"I was a pilot in the Ividal Sector Forces—Foxfire Squadron—when the Republic came calling. They had ground troops, but they needed their fighter squadrons over at Uvadala, so they came our way looking for dirt flyers."
Jorn Kulish[src]

Uvadala was an astronomical object[3] located in the Uvadala system, a part of the Ividal sector[1] in the Slice portion of[2] the Mid Rim.[1] At some point during the Clone Wars, Uvadala was the site of a military operation which saw the participation of several starfighter squadrons of the Galactic Republic.[3]

At the same time, the Republic intended to eliminate Separatist starfighter bases on Ongary IX. Since the Republic Military could not spare its squadrons dispatched at Uvadala, the Republic instead recruited the Foxfire Squadron of the local Ividal Sector Forces and its Z-95 Headhunters for the upcoming attack on Ongary IX.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Uvadala was originally meant to be mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the section that would have mentioned the celestial body was cut before the book's release.[3]

The information regarding Uvadala was later released in 2014 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and[3] Del Rey editor[4] Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare.[3] The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Uvadala system, and therefore the astronomical object Uvadala, in grid square P-15.[1]
