Main Page talk Edit

To encourage discussion at Senate Hall and centralize the assortment of random commentary, we should probably hide the archives of the Main Page talk. I'll volunteer to patrol it make sure that any discussion there is relevant to the Main Page, rather than Wookieepedia overall. Thoughts? --SparqMan 00:41, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Evening, I'm a longtime Star Wars fan and actually a member of a Star Wars RPG called the Star Wars Combine and own a very large server for hosting Faction Related Websites and the like. I was wondering if you would like to have Free hosting for the Wookieepedia on my servers. I could help Transfer everything and do the setup work ETC. And you would of course still be the Owner of the Wookieepedia. I know your likally say no but the Wookieepedia's so awsome i had to offer. As a side note i also Maintain a Wiki for the Star Wars Combine Located [HERE] WillSWC 06:14, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm not WhiteBoy, but I should point out that WhiteBoy, despite being the founder, does not own Wookieepedia. Nobody does. Such questions should be decided by the community, not one person. And frankly, I do not see any reason to move away from Wikia, with all the support they have been offering. Not to mention that, since Wookieepedia has a shared user database with the rest of Wikia, moving to another hosting would mean a lot of bogus users. - Sikon 10:12, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Your right, No one really OWNS the Compedia. I poorly worded that. And i doubt it will be accepted i know. But honestly the Wookieepedia's so awesome i had to offer. And as for moveing it, I could myself Move almost all of the Wookieepedia in under 2-3 weeks. Thats without help. Userpages would have to stay and be moved by the User but otherwise i can move it myself. WillSWC 10:28, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
  • I would find the move unnecessary. Wikia supports us and to leave them would leave us in the dark. Sorry. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:52, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
  • I cannot add much more to what the others have said. Wikia provides us free hosting and has supported us very well, so we have no reason to leave. But thanks for kind words and the offer. WhiteBoy 11:40, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Help Edit

I know that you are probally busy running the largest wiki ever but I was wondering if you could give me a couple words of advice. I am the founder of a new wiki and I am confused on what to do. I am sorry if you bothered you, please respond here. Jimwitz 01:32, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank You so much for your advice. Jimwitz 21:00, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Email Edit

Hi WhiteBoy, Jaymach recommended I talk to you about getting an email address. If you don't mind, I'd like Let me know if that's ok. Thanks for your time! —Xwing328(Talk) 02:51, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Late response to your message: I would like my email address to be , if that's alright. =) --Imp 22:40, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Heh, no problem. I had one already setup for you as Imperialles, but I can change it. Email or IM me so I can get you the instructions for logging in. WhiteBoy 22:47, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Wookiee-Cast Edit

Patience, sir. You'll get one each Wednesday. :P .... 05:54, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Cool! We should create a Wookieepedia:WookieeCast (WookieePod? what's the name of the pod that Yoda used to escape from Kashyyyk?) page and make it official. Of course maybe we should run that through CT first. WhiteBoy 23:11, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Seeking Interview with Wookieepedia creators. Edit

Hi WhiteBoy. This is copied from my talk page. Christine asked me in our email correspondence to forward this to you as you are the "creator" of the site. —Xwing328(Talk) 02:49, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[EMAIL DELETED PER REQUEST] Christine C.R.S. Webmaster & Research I-SCI-FI Unsigned comment by Spiderpaws (talk • contribs).

  • Thanks, XWing328. I emailed her a few days ago, but have not heard back from her. Maybe she contacted someone else for the interview? WhiteBoy 14:08, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
    • I'm not sure. Riffsyphon1024 was another one of her "potential" interviewees, so maybe you two can coordinate it somehow, if she doesn't get back to you specifically. —Xwing328(Talk) 16:53, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Hmm, do you know if anything ever happened with this? —Xwing328(Talk) 16:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
        • No, I have not heard back from them. Just a comment, tho: What XWing328 copied was not an email sent to him, but rather a comment posted on his own talk page, so there was no confidentiality compromised. WhiteBoy 20:47, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Help Edit

I tried to create an article (well, actually a category) but misspelled it, realizing it too late. Now I can't change the title, and I can't delete the article. How can it be fixed? Darth Something

