Hey, Tope. I got a question regarding the discussion about Wookieepedia not being a dictionary. Yesterday I was asked to create an article for Peritonitis, as the disease was mentioned in this article. Is the in-universe mention enough to keep this article or would this be something like "animal"? Clone Commander Lee Talk 23:20, March 15, 2014 (UTC)

  • Sometimes there can be a fine line between what is a dictionary definition and what is an encyclopedic topic, and often times we're left to our subjective opinions on what warrants an article. I believe any disease or mental condition that exists in-universe is deserving of an article, so I think that one is ok. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:27, March 15, 2014 (UTC)

Old GAs

My deepest apologies for not properly fixing the issues on my GAs and therefore causing you a lot of work. I'll do my best to pay more attention to all this in the future. Is it ok not to mention clone troopers being Human males? Clone Commander Lee Talk 00:38, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

  • It's no problem, I don't mind going through them. If you mention someone is a clone trooper, that's basically the same as saying he's a Human male clone. So, yeah, it's kind of redundant. If you still want to say someone is a "Human male clone of Jango Fett" in the P/T, for example, I think that would be ok. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:40, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your work on the articles and the very detailed report on what to do on the AC Meeting page. However, I'm unsure about your Gwarrk objection. While I can try to mention all the stuff he wears/carries, we have no idea if this is personal or "royal" stuff. I'm not sure if your talkpage is the right page to mention this, but I thought it might be easier then posting it all on the Meeting page. Clone Commander Lee Talk 12:11, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

  • Well, don't take my personal description of it as "royal" to be binding or anything. I didn't know what to call it exactly. My point is that he's a leader of his people, and he's obviously wearing a crown, some kind of ceremonial necklace, and he's carrying some kind of spear that to me looks like it's meant to be a scepter (but perhaps not). Do other Rishii in this story wear a crown, a necklace, and carry a spear? I'm guessing not, which means Gwarrk wears them for a special reason, and we can basically infer that to mean because he's a chieftain. That's why his regalia should be mentioned in the P/T. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:32, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
    • The other Rishii in the comic are also armed with the staff, I made some tweaks and mentioned the necklace and headdress as special. I hope that this is not too much speculation. Clone Commander Lee Talk 21:59, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
      • I don't think that's speculative at all. Like I said, we're meant to infer that as the leader of his people, he is wearing this regalia for a purpose. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:53, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Next step

I knew one day these clones will put me to an early grave. Well, I'll do my best. Allow me one question: Is the "relationship" stuff also part of the entry? While I can source Human, male, clone, Kamino and the 1.83 meters to the entry itself, the clone of Jango Fett fact is only in the "relationship"-field. Clone Commander Lee Talk 23:30, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

  • The Relationship section is technically part of this entry, but just to be on the safe side, I would stick with the Databank or some other reference to source mentions of clone troopers being cloned from the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett. Neither the clone trooper or Jango Fett Encyclopedia entry mentions the fact that he's Mandalorian, for example, while the Databank does. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:43, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
    • Thank you. One final question before I start: Why do we have to change the sources at all? As long as the backup link is functioning, the databank is still available. Is this a policy? Clone Commander Lee Talk 23:47, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
      • Well, it's not that it's mandatory, it's just a good practice to keep articles referenced with the most updated, recent source possible. Especially since the Databank no longer exists, readers may possibly wonder whether that information even counts anymore. So it's better to direct them to the new Encyclopedia. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:49, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

It looks stupid, but orders are orders. Clone Commander Lee Talk 01:14, March 24, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, Hk 47. A while back, you added "Battle of Kuat (Yuuzhan Vong War)" to the Battle of Kuat disambig page, but it still remains a redlink. I'm going through and cleaning up these Kuat battles and was hoping you could point me in the direction of what source this event might be found in so I can create the article. Thanks. Proxy Connection with Opera Brownser

  • Hi, I was banned because you reported me using a proxy connection and I would like to explain myself and inform you of a major problem.
  • First, I use two browsers: on my computer I use Opera brownser and Mozilla and on my android phone I use Opera browser too.

I checked my phone and computer and they're no proxy connections active (and I'm sure of that as know how to configure or create one).

The proxy server I used was “ “ but I was not aware of that. And I made some research and I found out this.

