Wyrwulves were six-legged canine animals that, while often mistaken by outsiders as pets or working animals, were in fact the children of the Codru-Ji race.

When a Wyrwulf reached puberty, it encased itself in a cocoon, from which emerged a Codru-Ji adult several weeks later. The appearance of the Wyrwulf was often frightening, although it meant no harm to those with good intentions. However, the Wyrwulf was very protective of its caretaker (in the absence of its parents) or those under its care. The relationship between the Wyrwulf and its caretaker was very strong and could possibly be compared to the relationship between a dog and a Human.