4th Bureaucrat on the standEdit

I know you periodically check here, so before the end of this vote, I'd like your opinion on the matter of Imperialles at Wookieepedia:Requests for user rights. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:01, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey, Riff. Thanks for the heads-up. Yeah, I've known about it since last week. Haven't decided yet. I hate to keep voting no on these, because I'm sure people take it personally. It's nothing against anyone, but I don't see any reason to add another bureaucrat. There is one (or *maybe* two) other that I would rather have than Imp and I've already voted "no" on them, so at this point I doubt I'll vote "yes." But I'm still weighing it in my head. WhiteBoy 13:28, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

q&a (possibly) Edit

Ok. Can you tell me what all this <stuff></stuff> is? I would also like to know:

  • If I can get a list of all of the <things> and what they do
  • if I can get the name or username of the person who invented them
  • If I can have somebody tell me how to use them all properly
  • more to come...

Complaint against an administratorEdit

Hi. This is Jaywin. I wanted to make a brief complaint against an administrator, Darth Culator. I was doing a little bot work (which apparently Culator has a problem with, judging by his comment on my talk page), and he banned me without warning.

More specifically, I was going down the list in the Wanted Pages (which I occasionally do) to try and get rid of some redlinks. Today, I was getting rid of some redlinks that mostly involved IP user pages with a template called "user" (which now Culator has gotten rid of as well). I was also putting welcome templates on the talk pages where they were needed. (Apparently I was using the wrong template on the discussion page. Green Tentacle left a message on my talk page, pointing out my error...which was more of a courtesy than Culator provided. I immediately thanked GT for pointing this out to me.) I began getting rid of some redlinks on Special:Userlist, and (without paying attention, I confess), put the user template on a banned user's page. Apparently this is when I got banned.

I went on the IRC channel to try and straighten this out. Darth Culator was there and basically accused me of being irrational and a vandal. When I suggested that he could have assumed good faith and left a message on my talk page, he responded that he hated it when people mentioned "good faith" (or something to that effect) and then proceeded to kick me off of the IRC.

He then "graciously" unblocked me since he "got my attention" [1]...of course, he could have got my attention by leaving a message on my talk page, but I guess that would be too much to ask from an administrator who doesn't seem to have much use for the good faith policy.

Personally, I think that Darth Culator's behavior was quite rude and belligerent, and I would expect more from an administrator. Also, judging from his talk page, I'm not the only one who has a problem with the way he conducts business on Wookieepedia.

This wasn't quite as brief as I hoped. But thank you for taking the time to read this, and please feel free to leave a response on my talk page if you'd like. Have a good one. Jaywin 02:01, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Finally an image!Edit

Yeah no pressure, and you look good. I wouldn't know why you're smiling. ;) Though as you can see from the talk page of your article, that anon user was getting upset with me. It wasn't that big of a deal was it? -- Riffsyphon1024 03:07, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

  • hehe... no problem at all. I may try to find a little more "normal" pic (i.e. smiling instead of laughing), but that one was handy because a friend had posted it on another web site. WhiteBoy 14:20, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Request for interview Edit

The Daily Edit, Wikia's community-written newsletter, has requested that you be interviewed for a future issue. This will be in a bimonthly section called Founder interview. Please answer if you would like to be interviewed. Thanks! --Leon2323 (editor-in-chief of The Daily Edit) 12:07, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Sure! Email me and let me know what you have in mind.  :) WhiteBoy 15:28, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Ok, sorry that I have to barge in, but this is too much. Can't the other co-founder get in a little action here? Ok, that totally sounded egotistical right there... It all stems back to that actually sending in for the request. Wikia does not realize that I was a co-founder; they only see one. Is that legit? -- Riffsyphon1024 16:53, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Now I'm eating my words here. Apparently my name shows up there. -- Riffsyphon1024 17:02, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
    • LOL... "action," eh? :D Adventure..heh! Excitement..heh! If you want, I'll let you know what I hear from them. WhiteBoy 09:21, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
      • Hmmm... ok, how about having both co-founders interviewed? I'll just ask the interviewer to interview both of you  :-) --Leon2323 12:21, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
        • Sounds like a plan. :) WhiteBoy 12:37, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
          • Thanks. I didn't want to be left out. :D Now how would this work? -- Riffsyphon1024 14:08, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
            • Dunno. We'll just have to wait for them to contact us. WhiteBoy 14:26, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
              • Sorry, I've been having quite a few problems trying to access the internet recently. Also, Swannie will be interviewing you. --Leon2323 22:13, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
                • Hello. I am the interviewer for The Daily Edit. I'm sorry that I'm getting to you late, I've just been really busy. The entries for the newsletter must be submitted by June 29 (for June issue). When would be a good time to interview? We interview on an IRC Channel....I'll get back to you real soon! Thanks. Swannie 01:09, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