  • All people using Opera browser (on computer, android, windows phone and apple) are listed as using a proxy connection named Opera Mini Proxy

However this is not a proxy connection but a “Internet Access protocol” which is the way the browser access the internet. This come from a programming error and it's not actually using a proxy connection.

Opera is a simple browser like Mozilla,Explorer,Safari... this is not a browser like the us army TOR browser using encrypted proxy connection also known as the Darknet.

  • As a conclusion I would like to apologize and make a public enquiry to be unbanned.

And I would to make some suggestions: It would be great to inform The Wikia community of this as plenty of people are using Opera. And on the wiki rules you should inform people that Opera,Tor Browser cannot be used on wikis. Or you can consider that someone with an active proxy connection named “” and a registered account cannot be considered dangerous as we don't choose the proxy connection (as it's not a real proxy connection) this is always named “ “. You can contact Opera development team for more informations .

If you choose to let registered users using opera browser continue to edit pages please inform me but if you don't I engage not to further use Opera browser to edit pages. And it seems that we can't email other users on this wiki it would be great if we could that would help people like me to help you or to inform you of the different problems.

Sorry for all this and sorry for my bad english :-) --Masterus1 (talk) 17:47, March 30, 2014 (UTC)

  • I didn't ban you. I blocked your Opera IP server range, which, as you say, registers as a proxy. Whether it's a proxy or not, it seems it's nonetheless a public access port, which means it's still vulnerable to troublemakers. The range I blocked was relatively small, so you're most likely the only user affected by it. But since you evidently demonstrate the ability to edit anyways through Firefox via a normal ISP, it doesn't appear we have a problem here. Happy editing. Hello Toprawa and Ralltiir :)

I have seen the message yesterday in regards to Wookiepedia requiring a subscription. The only Problem I have with it is the 10 articles per month for non-subs which will severely kill off visits to the site. Paying to be add free and stuff is fine...I am here just to ask for a link to the Subscription stuff If you could please as long as the whole thing wasn't an April Fools joke which I sincerely would not have found funny at all as Wookiepedia is one of my favourite sites ever :)

I decided to go with another frame from this shot for the Episode III icon, specifically this frame which is the full frame (rather, as much as will fit in the 160x60 ratio and be centered on the action) and has the sabers at a more upward angle and with less lens flare. The finished icon is here and you can find all the icons I've done so far at this gallery. Let me know if anything else needs to be done. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 13:39, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

A question concerning the Canon announcement

Do you know why nobody has said anything about the Radio Dramas? If they're canon, Mara Jade is still (kind of) canon due to Arica's appearance.Conner itsatrap (talk) 19:19, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

  • The radio dramas would naturally be Legends, since they depart from the films' original story lines so drastically. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:20, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

What about deleted scenes?Conner itsatrap (talk) 19:31, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

  • If you mean the deleted film scenes, those are considered canon provided they don't conflict with the film's final version. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:32, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, that's what I meant. Thanks!Conner itsatrap (talk) 19:45, April 28, 2014 (UTC)

Canon overhaul

Are you actively accepting proposals regarding how to organize/classify Wookieepedia post-overhaul? After learning about the recent canon overhaul, I was curious as to how the wiki's admins would handle rearranging all the content to make it fit with the current vision. I noticed that for pages such as "Heir to the Jedi" or any episode of The Clone Wars, there is now a.banner that says "canon"indicating its new status. I also noticed that for pages for characters or media within the EU, there is a banner reading "legends". However, even pages for Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 show the banner for legends, which doesn't make sense, as those characters originated within the films themselves. Do you know why this is? (Dkieslin (talk) 02:29, May 16, 2014 (UTC)) dkieslin

  • Yes, the answer is because we're still working on implementing everything, so what you see right now is basically an incomplete work in progress. We have over 110,000 articles, so you can imagine it's all going to take a little bit of time, but we're making steady progress. Eventually, we will implement a system of tabs that separates Legends content from Canon content. Hope that helps. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:32, May 16, 2014 (UTC)

Mongo tribesman

On the recent changes you made on the Mongo Beefhead Tribe page, should the reference to the Dex's Diner at least be chronicled. Call it a possible mention, or at least list it in the Behind the scenes section as something that is a "likely" or "possible" reference. There's no explicit connection, but we know that's the reference intended by the author. Doesn't seem right to me to just ignore it. --JMM (talk) 14:17, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

