- "The droid was sent to Vassek based on intel from a captured smuggler. It scanned a settlement on the planet for six weeks, recording conversations between local farmers."
- ―Viper 058-V-2353's report
Vassek was a terrestrial planet located in the Outer Rim's Wazta sector, within the Vassek system. It had three moons—one of which was Vassek 3. Vassek was relatively obscure by the time of the Clone Wars, though became less so following a confrontation between the Separatist General Grievous and a Galactic Republic task force on Vassek 3. During the Imperial Era, the Vassek farmer Roni made plans to steal Imperial generators. After viper probe droid Viper 058-V-2353's investigations on the world uncovered their plot, the farmer and two of their family members were arrested by an Imperial Security Bureau agent, and a report of the probe droid's endeavors was kept on a datapad.
Description[]
The terrestrial planet Vassek[3] was located in the Wazta sector's Vassek system, at Standard Galactic Grid square I-17. A small blue-and-green planet, it was one of many in the Outer Rim Territories that was named and noted, but[2] whose obscurity[4] and distance from the Koda Spur hyperspace route made it uninteresting to the galaxy. Vassek and those other Outer Rim planets offered no uncommonly found resources that could not be obtained easier elsewhere. The world was orbited by three moons, one of which was Vassek 3.[2]
History[]
- "A farmer named Roni expressed actionable plans to steal Imperial generators. An ISB agent was deployed and captured the suspect along with two adult members of the family."
- ―Viper 058-V-2353's Vassek investigation report

Grievous had a personal fortress on the moon of Vassek.
By the time of the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Vassek's moon—Vassek 3—was home to Separatist General Grievous's personal fortress.[1] In 21 BBY,[5] during the Clone Wars, a Republic task force traveled to Vassek 3 in search of the escaped Viceroy Nute Gunray.[1] Following[4] the Republic's confrontation with Grievous,[1] Vassek became less obscure.[4]
During the Imperial Era, the farmer Roni and their family lived on Vassek.[3] At some point by 3 ABY,[6] the farmer made plans to steal generators from the Galactic Empire; around the same time, a smuggler learned of the anti-Imperial sentiment on Vassek. Upon being captured by the Empire, the smuggler gave up their intel on Vassek, prompting the former to send the viper probe droid Viper 058-V-2353 to investigate. While on the world, the probe droid conducted surveillance on the local populace by spending six weeks recording conversations between farmers in a Vassek settlement. When Viper 058-V-2353 discovered Roni's plans to steal generators, an agent of the Imperial Security Bureau was dispatched to Vassek and arrested the farmer and two adult members of their family. After the endeavor, the probe droid left Vassek and returned to the Empire's Derosha Six space station, where a report of its investigation on the world was stored on a datapad.[3]
In 3 ABY,[6] the outlaw Kay Vess infiltrated Derosha Six and read the datapad mentioning Vassek while evading Imperial personnel.[3]
Inhabitants[]
During the Empire's reign, Vassek was home to a number of farmers.[3]
Locations[]
By 3 ABY,[6] a settlement was established on Vassek.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Vassek first appeared in the current Star Wars canon in "Lair of Grievous,"[1] the tenth episode of the first season of the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which aired on December 12, 2008. The planet was identified in the corresponding episode guide on StarWars.com.[7] The planet Vassek originally appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity in "The Clone Wars: The Dreams of General Grievous,"[8] a webcomic in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars webcomic series authored by Pablo Hidalgo[9] and published on December 10, 2008.[10]

Vassek was illustrated using a version of a piece of artwork also depicting other worlds, such as Rodia (pictured).
The depiction of Vassek in "Lair of Grievous" utilized a recolored version[1] of artwork used to depict several unidentified celestial bodies in Fierce Twilight,[11] a September 3, 2008[12] Star Wars Legends web browser game published on the official Cartoon Network website.[11] The artwork from Fierce Twilight was also used to illustrate[13] the planet Rodia[14] beginning with "Bombad Jedi,"[13] the eighth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars's first season that first aired on November 21, 2008,[15] as well as the planet Teth[14]—in 2010 in Legends[16] and from 2017[14] onward in the current canon.[17] In addition, a version of that same image sharing its color palette with the depiction of Vassek was used to illustrate the cover of "Republic and Separatist Ships (1),"[18] a November 2, 2021,[19] booklet of De Agostini's Star Wars Encyclopedia series. However, this articles refrains from assuming that the illustration depicts Vassek.[18]
