Varl, also known as Varl Prime, was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy that was orbited by 3 moons.[3] Located within Hutt Space,[1] Varl was the original homeworld of the Hutt species,[5] who fled from Varl to escape the Kayfoundo Kapa.[3] It was connected to Saki and Nal Hutta by hyperspace routes, and positioned at the coordinates S-11[1] on the Standard Galactic Grid.[6] In 29 BBY,[7] the Pyke Baron Grott attempted to breed Kayfoundo Kapa on Varl's moon Black Rock for use as living weapons, but the creatures escaped and ran wild within the Varl system, culminating in the entire star system being quarantined.[3]
