The V-1 Thermal Detonator was a type of thermal detonator,[1] a powerful, grenade-like explosive device that could be carried in one hand.[2] It had a spherical gray shell, with small ridges along its surface. At one point, a V-1 Thermal Detonator was submerged underwater, in a location surrounded by algae.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The V-1 Thermal Detonator was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in a weapon upgrade card of the same name,[1] created for the 2018 Way of the Force booster pack set. The set was created for the Star Wars: Destiny card and dice game,[3] published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2016.[4] The card was illustrated by Lukasz Jaskolski.[1]
The V-1 Thermal Detonator originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, and first appeared, albeit unnamed, in Pandemic Studios' Star Wars: Battlefront video game,[5] published by LucasArts on September 21, 2004.[6] It was later identified in the Star Wars Battlefront: Prima Official Game Guide,[7] a strategy guide published by Prima Games on September 28, 2004.[8]
