Velocities
Velocities were training drills used by students of lightsaber combat.
Velocities involved two students practicing sequences of attacks and parries against each other, repeating the same patterns over and over, while constantly increasing the speed of the movements until one opponent got hit, or decided to yield by saying "Solah".
Velocities were a standard part of Jedi training, and were practiced for an hour daily by younglings in the Jedi Temple. Each form used its own distinct velocities, all varying in movement and difficulty.
Form I velocities were simply based on horizontal, vertical, and diagonal sweeps, with basic parrying perpendicular to an enemy's attack. Six basic strikes and parries were used, making it an extremely simple form.