UPDATE:To IRC channel is IRC channel #wikianews on freenode. Sorry, again, about the late notice. We just need to set up a time. Thanks, again! :-) Swannie 01:13, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I can't access that link, it's invalid. If you (Swannie) want to interview me as well, message me on my talk page for a time to get on IRC and private message. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:20, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
  • How about Sunday afternoon around 2PM CDT? WhiteBoy 14:13, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Interview QuestionsEdit

Hi! Okay--would you like me to post the questions for the interview on your talk page, since the link is invalid? Or, would you like to log onto a different IRC Channel? I posted this on Riffsyphon1024's talk page too. Thanks!! Swannie 00:44, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I'm sure I'll be able to connect to the channel just fine. WhiteBoy 06:20, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
    • I cannot seem to connect to the channel. We'll have to go to a different one. How about the "wikia" channel? 2 pm CDT is fine with me. Talk to you later! Swannie 18:17, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
      • Just so you know, I'll be at for the IRC. Just type in your username in the "nickname" box, and type in #wikianews in the "channel" box. That is where I'm going to be. Thanks! :) --Swannie
        • Thank you for the interview time! Good luck with Wookieepedia!! --Swannie

It's come to my attention that a "compromise" has been made. Frankly, this is unacceptable. That was Nebulax's eigth edit war ban. WP:BLOCK proscribes an infinite ban after the fourth offense. Note that Nebulax has forged these compromises in the past, over and over and over again, and nothing has ever come of them but more of the same behavior. He's excellent at playing the pity card, at playing the persecution card, at playing the repentence card. But they're only cards. If he truly meant a word of them, he'd have changed his behavior. But he hasn't. He's been given chance after chance after chance after chance, and he's blown each and every one of them. Why will one more chance make a difference? I told him not to continue edit warring. Instead of being reasonable and working to talk out a compromise version, he continued edit warring, attempted to order around the admin in his edit summary, and responded to the admin with an incredibly rude message. His entire attitude is that he is better than anyone else and will do whatever he wants. He only comes crying to you after he's called on it, putting on the "poor me" act to get an excuse to continue on exactly the same way he's been. If any anon or new user had acted the way he had in that one incident, to say nothing of Jack's long history of identical violations, he would have been out, gone. Why does Jack get special treatment? Because he's been around? I ask you to please step back, put aside the fact that he's a fixture here and we've become acclimated to his juvenile, egocentric behavior, and analyze his situation as you would a non-established user. That's what I did. And once you put aside emotion, which is meaningless, there is no rational, logical, factual reason not to carry out an infinite ban. It's what policy demands and Jack doesn't deserve special treatment, especially not considering that he's gotten that treatment time and time again and has not changed one bit. Please reconsider this "compromise" (which is simply allowing Nebulax to continue his pattern of behavior after a short hiatus). I put my foot down, with more than enough factual backing, and you and Sikon went behind my back to lift that foot back up in a way which I feel undermines my authority, which is necessary for me to perform as an administrator, and the unity and credibility of the administration as a whole by showing that all it takes is one emotional appeal to reverse a decision made by a different administrator. To be honest, I find it rather disrespectful to, on an issue where I had made my determination very clear and had ample factual backing, circumvent me and reverse my decision without even consulting me. I'm aware that this probably occurred on IRC when I was not on; nevertheless, I feel that this would have been much better served to bring me into the process, even if it meant a short wait to post on my userpage and wait for a response the next day. As is, I feel as if my side of the argument did not get a fair hearing and that this compromise is misinformed and in need of another discussion. Havac 00:25, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

