Wilk was a wolf from the forest moon of Endor. He was born a mutant and somehow acquired the ability to speak.

Biography

Wilk was born on the Forest moon of Endor during the height of the Old Republic. His mother was a normal wolf, but Wilk was born with a genetic defect, making him a mutant and unique among the wolves on Endor. As a result, he was abandoned by his mother. He was eventually taught how to speak by the hermit, Bloch, who also taught him several other things about the surrounding world. Eventually, Wilk left Endor and paired up with El Borak his companion in his travels through the galaxy. At some point, the two friends came into contact with the insane Doctor Ames, who brought them along on a dangerous quest.

Personality and traits

Wilk was an incredibly large wolf, weighing almost 300 kilograms and growing to a height of 1.3 meters. He was also incredibly long-lived for a wolf, as he was thirty-three years old as of the Battle of Yavin. Wilk spoke with a very refined style, and those that met him were initially shocked by his proper speech. However, Wilk sometimes played the part of a simple animal companion when certain situations called for it. Wilk also had a basic grasp of technology, and he was the first of his kind to have destroyed a TIE fighter in space combat. Wilk was usually friendly with a good sense of humor, but he could become incredibly violent when someone he liked was attacked. In these confrontations, Wilk was known to use his large claws as formidable weapons.

Behind the scenes

Wilk appeared in dossier BXLH: Les mutants dans Star Wars (Translated File BXLH: The mutants in Star Wars) a roleplaying article in the French magazine Graal 23. Published in 1990, the article was written under the pseudonym "Haufe the ugly little Ewok." The roleplaying statistics provided were compatible with the roleplaying game created by West End Games. Wilk means wolf in Polish.[1]
