"You wouldn't survive an hour out there, little brother, not without running back to Mother with a dripping nose and frozen toes."
―Weechee[1]

The mother of Wicket Wystri Warrick[1]—who was born in 7 BBY[3]—was an Ewok female. A part of Bright Tree tribe in Bright Tree Village on the Forest Moon of Endor, the Ewok, along with the Ewok Deej, parented four children: Weechee, Widdle Warrick, Wicket Warrick, and Winda.[1] The mother encouraged Wicket to try new foods, indicating he might not know he liked something without trying it.[4]

One winter[1] between 1 BBY and 4 ABY,[5] when food was scarce, Wicket used his mother's ground-apple stock to thicken a stew's broth. That winter, Weechee also noted to Wicket that he did not think the young Ewok could survive an hour without running back to his mother.[1]

Shortly after the Battle of Endor[2] in 4 ABY,[6] some of the Bright Tree tribe, including the mother, held a gathering with the tribe's neighbors in Bright Tree Village to decide the forest's future, in which the Ewok spent time with their family. The mother had light gray fur and donned a red cowl.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Wicket Wystri Warrick's mother first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2021 children's reference book The Star Wars Book of Monsters, Ooze and Slime, which was written by Katie Cook.[4] The mother then made their first appearance in the fourth issue of the 2024 Star Wars: Ewoks comic-book series, which was written by Steve Orlando, illustrated by Laura Braga and Álvaro López,[2] and published on January 29, 2025.[7] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, Wicket Wystri Warrick's mother was named Shodu and first appeared in the 1984 television film Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure.[8] She was then given the last name "Warrick" in 2008's The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.[9]
