This subpage contains instructions on how to archive past Comprehensive Article nominations. The archived votes can be found here.

Successful nominations[]

Once an article has a total of three EduCorps votes or two EduCorps votes and three user votes after at least one week (or four EduCorps votes after at least 48 hours) and no outstanding objections, the article can be officially known as a "comprehensive article." This table can be used to determine if an article is eligible to be removed from the Comprehensive article nominations page:

Time elapsed Day 1
24 hours
Day 2
48 hours
Day 3
72 hours
Day 4
96 hours
Day 5
120 hours
Day 6
144 hours
Day 7
168 hours
More than 168 hours (more than one week)
Required votes
Cannot pass
Can pass with four EduCorps votes
Can pass with three EduCorps votes or at least five votes, of which at least two must be EduCorps votes
  • Ensure that the EduCorps approval template has been added. If not, add the following to the Comments section:
{{ECapproved|~~~~~}}
  • Remove {{CAnom}} from article page and add "ca" to {{Top}}.
  • Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated, and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{CAnom}} was added. The second date is the date that the article was given CA status, and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the CA circle was added. For example, on Holding Back the Tide the first ID is 3185636 and the second ID is 3201624.

  • Paste this onto the user talk page of the nominator:
{{Subst:CA notify|article name|~~~~}}

Failed nominations[]

Nominations that are inactive with outstanding objections after one week may be eliminated from the nomination list with a consensus of at least 3 EC support votes. This consensus of 3 support votes may alternatively be obtained from present users in IRC.

CANs may be closed prematurely with a consensus of at least 3 EC support votes if they fall below the required standard and cannot realistically be fixed. This consensus of at least 3 EC support votes may alternatively be obtained from present users in IRC, in which case a note will be left on the CAN page that the nomination has been removed via EC consensus.

Any nomination may be closed early at the request of the original nominator without the need for a consensus. Additionally, nominations in violation of rules 9 and 10 of the "How to nominate" section of the Comprehensive article nominations page should be immediately removed without need for consensus or archiving.

Voting to remove[]

To initiate a vote to remove a nomination, add the following under the CAN's comments section:

===Vote to remove nomination (EC only)===

The EduCorps member who initiates the vote should state clearly why the nomination should be removed. All EduCorps members should use the {{EC}} template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose removing the nomination.

Removing failed nominations[]

  • Remove {{CAnom}} from article page.
  • Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated, and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{CAnom}} was added (for articles nominated during the trial period, the corresponding ID should be the revision that was "current" as of the date/time of nomination). The second date is the date that the nomination was removed, and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when {{CAnom}} was removed.

  • Add article to CAN history, giving start and end dates (yyyy/mm/dd) and outcome with link to archived vote.

Overriding CAN objections[]

EduCorps members have the power to strike objections on the Comprehensive Article nomination page provided the objection has been addressed and the original objector has been absent for at least a week after an "objection addressed" comment is left on the CA nom page. This requires a quorum of at least 2 EduCorps members approving the removal of the objection, and less than 2 opposed. Additionally, CAN objections can be struck by an EduCorps member (as well as by any admin) if they do not fall under one of the rules. No vote is required.

To initiate a vote to override an objection, add the following under the CAN's comments section:

====Vote to strike objection (EC only)====

The EduCorps member who initiates the vote should state clearly which objection needs striking and why. All EduCorps members should use the {{EC}} template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose overriding the objection.

When the decision has been taken to override an objection, add the following as a comment under the objection, in addition to striking it:

{{Ecstrike|~~~~~}}

CA status review[]

The EduCorps has the ability to strip an article of CA status.

Probation[]

With the approval of at least 3 EduCorps members and less than 2 opposed, an article being considered for removal of CA status can be placed on probation as follows:

  • Add {{CAcleanup}} to the top of the article. If the article has already undergone probation one or more times, add the number of the probation as a parameter, i.e. {{CAcleanup|second}}.
  • Follow the redlink in the above template to the probation page, which should have preloaded the header and sections.
  • List the issues that need rectifying under "Things to do" and state the meeting at which the article was placed on probation under "Removal of CA status."

After a probation period of at least two weeks, a second EduCorps vote is required to decide whether or not to remove CA status. This vote requires 3 EduCorps members to agree on the outcome, with less than 2 disagreeing.

Keeping CA status[]

If CA status is kept:

  • Remove {{CAcleanup}} from article page
  • Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated for removal and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{CAcleanup}} was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the revision as of the date and time of nomination). The second date is the date that the removal nomination was archived and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when {{CAcleanup}} was removed. Using a GA as an example, on Zayne Carrick the first ID is 1982312 and the second ID is 2059191.

  • On the EduCorps probation page, state the meeting at which the article's CA status was kept under "Removal of CA status."
  • Change the category on the probation page to:
[[Category:Wookieepedia Comprehensive article probation pages archive]]

Removing CA status[]

If CA status is removed:

  • Remove {{CAcleanup}} from article page and change "ca" to "fca" in {{Top}}
  • Add the following to talk page (replacing {{Ahf|status=CA}}) with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated for removal and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{CAcleanup}} was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the revision as of the date and time of nomination). The second date is the date that the article was stripped of CA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the CA circle was removed. Using a GA as an example, on Missile Boat the first ID is 2056762 and the second ID is 2095534.

