Barpotomous Drebble

  • Nomination comments: Trying to restore this article to FA, as it was only minor issues that got it de-FAd, as I understand it. Cull Tremayne 06:01, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

Can you find a source for Billy Dee having advertised Colt 45? A youtube video'd probably do it. Also, maybe add "the actor who played Lando in Empire and Jedi" after you mention Billy Dee? Menkooroo 02:50, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

Takes me back to the good old days...
  • A marginal explanation of what a skifter is and its significance might be in order.
    • Added.
  • "Seemed to escalate" and otherlikewise statements could probably be tweaked and made a bit more solid, if it's just going off your interpretations.
    • Good point. I removed most, if not all, the seemed statements. :S
  • "Immediately after this promotion, Lemo and Sanda's gang accosted Captain Drebble about the whereabouts of an expensive artifact, the Dancing Goddess." - Is "accosted" the right word there?
    • They confronted him and demanded the statue. Can't accost be used that way? I could change it to "confronted" if that still sounds weird.
  • "Barpotomous Drebble was a large man who enjoyed the finer things." - Bit too informal.
    • Reworded "finer things".
  • "Although he possessed a sense of style, Drebble was not a very apt fighter in hand to hand combat, and he was genuinely shocked and dismayed when one of his subordinates lashed out at him, punching him in the face." - What does one have to do with the other?
    • What is nothing, Alex? Reworded.
  • More "seemed" stuff. Cull, Cull. :P
    • I am ashamed, utterly ashamed.
  • Tis all.

  • "It was on Cloud City that Drebble became acquainted with Lando Calrissian. Drebble had first met Calrissian on his homeworld where he would later claim that Calrissian had cheated him." You seem to have reverse chronological order here. Would it not make more sense to say he encountered Lando on the Hunter's World, and then re-encountered him on Bespin?
    • Yeah, that is a little confusing. Reworded. Cull Tremayne 22:33, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • "Drebble's anger against Calrissian seemed to grow." Seemed, per 4Dot.
    • Gone.
  • "a newly reprogrammed IG-88A." You have this sourced to Marvel, but surely there needs to be another source that identifies the particular incarnation of IG-88 has changed. Either that, or you should add a footnote about why this must be a different model based on events in other sources.
    • I just added a citation for NEGtC which clarifies it, but if you think a written-out explanation needs to be added, I can do that.
  • Do we know that Lady Luck occurs prior to The Hero? Calrissian has Cobra at this point, whereas he had lost it in Lady Luck. Either way, I'd like to see some discussion of this in the BTS or a footnote.
    • The Hero takes place after RotJ, so isn't it impossible for Lady Luck to take place after it, since it deals with how Lando gets Cloud City? Cull Tremayne 22:33, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
  • "when one of his subordinates lashed out at him, punching him in the face." Earlier on you suggest this was a patron of the tavern not one of his subordinates. Which is it?
    • It's sort of both. Basically all the people in the bar are trying to claim the bounty that he spontaneously announces on Calrissian. So he's a patron, but also working for him. Does this need to be reworded?
  • Can we get an explanation in the BTS as to how/when Lady Luck becames canonical from its original Tales/Infinities status?
    • Sure, I can do that.
  • That's all from me. --Eyrezer 22:53, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
    • Thanks for the review. Sorry for the wait. Cull Tremayne 22:33, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
