- "The station is a fortress. It has more guns than a fleet, and a weapon that will crack open worlds like they were ripe wuli nuts."
- ―Admiral Motti
Wuli nuts were a type of nut that could be cracked when ripe.[1] They were used in a variety of foods to add flavor and texture and were light brown in color.[2] Around 0 BBY,[3] Imperial admiral Conan Antonio Motti compared the ease with which the Death Star battle station could destroy planets to cracking ripe wuli nuts.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Wuli nuts were first mentioned in the 2007 novel Death Star, authored by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry.[1] They then made a full appearance and were pictured in the 2003 Sony Online Entertainment massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies,[2] which closed in 2011.[4] Wuli nuts were added to the game as a rare foraged food component for the portable deep fryer,[2] introduced with the release of the "Chapter 9,"[5] published on April 3, 2008.[6]