  • A mention in the Behind the scenes section would be more than appropriate. The original The Epic Continues presentation binder said that they were nearing extinction but didn't say why, and I think it's obvious that the Dex's Diner author intended it to be because they were being hunted for their meat. Obviously, that's all inference and can't be stated outright, but the BTS should absolutely note the connection. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:14, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

FAnom question

Hey Tope I'm thinking of nominating an article as a Featured Article and I was wondering if their is a certain length the intro has to be for an FA. DarthRevan1173 Revan Headshot (Long live Lord Revan) 02:10, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

  • There is no certain length, but the intro should always pass the "eye test." If it looks too long or too short in relation to the article body (not counting the BTS), then it probably is. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:20, June 9, 2014 (UTC)
    • Well I'm thinking of nominating Darth Scabrous' HK droid and the intro is relatively short compared to the bio alone. DarthRevan1173 Revan Headshot (Long live Lord Revan) 02:34, June 9, 2014 (UTC)
      • Looks like it could be a little longer. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:36, June 9, 2014 (UTC)
        • Since the bio is approximately ten paragraphs long should the intro be about half that give or take one. DarthRevan1173 Revan Headshot (Long live Lord Revan) 02:42, June 9, 2014 (UTC)
          • It's impossible to identify a certain number of paragraphs as being long enough or too long, because paragraph size can differ greatly. You just have to give it the eye test and see whether it's long enough. Try looking at some of our existing FAs for guidance. Good luck. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:47, June 9, 2014 (UTC)

New Canon

Hi, I'm still a little confused on the issue of this new canon in regards to TCW. I don't get how TCW can be on both two timelines for things that are strictly TCW exclusive, meaning characters etc. that are only from TCW. Wouldn't they just be one article for them and not a separate Legends and canon article. I hope you get what I'm saying since I might have worded it maybe off. Thanks again.--Darth Pythonis CIS roundel (Talk) 00:20, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hey Darth Pythonis. The reason that The Clone Wars is in both continuities is because it existed prior to April 25, 2014, which is the date that Lucasfilm announced that the Expanded Universe was not official canon. Only stories that have been released after April 25th are canon-only. The Expanded Universe makes extensive use of The Clone Wars storylines, so The Clone Wars is still clearly part of the Legends continuity. But it's also official canon, so it exists in both continuities. This can be a little confusing at first, so your questions are understandable. Hopefully I answered them. If not, let me know and I'll do my best to answer any lingering questions you have. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:41, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

Canon articles

Hello, sorry to bother you, but I've a little question: in the "canon" version of "legends" articles (like "CT-7567/Canon") do you write just what appears in the six movies or in "The Clone Wars" too? Because the episodes are "canon" but it seems that they aren't treated so in writing "canon" articles. Thank you very much and congratulations for your work in the wiki! --ADMIRAL MIKE501 Yes, Sir! 06:27, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

  • The Clone Wars film and TV show are part of both continuities, so the relevant information should be in the relevant canon and Legends pages. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 06:29, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

I apologize if I sound rude, but all information on that article were confirmed by the episode itself. The title sequence however is not attached to any episodes streamed off of youtube, which I guess is connected to its opening theme. However, the opening title sequence was attached to every episode of Droids, excluding The Great Heap special if memory serves. Here are some links to my evidence.

Galactic Gladiators

Hey. Galactic Gladiators contains new information, such as the name of a previously unnamed character. The Layout Guide, under External links, indicates that "some entries on the Star Wars Blog ... have unique canonical information and should be treated as Sources". That being the case can you explain why you moved the item to External links on a number of pages? (PS: The article also mentions a wampa.) --Eyrezer (talk) 06:43, August 7, 2014 (UTC)

no I wont... you see

when there is a problem, address the problem, fix the problem, and change the god forsaken policy. Policy is not something written in the blood of god passed down through centuries... if the policy doesnt work, change it... and I am going to keep bringing up the problem until you and the other admins rationally awknowledge it instead of just deleting my threads adn putting your fingers in your ears... Act like adults here, and awknowledge there is a flaw in your system. It isnt some god forsaken holy document we are talking about... we are talking about the transmission of accurate information to people, and if you refuse to change things to allow that transmission to be as accurate as possible what good are you? ralok (talk) 05:48, August 8, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Tope. If you can please explain you reverts it would be helpful.--Richterbelmont10 R2 sig(come in R2!) 18:22, August 11, 2014 (UTC)

