The V-120 artillery emplacement was an anti-vehicle weapon used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and later by the Resistance on the planet Crait.[1] The emplacements were armed with two heavy laser cannons for use against heavy armor, alongside another two medium laser cannons for additional firepower. The heavy laser cannons were mounted on a large semicircle rail that allowed the weapons to articulate left or right to a limited degree.
The emplacements seemed to be built into the outpost's trench network, and itself had viewports for troops to fire out of - akin to a pillbox bunker, or gather visual data for the gunners to aim and fire. The V-120 was used against the First Order during their attack on Crait, providing covering fire for the Resistance's counterattack against the First Order. While accurate and long ranged, they lacked the firepower necessary to siginificantly damage or slow down the attacking walkers. They were later destroyed after multiple attack runs against the outpost's defensive line from strafing TIEs.[3]
