Gah. -- Riffsyphon1024 00:18, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Oh yeah, I should point out that you probably shouldn't be using the stub templates. A short article isn't necessarily a stub. The actual definition of a stub is an article that's missing a significant amount of info. As long as you've covered everything from the atlas, it shouldn't be classified as a stub. SoresuMakashi(Everything I tell you is the truth) 03:23, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
    • Thanks for the award, heh. And thanks for the clarification. I think a lot of them could be added to in some way, though I can stop using the stub thing on all of them. Suikoman444 03:28, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

help in uber-project[edit source]

It seems, that I will be able to contribute after all. I've started from Z so that we don't do the same work twice. If anyone else wants to join in, they could just start from another letter. MauserComlink 01:06, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

  • Sounds good to me. The online version has sectors, which the book version doesn't, so eventually we'll have to go back through what I've already done, haha. Thanks for the help. Suikoman444 01:09, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
    • Hey, Suikoman. I wasn't sure if the aforementioned uber-project had a headquarters, so I'm writing this here. Since the print version of The Essential Atlas doesn't include sectors for most systems, shouldn't the sources section of the sector articles include a link to the online appendices, and shouldn't the foot notes point to the online pages rather than the print version? That would make it easier for users to track down the actual source and could avoid lots of frustration, I would think. ~ SavageBob 18:46, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
      • Yeah, that's true. The Essential Atlas Online Companion, looks like we have a page for it. I'll start linking to that from now on. I think I'm going to make a "headquarters" of sorts for this project, because I have a lot of ideas for this. Suikoman444 18:52, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
        • Cool; I'll keep an eye out for the HQ when you get it done! The Aliens Wookieeproject is considering tackling one sector and trying to GA or FA all its sentient species, so your work is appreciated! ~ SavageBob 19:14, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

Congrats[edit source]

In your earnest devotion to article creation for the systems, you have pushed Wookieepedia to over 70,000 articles with the Saclas system. Once again, congratulations and I hope this inspires you to continue editing on the wiki. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:25, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

New Project[edit source]

Would you like me to crop down this image to just the "Star Wars: The Essential Atlas" part for your WookieeProject infobox? - JMAS Hey, it's me! 19:52, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

  • Sure, go ahead. Suikoman444 19:55, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

Moving pages[edit source]

Please do not copy and paste an article from one page to another to rename it, as this causes the article's edit history to be lost in the history of the new redirect. Use the "Move" button at the top of the pages instead. This works even if the title you want to move the article to exists as a redirect to the article you want to move, provided the redirect has no history (i.e. the "history" page lists only one revision). If the redirect is not history-free or redirects to a different article, then tag it with {{delete|to make way for move}}; an administrator will then delete the redirect so the page can be moved. Thanks and may the Force be with you! —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 21:38, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
