A VLD2261 long-range heavy blaster defense battery was a type of blaster cannon. At least two such batteries defended the Grand Republic Medical Facility on Coruscant, where Darth Vader was reconstructed after his duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar. The facility's batteries were controlled by Red Guards.[1]
