This subpage contains instructions on how to archive past Featured article nominations, as well as how to set up and archive probations and Redux reviews.

Successful nominations[]

Once the minimum nomination period has passed, an article that has achieved the required number of supporting votes and has no outstanding objections will be officially known as a "Featured article." A nomination will be considered successful if one of the following criteria is met:

  • five supporting Inquisitor votes and no outstanding objections after at least a week;
  • four supporting Inquisitor votes, plus two additional supporting votes and no outstanding objections after at least a week;
  • three supporting Inquisitor votes, plus four additional supporting votes and no outstanding objections after at least a week; or
  • seven supporting Inquisitor votes and no outstanding objections after at least two days.

This table can be used to determine if an article is eligible to be removed from the Featured article nominations page:

Can pass with 7 Inqvotes
Can pass with the following vote counts:
  • 5 Inquisitorius votes
  • 6 votes, of which 4 must be Inqvotes
  • 7 or more votes, of which 3 must be Inqvotes
  • Ensure the Inquisitorius approval template has been added. If not, add the following to the comments section:
{{Inqapproved|~~~~~}}
  • Remove {{FAnom}} from article page and add "fa" to {{Top}}
  • Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{FAnom}} was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the first revision after it was nominated). The second date is the date that the article was given FA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the FA star was added. For example, on Maarek Stele the first ID is 1547634 and the second ID is 1574797.

Failed nominations[]

Nominations that are inactive with outstanding objections for 2 weeks can be eliminated from the nominations list by the Inquisitorius. FANs can be closed prematurely if they fall below the required standard and cannot realistically be fixed. Doing so requires a quorum of at least 3 Inquisitors approving the removal of the nomination, and less than 2 opposed. Any Inquisitor can prematurely close a FAN without the need for a vote if it is requested by the nominator.

Voting to remove[]

To initiate a vote to remove a nomination, add the following under the FAN's comments section:

===Vote to remove nomination (Inq only)===

The Inquisitor who initiates the vote should state clearly why the nomination should be removed. All Inquisitors should use the {{Inq}} template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose removing the nomination.

Removing failed nominations[]

To remove a failed nominee from the FAN page:

  • Remove {{FAnom}} from article page.
The second date is the date that the vote was closed the corresponding ID is that of the revision when {{FAnom}} was removed. For example, on Massacre at Ossus the first ID is 2053906 and the second ID is 2086487.

  • Paste this into nom archive page ((the "Failed featured article candidate" link that will appear in the above template):
{{subst:FA archive|unsuccessful}}
  • Remove this line from the bottom of the nomination page.
<noinclude>[[Category:Featured article nominations|{{SUBPAGENAME}}]]</noinclude>
  • Add this line to the bottom of the nomination page.
</div>
  • Remove the appropriate transcluded nomination template from the FAN page.
  • Add article to FAN history, giving start and end dates (yyyy/mm/dd) and outcome with link to archived vote.

Overriding FAN objections[]

Inquisitors have the power to strike objections on the Featured Article nomination page provided the objection has been addressed and the original objector has been absent for at least a week after an "objection addressed" comment is left on the FA nom page, but only with a quorum of at least 3 Inquisitors approving the removal of the objection, and less than 2 opposed. Additionally, FA objections can be struck by an Inquisitor (as well as by any admin) if they do not fall under one of the rules. No vote is required.

To initiate a vote to override an objection, add the following under the FAN's comments section:

'''Vote to strike objection (Inq only)'''

The Inquisitor who initiates the vote should state clearly which objection needs striking and why. All Inquisitors should use the {{Inq}} template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose overriding the objection.

When the decision has been taken to override an objection, add the following as a comment under the objection, in addition to striking it:

{{Inqstrike|~~~~~}}

FA status review[]

The Inquisitorius has the ability to strip an article of FA status.

Probation[]

With the approval of at least 4 Inquisitors and less than 2 opposed, an article being considered for removal of FA status can be placed on probation as follows:

  • Add {{FAcleanup}} to the top of the article. If the article has already undergone probation one or more times, add the number of the probation as a parameter, i.e. {{FAcleanup|second}}.
  • Follow the redlink in the above template to the probation page, which should have preloaded the header and sections.
  • List the issues that need rectifying under "Things to do" and state the meeting at which the article was placed on probation under "Removal of FA status".