  • The content is explicitly obsolete (definition a: no longer in use). It doesn't exist anymore in any live form and is no longer endorsed by Lucasfilm, even though it remains relevant to our purposes. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:25, August 11, 2014 (UTC)
    • The phrase that the "content is obsolete" has caused confusion for some, leading them to think that the content itself is no good anymore. I was only attempting to clarify it.--Richterbelmont10 R2 sig(come in R2!) 18:45, August 11, 2014 (UTC)

OK, what about my perfectly good Facebook citation on AT-DP pilot? --Alientraveller (talk) 18:54, August 12, 2014 (UTC)

  • Wookieepedia previously discussed whether or not to add social media links to Sources list, and there was no consensus to do so. Even so, the clear intention was to only list posts that contained unique canonical information, similar to how we list Star Wars Blog articles. In other words, there's no reason to list every Facebook and Twitter post that comes out of Lucasfilm, and there's certainly no special reason to list that specific AT-DP pilot post. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:01, August 12, 2014 (UTC)

How to upload pictures you yourself took?

How do we cite that it's from a DVDrip or official pic that got posted on Facebook from one of those outdated non-mirrored sites?--Gunman6 (talk) 20:43, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

  • Can you show me the picture? That might make it easier for me to help you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:44, August 13, 2014 (UTC)
    • I don't have anything with me at the minute but let's say I'm uploading a DVD-Ripped pic of "Obi-Wan yelling "Noooo!" " in the Phantom Menace, how would I cite that for instance.
      • In the Source field of the upload page, you would simply cite it to Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:09, August 13, 2014 (UTC)
        • Now what if it's a miscellaneous on-set photo and you can't for the life of you find the site you got it from but it's the only picture of the person/version you can find?--Gunman6 (talk) 22:31, August 13, 2014 (UTC)
          • Unless you can find a reliable source for it, you shouldn't upload it and use it on an article. You could try uploading the picture to Photobucket or something and then starting a Senate Hall forum thread to see if anyone can help you identify the photo, which I'm assuming is a production shot. Rebels Rx-droid

Hey there, I found an image of a rx series droid from a star wars rebels book, which proves that the droid in question will be in the show. • I wouldn't recommend uploading the image, because I'm assuming it's the same low-quality picture I also saw from the Rebels Head to Head book. Just adding the subject to the Head to Head article would be fine. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 01:50, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

Star Wars Legends edits

I've been working on some updates for the Star Wars Legends page at my sandbox, but it remains locked at this time, so I need an admin to update the page for me, please. Most of the updates are to the "Continuity and canonicity," past tense etc. related to the decision to change the Expanded Universe to "Star Wars Legends" and should be good to pop straight into the article. In the "Radio and audio drama" section, I think it's safe to change to change "Adaptations of the prequel films have not been made at this point." to "Adaptations of the prequel films were never made." There are also several dead links in the External links section that can be replaced with the Internet Archive links I put in my sandbox. Finally, the quote I have on there I think would be a good choice to add to the "Books" section if you want to add it.

On a sidenote-- the "Legends" banner on the top of Legends articles still links directly to the redirect "Expanded Universe," rather than "Star Wars Legends." ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:02, August 25, 2014 (UTC)

  • I've lowered the protection on the page to give you access. You're welcome to make the changes yourself. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:25, August 25, 2014 (UTC)

I've saw and heard on many Providence-class carrier/destroyer's info cards and infoboxes that all Providence-class carrier/destroyers could carry 120 Vulture Droids, 120 Droid Tri-Fighters, 10-30 'Hyena-class bombers, 40 Flak guns, and 1.4 to 1.5 million B1 Battle Droids and B2 Super Battle Droids. This I thought was interesting and I wanted to let you know before I posted it on the Providence's page.

The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight

Okay, sorry about the spacing? Why though the deletion of the Behind the scenes info? I've seen info like that on other book pages here before? Wouldn't that be good info to have for the page? ProfessorTofty (talk) 14:04, October 10, 2014 (UTC)

  • Please see our Out-of-universe Layout Guide. "Behind the scenes" sections are specifically prohibited because the entire article is "behind-the-scenes" content. Just because another article does something doesn't make a practice acceptable. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:35, October 10, 2014 (UTC)
    • I see nothing there that specifically refers to "behind the scenes" sections being prohibited. I do see "Notes and references - List of sources for information in the "Behind the scenes" section." ProfessorTofty (talk) 14:49, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
      • By all means, keep arguing this point. Because I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:04, October 11, 2014 (UTC)
        • Tope is correct. With the exception of plot summaries, OOU pages are behind the scenes information. Most of the information removed here would go into a "Continuity" section. The dedication is fairly irrelevant but could go into "Development" if you were so inclined. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:07, October 11, 2014 (UTC)

Sheev Palpatine

Hmmm. I'm surprised they have finally come up with a name for him. Good job finding that out. I checked Amazon too just to confirm. Out of curiosity, how did you stumble across that info in the first place?

