Wookieepedia

The Trash compactor is where Wookieepedians discuss whether or not an article or other page should be deleted. Pages listed here are debated until the community reaches a consensus.

  • 2009 archive
  • 2010 archive
  • 2011 archive
  • 2012 archive
  • 2013 archive
  • 2014 archive
  • 2015 archive
  • 2016 archive

The rules are as follows:

  1. Only registered users who are eligible per the Voting eligibility policy may vote on TCs.
  2. Using multiple screennames and/or getting your friends to sign up for a Wookieepedia account for the sole purpose of voting on a TC is frowned upon, and as such the offending votes will be removed.
  3. Unless there is a question of procedural irregularity, the TC result is final, and if the result was anything other than "Keep" or "No consensus", the page should not be recreated.
  4. Further guidelines for administrators on closing TC threads can be found at Wookieepedia:Consensus.

Once a consensus is reached, a page up for deletion can be:

  • KEPT
  • MERGED with an existing page
  • REDIRECTED to an existing page
  • DELETED per the Deletion policy

Administrators will use the {{Tc-closed}} template to archive the forum: {{Subst:Tc-closed|Delete|~~~~}}

Also change the category from "Trash compactor nominations" to "Trash compactor archive."

If the result of the debate is anything other than delete, please add the following to the milestones template on the page's talk page:

{{Ahh}}
{{Ahm
|date=Nomination date
|link=Wookieepedia:Trash compactor/{{subst:PAGENAME}}
|process=TC
|oldid=Nomination revision
|result=Result of the discussion}}
{{Ahf|status=K}}

To create a new TC:

  1. Place the {{Tc}} template at the top of the page to be deleted.
  2. Once the page is saved, follow the instructions provided and create a TC discussion page.

Remember, site policies and practices regarding user conduct still apply on Trash compactor forums. Abusive and condescending language will not be tolerated. Comment on the content, not the contributors.
