Cade Bane firing a whipcord from his wrist gauntlet.

The whipcord launcher was a piece of equipment that shot out a length of cord, with the intention of tangling up opponents and preventing them from moving.[1] The bounty hunter Jango Fett and his clone son[2] Boba Fett both used whipcord throwers mounted on their wrists.[3] Cad Bane also had a whipcord thrower built into his right wrist gauntlet.[4] Grappling Troopers of Death Watch used whipcords to capture and imprison enemies.[5] Members of the Nite Owls[6] and the bounty hunter Din Djarin also utilized whipcords.[7]

While battling on Kamino, Jango Fett used his whipcord thrower to drag Obi-Wan Kenobi around on the platform they were on. Boba Fett used it to wrap up Luke Skywalker during the brawl on Jabba's Skiff. Din Djarin used the whipcord to tie up Ahsoka Tano during their brief fight in the woods of Corvus. Ahsoka Tano also had the whipcord thrower used on her when the Death Watch used it to capture her, and later have her tied up while preparing to execute her. Cad Bane used the whipcord thrower to save Obi-Wan Kenobi who was disguised as Rako Hardeen in The Box.