  • First of all, I'm not sure why we're having this conversation. I thought this was between Culator and Sikon, not you and I? :) So, I'm not sure what you have heard. Here is the story as far as I know it... Sikon released the ban on Jack, and it was my understanding that he was going to change it to a week-long ban. But Sikon apparently did not, so Culator (after listening to my and other admins' opinions) decided to put the week-long ban on. I did not undermine anyone's authority (I did not change anything and did not tell anyone what to do), and would avoid it if at all possible -- especially when dealing with unruly users. My main goal was (per our policy) to make it abundantly clear to Jack that due to multiple violations of the WP:3RR which in turn falls under "Disruption" under the WP:BP, this is his Xth warning, which results in his being banned for Y length of time. The next warning will result in his being banned Z length of time. If he has been given clear, prior warning that "next time is a permaban," then I'm cool with it (please link the warnings and/or the pages with {{blocked}}), and we should follow through with it. Culator did an excellent job of said warning on Jack's talk page today. I assure you that I'm not defending Jack's actions at all, and have no emotional ties to Jack. We merely need to follow set policy (and do so as consistently as possible). On a side note, it seems to me that if the next step is an infinite ban, then the current ban should be for two months. Otherwise, the next ban should be two months, and the one after that infinite. Thoughts? WhiteBoy 06:27, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
    • Ah. Well, I was told that the compromise was the result of you, Sikon, and Culator talking, so I left that message for you and Sikon and contacted Culator on IRC. I'm glad to see that there was a policy reason behind the decision, which reassures me greatly. If it's one week now, we might as well stick with it and go with the permaban from there, as per the compromise. Yet another change would only make the administration look more divided, confused, and weak-willed. At any rate, I'm glad that this is all settled on this end, though Sikon has expressed on IRC an absolute unwillingness to permaban established users, and is rather clear that he will unilaterally transmute any permaban into a temporary ban regardless of rules, which worries me. I'm going to try talking with him some more; it might help if you did so as well. Havac 00:13, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
      • Heh, well, it may have been as a result of Culator listening to us, but I wasn't strong-armming him into it. I think he was just willing to listen to us and other admins who thought it was too harsh. Anyway, Sikon has started a good thread up to discuss it. I'm sure you've seen it by now, but make sure to hit Forum:Jack Nebulax. And I am confident that Sikon will uphold whatever the community decides. WhiteBoy 00:55, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
      • er.. after just reading your statement I am suddenly not as confident that Sikon would do the right thing. I will try to talk to him. WhiteBoy 01:30, 21 June 2007 (UTC) Edit

Info for The Daily Edit Edit

Hi! You can make it so the newsletter is delivered to your talk page here. Also on that page, there are links to subscribing by email or RSS. Another thing, the interview might be in the June issue. But, I'm not sure yet, because Leon2323 hasn't responded yet. I left a message on his talk page regarding where to put the interview. User:Swannie 20:12, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Wookieepedia External Link at Wikipedia Edit

I play a game called Eve Online and submit articles to My other hobby is working on Wikipedia so of course the two hobbies collided and I found an article about Eve Online at Wikipedia. Of course it was obvious our should be linked to the Wikipedia article.
I have met with the stiffest resistance and would like your help/advice since your success in maintaining links to Wikipedia.
You can contact me at Uni Zueto at or Alatari at Wikipedia

  • Well, I agree that it does makes sense to have a link to a related wiki in the External links section. But I also know that some editors are not very inclusionist so would be resistant to having it, particularly if your wiki is not very active and/or big yet. I know pretty much nothing about your wiki, so I have no idea how active it is. But I would think this would be no problem if your wiki has much activity. It could be that there is another EVE wiki out there that is already linked to. WhiteBoy 03:37, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: AdminshipEdit

Thanks WhiteBoy! And I think I will take you up on that offer. Would the e-mail address be ? Is yours whiteboy? Gonk (Gonk!) 14:22, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Merry Christmas! Edit

Graestan would like to wish you a Merry Christmas!

I'd like to thank you all for the friendship, guidance, and support you've given me in the past year. Were it not for people like you, Wookieepedia would not be the success it has become. Keep up the good work! -- Graestan(Talk) 18:58, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Reporting Edit

Hello "WhiteBoy", as one of the reporters for our news association(see:Wikia:User:*Reporter*), I have choosen you for an interveiw, if your interview gets picked for any one of the newpapers/magazines you could get much more users here. If you like to please simply reply and I will set it up for you. Thank you.--*Reporter* 12:42, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

