Vo'ren Faalo was a male Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic as the Jedi Temple Battlemaster sometime before the rise of the Galactic Empire.

Biography

A Force-sensitive male, Vo'ren Faalo was trained in the ways of the Force by the Jedi Order, attaining the rank of Jedi Master. Appointed as the battlemaster of the Coruscant Jedi Temple by the Jedi High Council, Faalo was regarded as one of the most proficient instructors of his time.[1] During his time as battlemaster, Faalo authored the Book of Practical Lightsaber Technique. In his book, he detailed a series of training cadences in which a Jedi attempted to manipulate small steel bearings atop candles with their lightsabers.[2] He also described a telekinetic lightsaber technique, which would be later named "Faalo's Will" after him.[3]

Legacy

Long after Faalo's physical death, his teachings lived on in the Jedi Order for several centuries. Despite the Great Jedi Purge of 19 BBY, Faalo's teachings were remembered by survivors such as an Unidentified Jedi and Adalric Cessius Brandl who passed the cadences on to his student Fable Astin.[4] Additionally, former Jedi-turned-Sith Lord Darth Vader's ASP-19 training droids were rumored to be programmed with Faalo's personal lightsaber training techniques, taken from a Jedi holocron.[5]