  • Replace {{CA}} with {{FormerCA}} on the talk page.
  • On the EduCorps probation page, state the meeting at which the article's CA status was removed under "Removal of CA status."
  • Change the category on the probation page to:
[[Category:Wookieepedia Comprehensive article probation pages archive]]

Reduxing CAs[]

The EduCorps Redux process is an active extension of EduCorps meetings, wherein Comprehensive articles that have been updated, rewritten, or otherwise overhauled so significantly as to require a review of a section or of the entire article are placed. Articles that are Reduxed will be given reviews by EduCorps members, and when the required number of votes in favor of the article being passed are acquired, the article will pass its Redux review and will retain its Comprehensive status.

If a CA is decided to undergo a Redux review on the CAN page, do this:

  • Add {{CAredux}} to the top of the reduxed CA. If the article is already under probation, replace {{CAcleanup}} with {{CAredux}}. If the article has already undergone Redux one or more times, add the number of the Redux as a parameter, i.e. {{CAredux|second}}. However, if this is the article's first Redux, leave the parameter blank. If the article has already undergone probation one or more times, add the number of the probation as a parameter, i.e. {{CAredux|probation=second}}. However, if this is the article's first probation, leave the parameter blank.
  • Follow the redlink to create the Redux page, which should have preloaded the relevant sections.
  • If the article is already under probation (the link to the probation page in {{CAredux}} is blue):
    • Follow the link to the probation page and state the meeting at which the article was Reduxed under "Removal of CA status."
    • Add the following above the Comments section:
===Redux review===
*[[Wookieepedia:Comprehensive article nominations/article name (Redux review)]]
  • If the article is not already under probation (the link to the probation page in {{CAredux}} is red):
    • Follow the redlink to the probation page.
    • Create the page with the following:
<div class="darkbackground1" style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">'''[[Main Page|Wookieepedia]] &gt; [[Wookieepedia:EduCorps]] &gt; {{PAGENAME}}'''</div>
[[Category:Wookieepedia Comprehensive article probation pages]]

<!-- write after this line, please -->
==[[Article name]]==
===Removal of CA status===
*Reduxed at <meeting number>. ~~~~

===Redux review===
*[[Wookieepedia:Comprehensive article nominations/article name (Redux review)]]

===Comments===
  • Add {{/article name (Redux review)}} to the bottom of the CAN page.

Keeping CA status following Redux[]

When the article has received three supporting votes from EduCorps members and has no outstanding objections, do this:

  • Remove {{CAredux}} from the Reduxed page.
  • Add the following code to the article talk page (replacing {{Ahf|status=CA}}):
{{Ahm
|date=Probation date
|oldid=Probation ID
|process=CAR
|result=Kept
}}
{{Ahm
|date={{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}, {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}
|link=Wookieepedia:EC/{{Subst:PAGENAME}}
|process=CA
|oldid=Kept ID
}}
{{Ahf|status=CA}}
  • Follow the link to the probation page.
    • Change the probation page's category to [[Category:Wookieepedia Comprehensive article probation pages archive]]
    • On the probation page, state the date on which the article's CA status was kept under "Removal of CA status."
  • Follow the link to the Redux page
    • Add this line to the top of the Redux page: {{subst:CAredux archive|kept}}
    • Remove this line from the bottom of the Redux page: <noinclude>[[Category:Wookieepedia Comprehensive article Redux pages]]</noinclude>
    • Add this line to the bottom of the Redux page: </div>
  • Remove {{/article name (Redux review)}} from the CAN page.

Removing CA status following Redux[]

If the article fails Redux review, due to 10-day-old unaddressed objections, and with the support of at least three EduCorps members, do this:

  • Remove {{CAredux}} from the Reduxed page and change "ca" to "fca" in {{Top}}.
  • Add the following code to the article talk page (replacing {{Ahf|status=CA}}):
{{Ahm
|date=Probation date
|oldid=Probation ID
|process=CAR
|result=Removed
}}
{{Ahm
|date={{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}, {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}
|link=Wookieepedia:EC/{{subst:PAGENAME}}
|process=FCA
|oldid=Removed ID
}}
{{Ahf|status=FCA}}
  • Replace {{CA}} with {{FormerCA}} on the talk page. A parameter can be used if the EC probation page differs from the article name.
  • Follow the link to the probation page.
    • Change the probation page's category to [[Category:Wookieepedia Comprehensive article probation pages archive]]
    • On the probation page, state the date on which the article's CA status was removed under "Removal of CA status."
  • Follow the link to the Redux page
    • Add this line to the top of the Redux page: {{subst:CAredux archive|lost}}
  • Remove article from Wookieepedia:Comprehensive articles.

Striking items from the meeting agenda[]

To remove an item from a future meeting agenda, a consensus of three ECs is needed. This can be achieved via IRC or using the meeting page itself. If you use the meeting page, format it like this:

*[[Article]] - update needed. --ExampleUser1
**Updated. --ExampleUser2
***'''Vote to remove article from meeting agenda (EC only)'''
***{{EC}} ~~~~

When three ECs have signed, the article can be struck from the agenda.
