- "I've seen Imperial cruisers destroyed in the Nebulas of Osssorck; fought my way through the dust storms of Voniss; stared down Dark Grahn's mercenary army; now, all I can stare down is the bottom of a bottle of cheap wine, kid."
- ―A gunfighter
Voniss was an astronomical object located in the Voniss system, a part of the freestanding subsectors portion of the Mid Rim. The meteorological phenomena of the celestial body included dust storms.
During the Galactic Civil War, an aging yet legendary gunfighter resided in the city of Buerhoz on the Outer Rim Territories' planet Clak'dor VII. When a group of individuals encountered the gunfighter at Buerhoz, he claimed to have fought his way through the dust storms of Voniss.
Behind the scenes
Voniss was mentioned in "A Fistful of Credits," a roleplaying game adventure written by Bill Olmesdahl and included in the 1992 supplement Star Wars Gamemaster Screen for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Voniss system, and therefore the celestial body itself, in grid square I-7.
