Several models of walkers used by the Galactic Empire

Walkers were armored cavalry vehicles that moved on mechanical legs.[1] They could comprise anywhere between two[2] and twelve legs.[3] They were used by the Galactic Republic,[4] the Galactic Empire, the Rebel Alliance,[5], the New Republic,[6] the Imperial remnants: the Imperial territory G5-623,[6] the Visler Korda's faction,[7] and the Jakku Imperial remnant,[8] and the First Order.[9]

The AT-AP was a three-legged walker initially used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars.[10] They were later used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire.[5]

All Terrain Tactical EnforcerEdit


All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE)

The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) was a hexapodal walker used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. The walker had six laser cannon turrets, a heavy projectile mass-driver cannon, and legs that could be magnetized to climb up and down walls.[11][12]

The All Terrain Recon Transport (AT-RT) was a small bipedal walker used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. The walker had an open cockpit, and a single chin-mounted laser cannon. Two of these could be stored in the back of an AT-TE.

The All Terrain Open Transport (AT-OT) was an octapodal walker used by the Galactic Republic toward the end of the Clone Wars.[10] Its open top allowed it to transport more troopers across the battlefield.[12]

Mechs were a type of walker that served as war machines for the faction of the Open during the Open-Closed War. Equipped with gatling slugthrowers, the mechs of the planet Carnelion IV were put to effective use during the mission to Carnelion IV in 29 BBY by the leader of the Open, Mother Pran.[14]

The All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) was a quadrupedal walker used by the Galactic Empire after the fall of the Galactic Republic.[18] With a height of over 22 meters,[19] the walker relied heavily on intimidation.[20]

The All Terrain Armored Cargo Transport (AT-ACT)[21] was a quadrupedal walker used by the Galactic Empire that featured a dedicated cargo bed for the transportation of heavy building materials or combat munitions.[22] These vehicles shared a similar design with the AT-AT except that they were larger to accommodate storage space and featured less weaponry.

The All Terrain Defense Pod (AT-DP) was a bipedal walker used by the Galactic Empire primarily for patrols and scouting missions.[23] The walker could seat two crew members; a driver and a gunner.[24] A variant of the AT-DP was the AT-DP Arc Cannon Prototype, which carried the Arc Pulse Generator, a superweapon.[25]

The All Terrain Scout Transport (AT-ST) was a bipedal walker used by the Empire as means to eliminate smaller forces.[26] They were often deployed along with the larger AT-ATs to back them up and eliminate smaller forces.[27] The AT-ST had a more heavily-armored variant known as the AT-ST Mark III.[5]

The AT-PT was a bipedal walker used by the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War, against the Rebel Alliance.[12]




The Scuttler was a prototype walker used by the Visler Korda's faction during the Galactic Civil War.[7]

Sometime after the Battle of Jakku, the First Order, a military organization led by Supreme Leader Snoke, developed a model of four-legged All Terrain Mobile Artillerys.[9] These walkers were used by the First Order in defense of Starkiller Base.[30]

Mobile assault walker

The mobile assault walker was a bipedal walker large enough to carry a single First Order stormtrooper. The walker had three color variations; a forest green camouflage with yellow emblems on the body and feet of the walker,[32] and a desert themed deco which consisted of sandy brown and tan colors, along with a bright-red color in place of the yellow swashes.[33] The third variant consisted of a gun-metal gray exterior without colored embosses.[34]

The Urban Assault Triped Transport was a First Order walker used for pacification operations. In order to use heavy machinery in an urban area, the First Order deploys UA-TT walkers as opposed to the larger, heavier AT-M6 walkers. This is done so the city in question is not destroyed during occupation.[35]