  • I appreciate the offer, but Riff and I were interviewed in the July edition of The Daily Edit. I'm sure your readers would prefer to hear from the founders of some of the other wikis before hearing from me again. However if you have something different in mind than what's already been done, just let me know...I'm always glad to talk to people about Wookieepedia.  :D WhiteBoy 02:02, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Its not the Daily Edit on Wikia, its in real life. Anyway I am glad that you would like to. I am setting up some questions at User:*Reporter*/Interview, simply answer those...--*Reporter* 07:21, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Bureaucrat vetoEdit

You stated here that regardless of whether or not bureaucrat veto rights are abolished, you and Riff will always retain them. What on Earth led you to that conclusion? --Imperialles 15:31, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

  • Simply because we are the founders. WhiteBoy 16:43, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
    • You really need to read this. The fact that you founded Wookieepedia is irrelevant to community decisions—you're bureaucrats, nothing more. --Imperialles 19:03, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
      • Yes, I've read it before. WhiteBoy 07:42, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

So this is the genius who created Wookieepedia Edit

Fantastic, I really want to thank you personally for creating this site! Such marvelous work!! Thank you!! Thank you!! THANK YOU!!!

--Very wholesome thanks from Mecha G 1

  • I cannot help myself but to intervene. I was the other "genius" if you will in creating Wookieepedia, not to take away from the many other great contributors here over the last 3 years. It's a team effort. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:53, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
    • "It's a team effort." QFT, Riff. I definitely appreciate the thanks, but it has much more to do with the community than me. I just took the initiative to start it; they are the ones who have made it what it is today. Enjoy the site! WhiteBoy 14:32, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

First articleEdit

Hey Chad. Xwing328 and I were working on expanding the Wookieepedia article and needed to know what the first article that you moved over to our wiki from Wikipedia was. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:38, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Heh...I don't have any idea. I've slept a couple times since then.  :( I bet there's a way to go back and find it through the logs, tho. Update: Looking at my contribs, it looks like maybe Brianna [2] WhiteBoy 15:41, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
    • It seems like there's missing history though. The wiki was founded on the 4th, but when did you actually start editing articles? Brianna is showing up on the 9th. Oh btw, happy 3rd Wookieeversary!!! -- Riffsyphon1024 08:29, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
      • *shrug* It's possible Wikia created it on the 4th, but I was out of town, sick, or who-knows-what and just didn't get started until the 9th. And three years...e-mazing! WhiteBoy 14:32, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
        • Yeah and I don't think we need to move the founding to the 9th suddenly. My edits started on the 10th myself but that makes more sense as to when I got word about it. -- Riffsyphon1024 00:27, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Chad. If you could check your email that's linked to your Wikia account, there is a request waiting there for you :) Cheers, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 04:26, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Mailing listEdit

Hey, Chad. I've set up a private administrator mailing list to help coordinate the current administrators of the site, and I am attempting to contact each administrator to get them to subscribe. You can subscribe here. My point with setting up this mailing list to get all of the administrators of Wookieepedia operating on the same page, and in a more unified fashion. Regardless of any personal differences that may exist between some members, I still feel that it is important that we are all operating on the same level, with regards to knowledge of the site, and new/upcoming stuff that is going to happen—so, basically, this is an attempt to coordinate us all in an effort to help keep us on the same page with regards to new policies, new ideas, announcements, discussions, etc. In my opinion, we're all on the same team and this will only help us to be a more organized and cohesive working unit—even more so than we currently are. I've already spoken with a few admins via IRC, and they have liked my point of this whole thing, and have thus signed up—I would really appreciate it you could do likewise :) Any questions about this, you know where you can reach me. Cheers, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 15:58, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I appreciate the spirit of this and your effort in putting it together. I will join, but off the top of my head I'm not sure it's needed with the Forum pages, talk pages, and with IRC. WhiteBoy 16:25, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
    • The reason that I have put it together is because, to be honest, I've noticed a fair majority of administrators who are not actively involved with the forums, talk pages, or IRC. It took me about 40 minutes to advise every administrator, via their talk page about the mailing list. For future admin-related stuff, it might take me, or others, 5 minutes to write an email, and send it to the mailing list—thus, every admin on the list, gets the email ;) For me, it's all about efficiency, among other things. Hope that clears it up a bit :) Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 16:41, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Sorry, but I don't know why this isn't working. You might post a question in the Senate Hall or drop in on the IRC channel to see if anyone there can help. Good luck! WhiteBoy 04:13, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Concerns from a Wikia FounderEdit