Anyway, I'm not sure of what the policy is for renaming like this. Is it a spoiler? Should we wait until the book comes out to change his name? Does his page need a spoiler warning template at the top? I did a bit of searching, but I couldn't find anything. Is there already a policy for this that I'm unaware of? CloneMarshalCommanderCody (talk) 01:29, October 15, 2014 (UTC)

  • Others deserve the credit for finding it; I just moved the article. Heard about it from word of mouth. And I've added the spoiler tag to the article, since other info from Tarkin will be leaking out now. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:04, October 15, 2014 (UTC)

7.1 New message

  • Not much. I'm re-entering the Star Wars Universe after an extended hiatus due to school. I've also just only begun collecting and I'm trying to complete the PocketModels collection. It may be all in vain, however as these have been out of print since 2009. --AdonisTheTormentor (talk) 03:05, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Re: New Canon subject articles

Then we need to find and kill any links to such articles that are not permissible, or they're going to keep coming back. I count nearly a dozen. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:46, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

Are you sure Star Wars in 100 Scenes doesn't have any reference to it? Because that's one of those places where such a link was created? Again, I'm not doing this just at random-- the number of existing links led me to believe it was permissible. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:47, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry. I was going by the title of the page on that one. Also, apparently it can be that, because on StarWars-DatabankII Dogma in the Databank (backup link), it has "ARC Trooper Fives". Hmm. Which one should we go with, then? ProfessorTofty (talk) 23:49, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

Hola. Just wanted to let you know, I was in the middle of editing the Members section on Lothal rebels when you added the poster. I removed the poster from the infobox earlier, and I added into the Members section an image from the show of the entire crew together. That way, we're not using a poster as an in-universe image. This was just an FYI, so you know why I changed your edit. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:08, November 1, 2014 (UTC)

Work in progress

I would like to clarify the use of {{WIP}} on Star Wars: The Old Republic and by extension Anakin Skywalker/Canon. It was my understanding that it could continue to be used, as it is being done there, so long as there are sections that still need work. Also, when you go in to edit the page, it gives the exact same message as it does if it has "Inuse," which is problematic. ProfessorTofty (talk) 20:58, November 8, 2014 (UTC)

  • Firstly, the Inuse and WIP tags are the same thing. Their redundancy is a discussion for another time. Secondly, as a rule of thumb, you shouldn't leave Inuse/WIP tags indefinitely on major pages like Anakin Skywalker, since many people are going to want to edit those pages. It's not fair to others to leave the tag on there and expect other people not to edit the page for days on end. It's another matter when you're writing article subjects of less import, since you're not likely to encounter people who want to edit minor pages in the time it takes you to write that article. If you want to work on Anakin Skywalker long term, do it on a personal subpage. And just because you see someone doing something somewhere else on Wookieepedia doesn't necessarily mean it's ok. Would you please recreate the image of the Boba Fett cover of "Star Wars #1"?

That image of the Boba Fett cover of Star Wars 1 (Marvel 2015) you deleted, could you please recreate it at once? The reason why I am asking you to do this is because the Forbidden Planet Variant cover I am referring to is based on Adi Granov's Iron Man Vol. 3, #76 cover, featuring one of Iron Man's most popular poses. LEGO Star Wars: The Dark Side

I strongly disagree that LEGO Star Wars: The Dark Side is non-Legends and canon. For one thing, it references both the Unifying Force and Darth Malgus. If you are saying this is canon, then that's a major can of worms that has just been opened up.\

Oh, and furthermore, ""At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will show off these awesome tattoos." Canon? Seriously? ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:11, December 3, 2014 (UTC)

