"What I do is facilitate the movement of certain products from the hands of those who make it into the hands of those who want it. It's not always pretty, but it's necessary."
―Vuul Sarlin, to a spacer[1]

Vuul Sarlin was a male Zabrak spice dealer boss who lived on the planet Corellia during the Galactic Civil War.

Biography[]

"Menchi buys ryll from Vuul. Vuul Sarlin. He's Menchi's friend. Jaylon knows where to find Vuul. Jaylon is another of Menchi's friends. Ask Jaylon how to find Vuul."
Menchi Lerann, to a spacer[1]

By the time following the Battle of Yavin, Vuul Sarlin was leading a group of spice dealers in the city of Kor Vella. Jaylon Geissler served as his right-hand. The group owned a warehouse in Kor Vella to stock the ryll spice distributed in the city. The spice was provided by a gang of ryll smugglers. For security reasons, Vuul Sarlin and his men ignored everything about this ryll smuggling ring, that was in fact the Chirq Council, best known as the Red Circle Gang. They had only one contact among the ryll smugglers, Ladonna Poe, who provided the ryll from a bunker in the Vella plains nearby.[1]

In 1 ABY,[2] the Corellian Security Force started an investigation against the ryll smuggling ring following the increase of spice traffic in Kor Vella. A spacer working for Lieutenant Cope questioned a local spice addict known as Menchi Lerann. The man revealed that he bought his ryll from Vuul Sarlin and Jaylon Geissler. The spacer later interrogated Geissler but the spice dealer obviously refused to collaborate. However, after the spacer started to destroy some spice crates in the ryll warehouse, Jaylon Geissler reluctantly accepted to give Vuul Sarlin's current location: a small camp in the plains outside Kor Vella. The spacer therefore attacked the camp and defeated Vuul Sarlin's guards. Sarlin was forced to reveal everything he knew about the ryll smuggling ring.[1] In return, the spacer agreed with removing Sarlin's name from the smuggling ring's database.[3] The CorSec later assaulted the Ryll Smuggler Bunker and discovered the existence of the Red Circle Gang.[1] The CorSec investigation eventually led to the disbandment of the Chirq Council.[4]

  2. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
