Template:Edit summary[]
Since when have edit summaries become obligatory? - Sikon [Talk] 13:45, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Keep[]
- Keep. Edit summaries are great for a variety of reasons. I direct any interested parties to the Wikipedia page on the subject. One of my biggest pet peeves about Wookieepedia is that 90% of edits are not accompanied by an edit summary, meaning someone has to physically click on the article history to see the diffs and know what the editor changed. A one-line blurb would have saved me (and hundreds of other editors) the effort. — SavageBob 20:55, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Keep per SavageBob. RMF 13:48, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Keep but reword slightly: "always leave an edit summary" is more of a guideline than a law. —Silly Dan (talk) 21:18, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Delete[]
- But do we really need an article about it? Especially such a trite one? Delete!! Arket 11:57, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Comments[]
- They're not obligatory, but they are definitely a good idea and I think it would be good if they were used a little bit more around here. See WP:ES. RMF 20:24, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- The article it links to Wikipedia:Edit_summary already covers it anyway, its just a useless link page. Arket
