The Valera system was located in the Southern Core portion of[2] the Colonies.[1] It contained the astronomical object Valera.[3] At some point between 19 BBY and 3 ABY,[4] an uprising against the Galactic Empire took place on Valera and was quelled by the Imperial Star Destroyer Stalker.[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Valera system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square L-13.[2]

  4. Planets of the Galaxy, Volume Three, which is set before the events of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, establishes that the uprising on Valera took place at some point following the establishment of the Galactic Empire. Since The New Essential Chronology places the latter in 19 BBY and the former in 3 ABY, the uprising must have occurred at some point between those two dates.
