"Space station Valor, this is Colonel Meebur Gascon. Can anyone hear me?"
―Meebur Gascon[1]

Valor was a space station that served within the military forces of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. At some point in the war, Valor was stationed in orbit of the planet Carida in the region known as the Colonies, where it was utilized as the site of a Republic strategy conference, where high-ranking military officers, including members of the Jedi Order's leading council, conferred to discuss the war and its procedures. However, the conference was instead haltered as a result of an attempt to destroy the space station launched by the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Valor was a space station situated in the orbit of the planet Carida of the star system of the same name,[1] within the regions known as the Colonies[2] and the Interior.[3] The space station was also equipped with a series of at least six hangar bays, as well as communications and scanning systems. On its interior, Valor retained a room designated for military strategy conferences, which possessed a holographic projection table within the center of a pit of staircases and seating areas for participants, as well as several projection screens which displayed a layout of the space station. It also possessed a series of viewports which provided the crew with a view of the surrounding space.[1]

History[]

Venator-I-FFG

A Venator I-class Star Destroyer patrols near Valor over Carida

At some point during the Clone Wars, fought between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, Valor was stationed in orbit of the planet Carida. While in the planet's orbit, the space station was protected by a force of several Venator-class Star Destroyers,[1] including at least one Venator I-class Star Destroyer,[5] and Arquitens-class light cruisers, as a result of the Republic's organization of a strategy conference. The conference, which was to discuss the ongoing war aboard Valor, was attended by several of high-ranking officers of the government's naval forces and Grand Army, including Jedi Generals Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, as well as Admirals Wilhuff Tarkin, Barton Coburn, and Clone Commanders CC-2224 and CC-8826.[1]

However, in an attempt to destroy Valor and hinder the strategy conference, the Confederacy launched a stolen Venator-class Star Destroyer, which the confederate government had loaded with several canisters of rhydonium, a highly explosive starship fuel, to the Carida system from the planet Abafar. Despite their efforts, the Republic astromech droid, R2-D2, of the commissioned D-Squad of droids, was able to prematurely detonate the Star Destroyer and its complement of rhydonium prior to reaching Valor, which resulted in damage dealt to the space station, and the destruction of a nearby Arquitens-class cruiser.[1]

Commanders and crew[]

Valor was maintained by a crew of several clone navigation officers.[1] It was also operated by Admiral Tarkin's R5 series astromech droid,[6] Z9.[1]
