Nominations for January 2011Edit

Bella'MiaEdit

SupportEdit

  1. One of our hardest workers. I won't list all the articles she's written, extensively sourced, and brought to top quality (although you can see partial lists here and here), but Rakghoul and Rakghoul plague are the two newest additions to the list. Also, check it out: quality AND quantity! Works tirelessly and modestly, interacts politely and with civility, and is always eager to improve. A damn fine Wookieepedian. Menkooroo 05:49, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  2. She has been up for this award several times now. I say it's about time. OLIOSTER (talk) 05:49, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  3. C'mmmoooonnnn... Bella'Mia! Baby needs a new pair of shoes! *throws dice* Trak Nar Ramble on 05:54, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  4. I've voted for her every time she's been nominated thus far, and I'll do it again. She deserves this, finally. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 06:08, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  5. She may not be involved in the article promotion process, but she's shown that you don't have to be in order to promote quality—and that's without mentioning her all-around appropriate and open-minded attitude. Olioster gets my vote next month. :) CC7567 (talk) 06:14, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  6. --Eyrezer 06:24, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  7. For the same reason as last time; for that "it needed doing...so I did it" (referring to adding over 100kb of quality content to Mandalorian) attitude. NAYAYEN 09:47, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  8. I've voted for her before, maybe now is her month. In my opinion, her diplomacy and welcoming attitude toward new users far outweighs any lack of official status articles (she has status articles; they're just not official yet!). We could use many more like her. ~ SavageBob 15:49, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  9. Bella'Mia is an excellent Wookieepedian, and Olioster will definitely get my vote next time. 1358 (Talk) 16:20, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  10. Per what is said in previous months too. Olioster gets a hug this time. (: –Tm_T (Talk) 16:33, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  11. Per Xd. Clone Commander Lee Talk 16:34, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  12. I promised I would. Not to mention she's a quality editor. Constantly making edits that are in the thousands of characters. Besides, Olioster thinks I'm an Amish 12-7ear-old. :P MasterFredCommerce Guild(Whatever) 17:24, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  13. Per above. Master Jonathan New Jedi Order (Jedi Council Chambers) 18:28, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  14. While I would love to see Bella take her articles to status, as I would love to see everyone do, the fact that she doesn't proves that the only reason she is editing is for the sole sake of interest in improving the site, which, when you get right down to it, should be the only real reason any of us are here. Also, strongly per Tope below. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 15:01, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
  15. ToRsO bOy 21:35, December 4, 2010 (UTC)
  16. --Loneshark1138 (Talk)Incom 18:08, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
  17. Jedi Kasra (comlink) 05:44, December 12, 2010 (UTC)

OpposeEdit

  1. I really hate to do this, and I do hope that what I'm about to say is wrong, but I feel that Bella'Mia's recent spike in contributing has been a result of these constant WOTM nominations - and that's not how it should be. WOTM nominations should be awards for those who consistently contribute to the site, and not incentives for users who don't contribute as much to increase their editing. That being said, I would have no problem with supporting Bella'Mia for WOTM in the future - but only after she has been giving time to demonstrate her eligibility without continually being nominated every month. I agree with the above --$ Jacensolo148 $ (Talk) 14:02, December 7, 2010 (UTC) (Vote struck per policy: Fails productivity requirement. -- 1358 (Talk) 16:01, December 7, 2010 (UTC))

OliosterEdit

SupportEdit

  1. This is Olioster's month. He has been working hard on articles to nominate: ten comprehensive articles and one good article so far, with several pending at this time. He's really catching fire as a user, and he's a very positive influence on the community. I'd have nominated him last month but for some reason I forgot he hadn't already won it. That's a sure sign, when you think someone already has won an honor, just because of where they are as a user. Graestan(Talk) 05:55, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  2. I did want to nominate Olioster myself, but great you did it. He also makes articles and tries to make them the same day as comprehensive article. He get's really my vote.--Station7 16:18, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  3. Definitely. btw, I don't support the use of "you'll have my vote next month." I'm not too familiar with Bella's work, other than reading certain Mandalorian-related articles, but I've worked with Olioster and reviewed many of his GANs before. I think both do excellent work on the Wook, but, for me, I think my vote goes down to whom I know and have worked with before, and not "oh, that person did good work on some articles; I should vote for that person." But that's my opinion. :P JangFett (Talk) 16:23, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  4. I think it's disappointing when WOTM turns into some kind of thinly veiled competition, because everyone wins when they're nominated for this honor. This is a support vote for Olioster, whom I've had the pleasure of working with closely on GANs over the past several weeks and have witnessed his merit for this recognition, not some kind of anti-Bella vote. Olioster's one of our brightest and fastest rising new status article nominators. Keep up the good work. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:44, December 1, 2010 (UTC)
  5. Per them. Olioster deserves this. Grand Moff Tranner Imperial Department of Military Research (Comlink) 00:26, December 2, 2010 (UTC)

He has got to know the most about Star Wars that I've ever seen. He makes a great addition to Wookieepedia. Unsigned comment by Cal Jedi (talk • contribs). (Vote struck per policy: Not enough mainspace edits -- 1358 (Talk) 17:44, December 9, 2010 (UTC))
