Wurrek[2] were a type of tentacled creature with red skin.[1] In 0 BBY,[3] a human inhabitant of Jedha City on the moon Jedha was cooking a wurrek in a pan over a fire in the city's streets as the rebel operatives Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor walked past, shortly before the city's destruction by the Death Star superweapon.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Wurreks first appeared in the 2016 Anthology series film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.[1] They were first identified in the current canon in the video "Every Creature in the Star Wars Movies", which was released by the Star Wars Kids Youtube channel in 2019.[2] The creatures originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they first appeared in a 2003 Creature Feature article, a online supplement for Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game. The article on the Wurreks was written by Jeff Quick.[4]