ANOVOS costume

Hello, Tope. I see that you've just uploaded a picture of the new TIE pilot costume made by ANOVOS for use in the canon pilot article, hence this question: does that mean I can use pics of the ANOVOS Imperial officer uniform in the relevant article? The costume's descriptions also gives interesting details on the props, such as the presence of laces and lace holes at the lower legs of the uniform. --Lelal Mekha Old Republic military symbol (Audience Room) 22:47, December 3, 2014 (UTC)

  • I think it's absolutely ok, and I'm actually glad you asked, because I figured someone would be wondering about this. If you read the article, it says that the costumes are meticulously detailed after the models in the Lucasfilm Archives, and Lucasfilm officially endorses them, so I'd say they're definitely fair game. Mission to Moraband in Legends

Since Moraband's original name in Legends is Korriban, should we change it to Korriban in the appearances section of Sacrifice rather than Moraband? Cevan (talk) 18:17, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

  • I guess you could. I would just specify that it's still called Moraband in the episode. Something like: *Korriban (as Moraband) Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:19, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
  • Actually, don't, thinking on it more. Since Sacrifice is a Canon episode, it should only list Canon appearances, and Korriban's name is never used in Canon. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:21, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
    • Alright then. The Legends version of the mission should still be called Mission to Moraband though, correct? Cevan (talk) 18:31, December 6, 2014 (UTC)
      • General opinion in the IRC channel yesterday was to place it at Mission to Korriban (Clone Wars). That's why I moved the Canon page back to Mission to Moraband. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:36, December 6, 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of Agent

Hi Toprawa! I was wondering if you could possible delete the page Agent. You see, in the talk page of Agent, a couple others and I discussed moving Agent to Agent/Canon and moving Agent (rank) to Agent. This would be in accordance with Wookieepedia policy, as the Legends page, Agent (rank) is the most used and highest priority use of Agent within Legends. All who discussed the transition on the talk page agreed that it was the most logical decision as well. I have already moved what used to be Agent to Agent/Canon, and have even corrected all (or at least I believe all) of the links to Agent to now go to Agent/Canon, however I cannot move Agent (rank) to Agent until it is deleted. I'd appreciate it if you could delete Agent so I could complete the transition. Thank you! Cevan (talk) 00:43, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

I'm afraid you'll have to explain this a bit more. I thought it was policy, and still is, to link what ever is possible, with some exceptions such as linking to a disamb page. As such, why exactly is 'Agent' considered a generic term, in that sense? While the word itself may not be totally relevant to, for example, Shmorg, I feel it should still be linked when used as a title, such as when inf front of Kyle Katarn, as he has been explicitly established as an agent (Such as in a way other military ranks seem to be linked when in front of an individual who has attained that rank). Also, is this apparent change in policy somewhat recent? It doesn't really make that much sense. --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 04:20, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

  • There is no policy that says we have to link to whatever we possibly can whenever we can with no sense of whether it actually makes sense or not. We link to things that are relevant. "Agent" is a specific rank, like Admiral or Captain. Examples include Agent Kallus or Agent Cipher Nine. This is not the same as someone who in a general sense is an agent of an organization. Kyle Katarn is a mercenary agent in a generic sense; he is not a literal ranked Agent of the New Republic, so the Agent rank article should not be linked to when mentioning Katarn in such a manner. This is similar to the word "lieutenant." Someone can be someone's lieutenant or right-hand man without being a literal ranked Lieutenant. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 04:28, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
    • Aaah, okay, that last example nailed it. That makes sense. Although are we sure about the Kyle thing? I thought that Dark Forces: Soldier for the Empire and Dark Forces: Rebel Agent made it very clear that he was hired and ranked as an Agent of the Alliance. Hm, maybe not. While I'm here, explain Rick Barba too me. What exactly is needed as a source, other than his name being on the cover of the book he wrote? Or is that he, as far as I know, only has one contribution and isn't notable enough (In which case why not just delete the whole page immediately)? Do I need some extra link? We got plenty of others who seem to have not been hassled with. --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 04:40, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
      • The idea here is that OOU articles should now have Bibliography sections, which serve the same function as the Sources section in an in-universe article. Just list the game guide in a Bibliography section for him. And yes, there are many, probably hundreds, of OOU articles across the site without Bibliography sections, as this is still a relatively new policy and OOU articles go pretty much ignored. Those should all be fixed by anyone who cares enough. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 04:45, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
        • Oh, ok. My fault for not looking that up, didn't know about that. Thanks. Added one in now, and his LinkedIn account, if anything like that was needed. --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 04:50, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Regarding Wikia Skin notice