Hi. I just stumbled on upon User:WhiteBoy/Kuralyov while doing some browsing, and this has caused me a great deal of concern. I'm the Founder over at Yu-Gi-Oh!, and I'm really puzzled as to why someone with such blatant disregard for the rules handed down is still a contributor, never mind a Staff member.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 00:32, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Yes, Kuralyov has recently had his admin status removed. The individual complaints about Kuralyov that I received and recorded in the page you linked did not necessarily justify removing his admin status, I thought. I believe in the site's admins by default and will take their side every time until I'm convinced otherwise. But the things brought up were worth noting and I wanted to keep a record of complaints received in case it proved to be a trend. WhiteBoy 05:34, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Big thanksEdit

Thank you for making Wookieepedia, along with RiffSyphon1024! It's given me a chance to interact with real people, and not just play games on the 'ternet. 06:20, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I'm glad you enjoy the site. WhiteBoy 14:32, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
    • Yeah, Riff said something similar to that. JadenKorr13 20:14, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Logos Edit

I was wondering, when this wiki was established, did there have to be permission to get the logos made, what with the Death Star II and the Star Wars logo? I've recently set up the ComedySportz Wiki, and a couple of people have said something about the ComedySportz logo being trademarked. I really don't understand what the big deal could possibly be; it's not like I'm using the logo to sell anything, I'm just trying to set up a place where people can look up factual information about ComedySportz. Happy editing,--Artist Walser 03:05, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

  • It is something that was discussed long ago, and I hardly remember it. (You might be able to find something in the IRC archives or discussion/forum pages). I don't recall there being any problems, tho. WhiteBoy 16:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

I started a new WookieeProject on real world music, if you would like to join. Master Fredcerique 12:49, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Cool. I don't have a whole lot of time to spend here any more, but I do appreciate the offer. Good luck with the project. WhiteBoy 13:46, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Greyman Edit

Do you know what happened to Greyman? In my opinion, he was one of this wiki's best admins, and bureaucrats for that matter (no offense), and I was just wondering what happened to him. Please respond on my talk page, --Skypopper 23:15, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

  • I agree that Greyman was a very good asset to the site and I wish he were still around. I don't know all the details of his leaving, so it's better that I not speculate. I suspect you could possibly still contact him via his talk page, if not email him through his user page. WhiteBoy 01:36, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
    • I tried to, but there is a banner that says that he has left Wookiepedia, thats why I tried to see if you knew anything about his leaving. Do you know if he contacted any one before leaving? I really appreciate you checking on this for me. SkypopperHoloNet Transmission 15:13, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
      • If I may intervene, why is it so important that you know where Greyman is? There are many others that are helping out the site and Grey is only one person. WhiteBoy can not keep up with everyone on the site, so you might not have much luck asking around like this. Furthermore, have you checked Greyman's Contributions? -- Riffsyphon1024 20:19, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

You Rock. Edit

Just had to say're the man.--LastJedi1515(Talk) 23:06, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm glad you like the site! I assure you that it has always very much been a cooperative effort. WhiteBoy 01:30, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Deleterevision Edit

Hey WhiteBoy. The bureaucrat group will soon have a new right added to it on Wookieepedia, deleterevision. This allows us to hide revisions from public view. This should only be used to hide inappropriate or offensive material such as particularly vulgar username creations, usernames revealing users real names, edits revealing real names or posting real-life images of user, and copyright violations where the page history is too big to restore revisions individually. On page histories and in logs you will see a (show/hide) button on the left hand side, which will look something like this:

(show/hide) 04:04, December 8, 2009 Grunny (Talk | contribs | block) m (9,714 bytes)

Use common sense when it comes to this tool as to when it should be used, as misuse will result in the right being removed and the wrath of sannse :P. Cheers, Grunny (Talk) 04:47, December 11, 2009 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the tip.  :) WhiteBoy 05:54, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
    • Okay, the right has now been added so you should start seeing the (show/hide) button in histories, diffs and logs :). Cheers, Grunny (Talk) 22:37, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

E-mail Edit

Hey WhiteBoy :-). Noticed you logged in recently to the site, could you check your email attached to your user account if you haven't already? Just want to make sure you get it :-). Cheers, Grunny (talk) 02:21, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

  • Just checked it; I'll send a reply. Thanks Grunny! WhiteBoy 12:15, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

