Wasser Barer was a Quarren who lived at the time of the blockade of Naboo. He was one of the racers that were enlisted for a pod race on the planet Malastare, participating in the Vinta Harvest Classic. Over the first few races, he qualified for Malastare's final race through the methane deserts to race alongside experienced pilots such as Dug Sebulba and Mawhonic, with Sebulba finally winning the race.