  • I was in the process of mocking up the separate box for the time being, until we figure out a better option. It's significantly more noticeable when separated from the bigger box. Here's the box and here's the main page with it added. (The logos in the box are placeholders for (possibly) flashing graphics—if you're in a Geocities mood—or even just an Alert symbol like this.) JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 09:07, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
    • The box is very nicely designed. Mind if I offer a suggestion for this? I'd suggest hiding this box (if possible) for unregistered users. It's completely irrelevant to them since they have no way of using Monobook, and they can get right to the primary content of the main page. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:02, December 10, 2014 (UTC)
      • Will this appear for thoses using the Mobile Skin ? And, Per Brandon, it's really well designed.--Emperor Jarjarkine MP-Mandalorian Senate Hall 03:06, December 10, 2014 (UTC)
        • Well, hiding the box is outside of my area of expertise—I just took existing code and worked with it—but I'm sure it's possible. It's all just a matter of making the necessary additions to the "monobook-hide" class to include unregistered users. One of the resident code monkeys should have no problem whipping it up, since I'm pretty sure something already exists (the notice regarding anon edits) JorrelWiki-shrinkableFraajic 07:08, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

Wikia Skin Navigation

Hello Tope. On the Wikia Sking navigation bar, on the Wookieeproject section, the linking is adding an extra "Wookieepedia:" in front of the correct page titles, sending the users to a redlink page instead of the actual project. i.e Wookieepedia:WookieeProject:Rebels when it should be WookieeProject:Rebels". So, i'm just telling you that in case you didn't already know.--Emperor Jarjarkine MP-Mandalorian Senate Hall 02:31, December 10, 2014 (UTC)

Vaporator in VII --MrThiefplayer (talk) 15:19, December 13, 2014 (UTC)

  • That doesn't mean anything for the purposes of Wookieepedia, even if it is accurate. All information on Wookieepedia must be attributable to a reliable source, and is not a reliable source. We have no way of confirming that leaked photo or whatever it is truly comes from Episode 7. The best practice is to wait for an official confirmation from Lucasfilm. Questionable names, valid content

Thanks, T&R, for the clarification on those names of Mandalorians found in the list of Mandalorians. They are, IMO, questionable names in themselves, ultra super-duper cheesy, but your point is taken. If someone at LucasArts in fact accepted them...we get to enjoy them here. Who is Yoda's master and where can I read about him? Great work on the wiki by the way. How hard is it to keep 100,000 articles at your wiki standards? Tono555Want to have a word? 04:57, December 31, 2014 (UTC) Unsigned comment by Tono555 (talk • contribs).

  • Thank you. You can find everything you need to know about Yoda in the Yoda article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 04:59, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for that. Like I said in that forum post - wasn't sure where to put that. Been watching that animated series as my son loves them, and went looking for it. So, anyways - thanks! TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 10:43, January 6, 2015 (UTC)

Agathidium vaderi is a real bug!!!!!! I read it in Star Wars: The Complete Vader --RROGON (talk) 01:23, January 13, 2015 (UTC)

  • No one, including myself, is questioning that. More important is the matter of whether it belongs on Wookieepedia. Judging from our general community approach to such things, it almost certainly does not. I would recommend adding it to the Star Wars Fanpedia. Care to Help Us Revamp?

Hello, Toprawa and Raltiir! (I'm doing my best to make sure that this message doesn't look like spam :))

My name is Jacob, and I'm the senior administrator and bureaucrat for the Star Wars: The Old Republic Wiki ( I'm writing because our Wiki is in a state if informational decline, mainly because we do not have enough active users to keep up with the expanions and new content being added to the game. Is it possible that you could contant a few users that you know are well-versed in Old Republic-era knowledge that would be willing to come and help us out? We are currently in the midst of a revamp, and would love all the help that we could get.

BTW I already contacted Cade regarding this, but it appears as though he doesn't like out Wiki (according to one of our administrators) and hasn't responded to the message I sent him over a week ago.

