«Who are you? What do you want here?»
«I came to see Vak art, and to thereby understand the Vak people. As to who we are—we are friends.»
―The Vak curator and Thrawn[1]

An art gallery was located on the planet of Primea, in the Unknown Regions Vak Combine nation.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] the Chiss Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, core name "Thrawn," and Caregiver Mitth'ali'astov, core name "Thalias," traveled to the gallery, as Thrawn wished to learn more about the Vak people and the general populace's feelings toward the Nikardun General Yiv—who hoped to subjugate the Vak Combine. However, the two Chiss were rejected by the gallery's curator, who claimed that the Vak had no friends, including the Chiss and the Nikardun.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Vak art gallery appeared in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