We developed a procedure for this LONG ago. They'll be identified in the weekly roundup. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 01:22, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • OK, thanks. I'll check it out. WhiteBoy 01:27, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Blocked Edit

Are recently new users blocked from editing major pages.Master of the Force 20:09, November 28, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey WhiteBoy, I've answered this question on his talk page since you haven't been active in a while. :) Master Jonathan New Jedi Order (Jedi Council Chambers) 20:18, November 28, 2010 (UTC)
    • OK, thanks. WhiteBoy 22:15, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

Help Edit

Hey buddy, I started a wiki, but I have zero contributers. How do I get people to join? You started this, so tell me how you were able to find this on google. It would be bog help if you told me. And uh, don't say that you hardly know anythin' 'bout Star Wars. I bet you know more than I do. --AnyGuy 01:25, January 16, 2011 (UTC)

  • Riff was the main one that went out recruiting. He was involved in the other Star Wars communities much more than I. Basically he put the word out in all those related communities by posting on the their forums and other means. The people just started coming. I would say planning helped too; some of the ground rules were planned out, but a lot of it we had to address as the problems arose. Good luck. :) WhiteBoy 07:36, January 17, 2011 (UTC)

Blog Edit

How do I create a blog? Jim Logan The King of All Conduits Word Life! 21:36, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Unlike some other wikis on Wikia, Wookieepedia does not have blogs enabled as we focus on content. So you cannot create blogs on this wiki. Cheers, Grunny (talk) 22:53, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Resignation Edit

I need to officially resign my position of bureaucrat. I have passed the torch long ago to others for them to run the site. I have tried to keep tabs on things around here, but other things have taken precedence. (No, I don't even play WoW any more). :) I am not going anywhere, so you can still contact me via the site or other means. WhiteBoy 11:50, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey Chad. Thanks for hanging in with us while you could. The wiki is in good hands and we'll make sure it doesn't fall into that of the wicked imaginary cabal. ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 12:27, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
    • On this note then, I will perform the user rights removal myself. -- Riffsyphon1024 13:12, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
      • Heh.. it seems I don't have the access. You may have to undo your own user rights. -- Riffsyphon1024 13:15, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
        • Hey Chad. Per Riffs, we'll hold the fort :). I've removed the rights for you. Thanks for all your work here and I hope to see you around whenever you're able! :-) Cheers, grunny@wookieepedia:~$ 13:23, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
          • I have only this to be added after others: thank you for all the work for our little wiki. (: –Tm_T (Talk) 19:58, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
            • Per Tm. We all owe you a thanks for what you did to get this ball rolling; the Star Wars community as a whole is so much more because of this site. Cheers and best wishes, Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 20:16, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
  • Thanks all. :) Wish I could do more around here. WhiteBoy 11:36, August 17, 2011 (UTC)
    • Just saw this, it feels like the end of an era or something. Also, just wanted to point out the Bureaucrat tag on your userpage should probably be removed. Possibly with some pomp and ceremony (I suggest doing it to "Binary Sunset"). DD97Which bear is best? 20:44, September 4, 2011 (UTC)
      • Ah, thanks for the reminder. WhiteBoy 06:00, September 5, 2011 (UTC)

100, 000 Edit

Hey, Chad. I hope you're doing well. You've probably seen the header, but Wookieepedia now hosts 100,000 mainspace articles. Hard to believe? I write for our NewsNet account, which can be accessed on the Main Page, and I'm planning on writing an article reflecting on the history of Wookieepedia and how we got this far. I'm hoping that I can ask both you and Riff some questions about the Wook's founding and early days. The post would end up being something like this rather than a straight question-and-answer thing.

Let me know! I could ask you questions here or via e-mail. Thanks, and have a good day! Menkooroo (talk) 15:13, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • No problem. Email would probably work best for me. WhiteBoy (talk) 04:24, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
    • Thanks! Wikia was giving me some trouble with the 'e-mail this user' function, but I think I finally got it to work. If not, let me know. Menkooroo (talk) 04:05, January 18, 2013 (UTC)

  • My pleasure. I may have started it, but it would not have gone anywhere without many others. Enjoy the site, and happy editing. WhiteBoy (talk) 19:58, April 13, 2014 (UTC)

Ten years Edit

It's been a good ten years. Thanks to all who have built this site into what it is. Here's to another ten. WhiteBoy (talk) 22:49, March 4, 2015 (UTC)