After a probation period of at least two weeks, a second Inquisitor vote is required to decide whether or not to remove FA status. This vote requires 4 Inquisitors to agree on the outcome, with less than 2 disagreeing.

Keeping FA status[]

If FA status is kept:

  • Remove {{FAcleanup}} from article page
  • Add the following to talk page (replacing {{Ahf|status=FA}}) with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was placed on probation and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when {{FAcleanup}} was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the first revision after it was nominated). The second date is the date that the article was taken off probation and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when {{FAcleanup}} was removed. For example, on Zayne Carrick the first ID is 1982312 and the second ID is 2059191.

|link=Wookieepedia:Inq/{{subst:PAGENAME}}
|process=FA

{{Ahf|status=FA}}
  • On the Inquisitorius probation page, state the meeting at which the article's FA status was kept under "Removal of FA status".
  • Change the category on the Inquisitorius probation page to:
[[Category:Wookieepedia Featured article probation pages archive]]

Removing FA status[]

If FA status is removed:

  • Remove {{FAcleanup}} from article page and change "fa" to "ffa" in {{Top}}
The second date is the date that the article was stripped of FA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the FA star was removed. For example, on Missile Boat the first ID is 2056762 and the second ID is 2095534.
{{Ahm
|date=Probation date
|oldid=Probation ID
|process=FAR
|result=Removed
}}
{{Ahm
|date={{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTDAY}}, {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}
|link=Wookieepedia:Inq/{{subst:PAGENAME}}
|process=FFA
|oldid=Removed ID
}}
{{Ahf|status=FFA}}
  • Replace {{FA}} with {{FormerFA}} on the talk page. A parameter can be used if the Inquisitorius probation page differs from the article name.
  • On the Inquisitorius probation page, state the meeting at which the article's FA status was removed under "Removal of FA status".
  • Change the category on the Inquisitorius probation page to:
[[Category:Wookieepedia Featured article probation pages archive]]

Reduxing FAs[]

The Inquisitorius Redux process is an active extension of Inquisitorius meetings, wherein Featured articles that have been updated, rewritten, or otherwise overhauled so significantly as to require a review of a section or of the entire article are placed. Articles that are Reduxed will be given reviews by Inquisitorius members, and when the required number of votes in favor of the article being passed are acquired, the article will pass its Redux review and will retain its Featured status.

If an FA is decided to undergo a Redux review on the FAN page, do this:

  • Add {{FAredux}} to the top of the reduxed FA. If the article is already under probation, replace {{FAcleanup}} with {{FAredux}}. If the article has already undergone Redux one or more times, add the number of the Redux as a parameter, i.e. {{FAredux|second}}. However, if this is the article's first Redux, leave the parameter blank. If the article has already undergone probation one or more times, add the number of the probation as a parameter, i.e. {{FAredux|probation=second}}. However, if this is the article's first probation, leave the parameter blank.
  • Follow the redlink to create the Redux page, which should have preloaded the relevant sections.
  • If the article is already under probation (the link to the probation page in {{FAredux}} is blue):
    • Follow the link to the probation page and state the meeting at which the article was Reduxed under "Removal of FA status."
    • Add the following above the Comments section:
===Redux review===
*[[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (Redux review)]]
  • If the article is not already under probation (the link to the probation page in {{FAredux}} is red):
    • Follow the redlink to the probation page.
    • Create the page with the following:
<div class="darkbackground1" style="background:#EEEEEE; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">'''[[Main Page|Wookieepedia]] &gt; [[Wookieepedia:Inquisitorius]] &gt; {{PAGENAME}}'''</div>
[[Category:Wookieepedia Featured article probation pages]]

<!-- write after this line, please -->
==[[Article name]]==
===Removal of FA status===
*Reduxed at <meeting number>. ~~~~

===Redux review===
*[[Wookieepedia:Featured article nominations/article name (Redux review)]]

===Comments===
  • Add {{/article name (Redux review)}} to the bottom of the FAN page.

    • On the probation page, state the date on which the article's FA status was kept under "Removal of FA status."
  • Follow the link to the Redux page
    • Add this line to the top of the Redux page: {{subst:FAredux archive|kept}}
    • Remove this line from the bottom of the Redux page: <noinclude>[[Category:Wookieepedia Featured article Redux pages]]</noinclude>
    • Add this line to the bottom of the Redux page: </div>
  • Remove {{/article name (Redux review)}} from the FAN page.