If there is anything you could do, we would all greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time! ShatterClub|talk|TOR Wiki Bureaucrat 16:45, January 14, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hello, Jacob. It's out of respect for our two projects being Official Friends that I take the time to respond to your message. Respectfully speaking, I have no interest in contributing to your wiki nor will I be contacting other Wookieepedians to see if they would like to do so. Take a moment to consider your request from our perspective (and this question is rhetorical): Why would Wookieepedia want to sacrifice its own manpower to help another wiki that is trying to cover the exact same content in virtually the exact same way? Frankly speaking, I share Cade's opinion on the institutional folly of allowing Star Wars splinter wikis to operate as mirror projects to Wookieepedia, but we have no control over that. Rather, I would encourage you to contribute to our wiki and help us continue to improve our excellent coverage of TOR content. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:44, January 14, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for moving that Neyo image. I was trying to move it after seeing how stupid the name was. I'm inexperienced with uploading images. - AV-6R7User talk:AV-6R7 05:00, January 15, 2015 (UTC)

Confusion about Canon

Hello, I tried using your Star Wars answers wiki ( to find the answer to this question, "Is Star Wars the Clone Wars television series canon?" and the answers were both yes and no. Is the television series canon, because I have not find a suitable answer on any of the wikis. This wiki says that it is canon, however, it has all the events that took place in the series as Legends. If the Clone Wars is cannon, then why are all the events that took place during that time considered Legends on this wiki. It seems as if it is only partly canon. Please help me, I have tried to find the answer, but it appears that the answer is "yes and no." Can you please help clarify this? --Australopithecusman (talk) 22:23, January 17, 2015 (UTC)

My deepest Apologizes

I do apologize, and you're right about my statements being out-of-place. It was a bit ranting, I might add, and for that I am genuinely sorry. I've just been to many wiki's where there are many admins that find no sensibility, and I mistakenly assumed that Wookieepedia had fallen to the same. That being said, I too of all people should've looked at your rules closer (the Jurassic Park wiki isn't quite as large, so we don't have as many protocols there). Next time I'll pay more attention to your policies. Thanks for the reassurance. --John Alfred Hammond, CEO (talk) 14:20, January 21, 2015 (UTC)

FA/GA/CA Main Page randomizers

I've noticed over the years that Wookieepedia:Featured articles/Random and its cousins can cause small headaches to maintain because they do not show up on "what links here", meaning that when a status article gets moved, the randomizer is often left with a redirect link, a redlink (if the redirect is deleted), or even a link to an entirely different article (if that article is moved over top of the redirect). It also means that review panel members have to manage two separate lists of articles. I recently discovered that the Lua extension can actually fetch the wikitext of another page and perform string operations on that wikitext. With that in mind, I wrote a Lua module to replace the randomizers tonight. You can see it at w:c:masterjonathan:Module:Test. The module directly fetches the appropriate page (Wookieepedia:Featured articles, etc.) and parses it for links, retaining any italics or quotes surrounding the link, then selects one of those links at random and returns that link for display.

Two changes would be needed to WP:FA and its cousins: first, <!--Start--> and <!--End--> comments would be added to the top and bottom of the list, respectively, to tell the module what portion of the page to parse; and second, a template would be created for linking to pages that should not show up in the randomizers (e.g. the year articles linked under "events" and anything that hasn't been featured on the Main Page yet). This template would be as simple as {{Link|title|text}}, which would be a direct replacement for [[title|text]], and could be easily converted to a regular link once that article has been featured on the Main Page (side note: that might actually be something I could automate as part of my bot's daily tasks; I'll have to look into it to see how feasible it is). Using the template would prevent the module from recognizing the link, since it searches for the [[...]] syntax. Is this something the review panels would be interested in? • Possibly, to answer your question. I don't think it's fair that I just say yes or no on my own. It's something we would have to discuss, so probably something best left for our next meetings. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 17:30, January 30, 2015 (UTC)
    • I figured you would want to discuss it at the meetings, so that's fair. I was mainly just looking for a general feeling right now, not a final approval. I do pay attention to the meeting pages and logs, so I'll check those out when available. Depending on the dates, I might be able to attend the meetings to answer any questions, but I can't guarantee that at the moment. —MJ— Holocomm 21:43, January 30, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Vandalism advice

Roger that. I usually don't have the need to do those things, since you admins are always quick to notice such problems. ;-) But it seems that one was very persistent. --LelalMekha (talk) 00:12, March 7, 2015 (UTC)

I created the Felicity Jones page and I'm pretty new to editing this site. It's been fun looking at the page keep changing. There was a message mentioning to add an image. I did just that from the official one on the site. I just edited it down on Photoshop. Why did you remove it?
