Uutkik was a Jawa scout[3] and a member of Nebit's clan.[2] In addition to being a scout,[3] Uutkik was also an experienced thief who pilfered equipment and hijacked vehicles from unwary bystanders in Mos Eisley,[1] a large spaceport on[4] the planet[5] Tatooine.[4] At one point during the Galactic Civil War,[1] a major galactic conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire,[2] Uutkik stood near a sandcrawler,[1] a treaded vehicle used by Jawas.[6]
In 0 BBY,[7] on Tatooine, with other members of Nebit's clan,[2] Uutkik peered at[3] astromech droid R2-D2 from behind a rock wall[2] in Jawa Canyon[8] after the droid was separated from his companion, C-3PO.[2] Uutkik had yellow eyes and wore a brown cloak.[1] They were the considered to be the ugliest cousin of Het Nkik,[1] a Jawa member of the Nkik Clan.[9]
Behind the scenes[]
Uutkik first appeared in the 1977 original trilogy film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[2] While first given a name in the 1998 Special Edition Limited expansion set for the Decipher Star Wars Customizable Card Game,[1] the card did not specify if the character appeared in the film. Uutkik was later retconned[10] into a Jawa that appeared in the film through the Visual Guide feature on StarWars.com on May 30, 2007.[3]
