"Four of the Z-95s were destroyed with no survivors, though one Headhunter is unaccounted for, but is believed to have succumbed to the gravity well of nearby Vuchelle and burned up on reentry."

Vuchelle was a planet in the Vuchelle system of the Atrivis sector of the Outer Rim Territories. In 22 BBY, a battle between the Pirates of Iridium and a Jedi-led force of the Galactic Republic was fought above the planet. Although suffering some losses, the Jedi task force triumphed, wiping out the pirate threat.

Vuchelle was an orange planet[2] located in the Vuchelle system of the Atrivis sector, a small sector of space located in the Outer Rim Territories. It was located on the Braxant Run—an important route through the New Territories—near the borders of the Atrivis, Cademimu and Cassander sectors.[1]

"Sensor reports from the Atrivis sector issued by the Judicial Department confirm that a Jedi task force has thrashed the space pirates of Iridium, bringing an end to their year-long raids along the Atrivis sector routes."
HoloNet News[src]

In the year 22 BBY, a Galactic Republic taskforce traveled to Vuchelle's star system in order to negotiate with the Pirates of Iridium. Based on the planet Iridium, the pirate organization had been raiding Republic shipments of grain and spice, apparently working as privateers for nearby Separatist forces. The taskforce comprised the Republic cruiser Monitor III, and was supported by six of the newly released Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptors led by Jedi Knights Belsed-Qan Idan and Kit Fisto.[2]

The intended negotiations never got underway, as the pirates attacked the Republic forces even as Idan was trying to parley. Despite the pirates utilizing their power gems to disrupt the Monitor III's shields and significantly damage the cruiser—killing two Jedi Knights and four Republic Judiciaries—the Jedi starfighters were able to disable the pirates' three Warpod pinnaces, and then move on to attack their two Longprow attack cruisers. After overloading the Longprows' shields and destroying their engines, the Republic taskforce also destroyed all but one of the pirates' attacking Z-95 Headhunters. The last of these fighters was believed to have been caught in Vuchelle's gravity well and burned up on re-entry, as reported by HoloNet News.[2]

Vuchelle fell within the borders of the Pentastar Alignment between the years 4 ABY and 12 ABY.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Vuchelle was created for an in-universe news article for the website HoloNet News, written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens in the build up to the release of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. The planet was illustrated by Joe Corroney. It was later included in The Essential Atlas.
